For one, from what i watched, Mesar is not wrong to say his teammates were slow. For two, he's training at home during the development camp, same with slafkovsky. For three, Mesar carried slovakia in the iihf so I'm definitely staying on his side
He did not show up to development camp because he's in his home country training just like a lot of other guy's from Europe
Europeans were told to skip it and keep training.
There was an interview with Rob Ramage (habs prospect development coach) where he said they felt that all the European prospects were not even invited to development camp because it’s better for them to remain home till rookie camp. They will get visited by Lauri Korpikoski (habs euro prospect development coach). Mesar is currently training in Slovakia. There’s no controversy for him not attending. Montreal didn’t invite Koivu, Kapanen, Demidov, Reinbacher or Volodkhin either.
Your're mostly totaly right but,for the case of Demidov & Volodkhin. Its more contract issue (About KHL rules) than a training optimisation.
and i just remember. Demidov doesnt even have a Canadian Visa rn. So even without KHL contract he would not been able to come
Watch the highlights of his season. He was mostly playing as a second line center which is not his natural position first of all and second of all he is kind of right about his teammates not capitalizing from the chances he creates. Compare it with his u20 iihf play and you can clearly see the difference. I'm actually really happy he's done w OHL and will be coming to Laval. Hopefully he really shines in there. For what it's worth I defo wouldn't give up on this guy yet and I'm defo staying in his corner for now.
There's nothing to this. Just in translations of 3 languages. He didn't have great chemistry. He was awesome at world juniors and should have some quality linemates in Laval next season.
The thing is if u watch highligthts u can see the chances he creates are rly good sometimes 100% goal chances and yet his teamates cant finnish i understand his frustration but at the same time u cant just purely blame ur teammates so imo its 50/50.He him said he is playmaker and wants to mainly pass and when does perfect passes 90% nobody finnished them im sure it also demotivated him but please dont give up on him if he shows up in ahl people are gonna see his potencial.
To be fair he’s fulfilling his role as a playmaker. I mean he shouldn’t be publicly naming his teammates and making himself look bad but like you said his frustration is understandable. I don’t think it’s 50/50 with the blame I think he should have less of the blame because like you said he’s making these excellent chances and doing his job as a playmakers but he teammates won’t finish. It could be that he’s not surrounded by the right players. It also is demoralizing to be doing everything right but things don’t get done because your teammates can’t capitalize on your work/plays. I mean if he works on improving his playmaking abilities do that even his teammates can capitalize that would be great because top playmakers in the NHL are able to make low producing bottom tier players look like superstars with their plays but those are superstar playmakers that do that. He can make perfect plays for his teammates but it’s up to them to capitalize.
I watched Mesar a lot last year and I gotta say, he’s not wrong. It’s too bad he’s going out to yap about it in media, that’s for sure.. but if you look at him playing, he’s right. He could definitely be a beast if you have him play with a sniper type center or left wing
During Mesars and Slafs first development camp, I thought Mesar was going to make the NHL before Slaf. He impressed me that much, and I was shocked to see him go OHL. I completely saw what Mesar was going through and noticed he was truly sad by his body language in the OHL, he didn't look happy. So it makes sense to me.
Yeah he's not given the chances he deserves and not put in an environment to succeed.
Even if they play him in the AHL this year if they dont give him the proper ice time he wont be able to show what he can do so we'll likely lose him for some pucks and he'll end up having a career similar to Scott Gomez but better
Mesar will get a chance to show what he can bring this season in Laval. He should be on the same line as Roy, who has the shot to capitalize on Phil's passes.
its filip, Yeah, i agree, and the AHL is more dynamic... go go go... this wil suit Mesar alot.
He had 16 pts in the playoffs.
No, the weird part is that for the second year in a row Mesar produces at a good clip until the World Juniors where he does great but when he returns to the OHL for the rest of the season his production drops off considerably. Mental of physical fatigue, lack of motivation? who knows.
Needs to be in AHL or lower bottom 6. Underrated.
MY MAN
It’s not a good look, to be blaming teammates for a disappointing season, but I can’t count the number of times that hockey writers claimed Mesar has a high hockey sense and was too advanced for his mates.
part of me says he’s right and part of me says a playmaker should adapt to his teammates and not the other way around. either way I understand the frustration. He can’t improve if his teammates hold him back. Hope he figures out a way to do it.
He didnt balme teammates. He said he would try things and his linemates didnt see what he saw. A very normal thing to say but of course people are VERY reactionary and bite into these narratives like chocolate cake.
he didnt get very many minutes with rehkopf and bruzctewicz. didnt get the same usage at all. mesar was ready to play in the ahl this year but idk if the habs org was ready to accomodate him in the system.
We live in a world that harsh truth is not seen as good to say.
We are not used to ear the truth sooo it can be difficult to swallow in our tender hearts.
If his opinon is that his teamates were slow and didn't read him well, that's probably the case. As hard as it is to digest. Sorry
don't read too much into it
players are deciding what's in their best interests now. it gets down to trust and maybe there's a trust issue here and maybe it's well founded.
Mesar wants to be the best he can be and he will.
He wants to be the very best?
Saw him play in Kitchner
Shout out to HELMETLESS Brad Park !!!
I hope he plays in the NHL one day. But id be surprise. And his comments doesnt fit well with the culture Hughes, Gorton and MSL are trying to craft.
Au revoir Phil.
It's hard having to slow down your play to accommodate inferior players, it throws off your natural timing and drive.
The old saying....you are the company you keep.....can't be more true.
You can't fly like an eagle when you are with a bunch of turkeys.
He was already playing among men, so junior team was a step back. He should have stayed in Slovakia, if he had no place in AHL. He is more passer than scorer and found no players to pass, because junior league is slower.
When you guys have no news
But here you are!
The team that didn't get Michkov because of "character". 🤦🏻♂️🤡🤣😂
And your point is?
michkov didn't want to be in Montreal, I think there's too much History! if michkov was in MTL He wouldn't make History much! maybe he wanted to go where there was no History!🤣😂
your team cant get past the 1st round
@@Xanatos0504 Is he a Leafs fan? That would explain a lot?
Should have draft brad lambert
Yea I wanted him too
GET EM ATTA HEEEE!!
Sad for mesar he cant handle montreal,,, owen beck sad again we have gally pinard Evans white pezzeta armia Anderson and mr hospital kirby dach so poor beck he will never make it because all the deadmeat that arent able to skate like 10 years before so sad to see this but hey hey molson loves clowns specially pezetta he gave him a million us for his clown hair otherwise we are ok in the mascot category with good old yuppi
Soap opera
Sounds like a twit blaming his teammates for his lack of ability. Part of the game is knowing your line mates and utilizing them to play as a team. They should terminate his contract.
ooof.. what a stupid comment
another hughes mistake lol
No, you're dumb.
Quiet few mistake by Hughes, including trading for Barron, and picking Reinbecher instead of offensive guy in offensive pool draft year.
Mesar clearly is looking for an excuse for his less than impressive production. Even if what he said is true, he shouldn't have told it to the press. I hope Mesar finds himself in the AHL as he will be playing with quick and skilled players. I think he will be Laval's most prolific forward next year.
I never liked your videos, your tone is so annoying and how you deliver your messages.
Now this video is very bad because this was not a recent update it happened weeks ago and alot was lost in translation.
Also Mesar is 100% correct his teammates could not follow his pace at all... they were very slow and bad play readers.
His WJC proves it how good he can be on a team with good scorers.
TVA sports is not and I repeat not a credible source for information about Canadian number two, you need to quit this you're horrible at it, you're distorting all kinds of information, please stop and how the hell do you block this channel?
You can just not click his videos...idjot.
