Thinking of scifi genre, you might like Expanse or from the older series (my absolute favorite) Babylon 5 and from the Star Trek franchise Deep Space 9 was my favorite.
Also The Man in the High Castle has been raved, not yet seen myself. Brave New World, 3%, Ascension, Incorporated, Altered Carbon, Foundation, Silo, Westworld and Mr Robot were either great or ok. Severance, Dark and Constellation seem quite interesting to me. From the older ones I also loved Earth 2, my ex loved Firefly, Battlestar Galactica and Farscape.
There is actually one thing, and its what they ended up using in the show. The Soviets decided to send a woman up to rub it in Americas face at the height of the Cold War. That usually does the trick
in the shpw it started as a PR stunt because the soviets sent a woman, so the US needs to show we can as well, so the government told nasa to jusy pick a hot blonde and shove her in a capsule, but the astronaut trainer insists they have to do the same training the men do, which will take a long time, and the government ends up trying to cancel the PR stunt several times when they lose interest in it, but once the nest was kicked it was too late

It's a good show that turned really woke near the end of season 1 and into season 2. Felt like I was watching that show Discovery that ruined Star Trek. It's a feminist takeover and it has ruined the show.

Admiral Baldwin is now an old fart who's acting cringe around everyone and is basically a laughing stock after everything he did and went through. Also on real missions in this series it's not all female astronauts team. What you see here is the group of women training to become astronauts
The program was also only launched in the show so that the Americans can play catch up to the Soviets who put the first woman on the moon which definitely lines up with real history since they quickly put a woman in space after Gagarin.
If there even is a moon. As we very slowly move forward social media being the biggest and most disappointing achievement since the lightbulb has shown us most of what we think we know is fake. And soon enough we will realise just how fake it has all been.

Don’t care what the culture was back in the 60’s and 70’s. The chain smoking, testosterone infested environment was not necessary. Smoking is not okay. I was born in the 50’s and all those around me were chain smokers and now they’re all in boxes or jars. Not necessary to depict that time. Doesn’t add anything to the storyline. Just my 2 cents. Oh and by the way, season one is great so far.

try watching 'the expanse'. its similar to this show but set more in the future (2300s). its also really realistic, you'll love it
