Malenkov was the intelligent one, with sense of humor.
After Malenkov went out of favor, he was exiled to Kazakazahn where he became head engineer of a dam.
According to his daughter, he became depressed and was bored with life in general, probably out of guilt.
He was a city boy, who now missed the Moscow parties, the intrigue of national, and international diplomacy.
His daughter, being very religious, convinced him to repent his sins and convert to Orthodox Christianity.
I forget when he died, but he lived a good while.
The woman at the beginning, may be her.

This was a fully democratic decision. 2,388 delegates clapped their hands in agreement. Voting was 2, 388 delegates to the right, and 1 (sorry now 0) delegates to the left.

Khrushchev and his clique had sneakily conspired to oust the vast majority of the anti-revisionist Marxist-Leninists from the top Party leadership, and were largely successful in doing so in the months after Stalin’s death.
