Best snowboarding channel hands down. Also rode with the board archive hoodie on my last trip and felt like Zeb Powell. Keep it up TJ, thanks for everything.
That is so sick, my powder board is literally a dumpster diver and I've been thinking about this conversion since I got it but honestly didnt really think it was possible to get a good straight line when you're cutting it, but you've given me the confidence!
I’m into this. Need to score a cheap o board to do this with. I bought a brand new lib tech escalator and immediately hit a rock with it. Now I have a project in my hands to make a rock split (early season in New Hampshire is brutal) I already have the Union explorers and the skins too 👍🏻
Awesome. I had to warranty a bataleon cruiser so was thinking of doing this with the defective board. Also have the Union Explorer bindings. Will definitely do this in the summer. At first I was wondering why you had to cut the mounting plate for the solid board in half instead of just using the split board mounting plate but now I realize the hole pattern is different for the solid. Never split boarded before just use the Union Rovers.
That is an awesome mod!!❤ I feel like more people are gonna have split boards now including meee!🥹 Thanks TJ! Also… where was the test riding filmed?? Freakin sublime 😌
@@BoardArchive It just isn’t as easy or probably as cheap as it was presented. The first step already had you get the help of your friend and many different tools(3 or 4 different saws, circular drill bit, and several clamps). Filling with ptex disks and making sure everything is sealed can’t be easy. The final result is much less durable and it is not very accessible for most people probably. I don’t mean to come off as salty or a hater.
It's certainly cheaper than most, but shit just tip clips are 50 bucks up here so a Voile kit ends up being the best option and that's 200 Canuckistani rupis. Add in the rest of the gear (bindings, pucks, skins, poles, avy gear) and you're only saving a couple hundred bucks off a used setup if, less if you're in a ski town like Revy. Kind of a false savings IMO, just rent to see if you like it then pick up a dedicated board. -just my personal experience, YMMV
I get what you are saying, but it’s either do the work, or pay the asking price for a retail/used split board, T is just showing how it’s possible for cheap(er) if you are handy/have shop access or an uncle with tools, etc.
This is one of the dopest videos you’ve made!!! So sick!! 🔥🔥🔥
thanks bro! more DIY coming to the channel 💯
Two best snowboard TH-camrs ^^^
Now we just need Kevin…
Also would love to see more DIY!!

I’ve been thinking about adding insert packs to a board for years.
Good on you for doing that and sharing.
Such a good DIY project!
Love the DIY project videos

Excellent idea, seemed to work really well!
Just a shelf project or will you take it out again?

interesting video! it's a great way of saving some money - split boars are really cool but pretty expensive too.
been waiting on this one for a hot minute
That was cool, and I imagine harder than you make it look! I would've liked to have seen the finished product before you took it out on snow though.
This is great
thanks L!
No thank you for the entertainment @BoardArchive

Was there any issue with the width of the binding inserts after you sawed it … they would be slightly closer did it affect the binding ataall
That is a good idea and deff something that could be done, hard thing is picking a board to sacrifice haha
interesting. so no inside edges? and when you cut it, each side kept its shape?
Did you lose a saw blade of width from cutting the board?
Yes it does
Met you at Mammoth last June! Fun video, i wish you posted more 😭 great content
wouldnt a table saw be better to cut the board?
I had to look up that Five Below song. Her style reminds me of Portishead.
Were you the one in the pink in David Jones’s newest video
yep that was me!
pin this board archive!
So fast
😆
first!
got em!
Kinda cool but misleading/disingenuous
you really think so?

It's cool to just comment on a video and at the same time complain about it when you're hiding outside of view and from a keyboard.
