"Mathmagic" was both incredibly confusing, yet hilarious.😂❤ I think a part of me just relates with Star when it comes to understanding complex mathematical concepts, but it was just so incredibly random and funny. I look forward to more reactions next week!💛😆
10:20 (Cracks knuckles) Alright, think of it like this: Imagine a road that leads from some point (we'll call this point A) outwards. Every few feet, the road branches off into two or more paths, each of which continue to branch off in a similar fashion later on, until they reach some end point (we'll call all the end points point B). In this example, the multiverse is represented by all the paths as a whole, a universe is each possible road you could take from point A to one of the point Bs, and the forks in the road are representing possible choices. For example, say that point A is when I was born and point B is when I will die. One day between point A and point B, I have to decide which party I want to go to on a given night, but there is one universe in which I go to one party, one where I go to the other, one where I go to neither, etc. What I end up doing just happens to be the case in the universe I live in. This is demonstrated to the extreme in Rick and Morty, showing that there is a universe for every conceivable situation and then some, like how there is a universe where corn evolved to become the dominant species on earth. This is because the greater the distance from point A to point B and the greater the number of choices at each fork in the path between them, the greater the number of possible paths that can be taken. So by taking point A to be the big bang and point B to be the heat death of the universe and the number of choices at each interval to be massive (for example, a yes or no question has many ways you can say "yes" or "no"), the number of possibilities increases towards infinity. Basically, anything that can happen has already happened in some reality.
Just want to add one thing. You don't necessarily need to have all your universes end in the same state in multiverse theory. For instance, if in your example we take point A to be the start of the universe, we could potentially have universes that end in heat death and universes that end in the opposite way (the so-called "big crunch") all within the same multiverse. Multiverse theory is just a way of interpreting the collapse of the wavefunction, so there's no need for all of the universes to come back to the same state at any time.
@@feqbrony8989 Fair enough, to be honest I was more mentioning it for your sake than hers. (also to be fair to Alycia, it's somewhat debatable that ANYONE truly understands what the wavefunction is physically)
Personally, I believe all quantum operations that can happen, MUST happen, the Multiverse just gives them room to happen in, since some quantum operations are mutually exclusive.
mathmagic was one of my favorite episodes this season. Just seeing all the different versions of star made it a really good episode. And don't worry plot episodes will be back. I'm just waiting for the song ;)
just found your channel and went back and watched all your svtfoe reaction videos so far! i love seeing your reactions/theories, it’s so entertaining. also sidenote, you are so pretty!!!!
When you're a Doctor Who fan and like the multiverse theory/concept, as well as being a math geek, so you're just fangirling over the "Mathmagic" episode XD 10:25 I mean, I can just sit down and explain to you about the parallel dimension concept... But hey, hope you find those who can tell you about it. Cause... comment and replying won't be sufficient enough XD
10:28 Ok, so different dimensions in nutshell- basically, imagine a scenario where you do your homework. Even though you (ALYCIA) did your homework, there's another version of you (ALYCIA 2) who has not done the homework. ALYCIA and ALYCIA 2 are EXACTLY the same until the homework thing , and because ALYCIA 2 has not done her homework, her future is probably slightly different from your/ALYCIA's future (like for example she gets an F while you would get an A). So just picture this scenario with Star in Mathmagic, but broaden it a bit. For example, what if there was an alt version of her where in that universe, Meymans (her species b/c she's not from Earth) evolved to look like pizza? Or cats? Or a universe where she is a boy, or a universe where she never got rid of her goth look? And that is basically the technical side of different dimensions (but honestly you could just say different dimensions are "what if__(Fill in the blank)__happened instead? and you get the same idea). Hope this helps and I loved your reaction!
also technically "demensions" isnt the right word for it. they would be called parallel universes. you could also call them realities or timelines or, if you want to, realms. dimensions are basically planes of existence that stack on top of each other *0th dimension:* imagine just a single point; a dot with no physical size. *1st dimension:* now there are two points. those points might even be connected by a line to form a line segment. there could also be a line that starts at a point and goes off infinitely in a single direction forming a ray. or there could be a line that goes off infinitely in two directions. that's just a line. there can be an infinite amount of points on the lines too *2nd dimension:* now imagine a point is placed off of the perfectly straight line. maybe a line segment is formed connecting the point to another point on the line, or maybe there is an entirely separate line. in any of these cases, this would create the the second dimension. those lines could also connect to form shapes, but those shapes only have physical size in two directions, x and y *3rd dimension:* the dimension we are physically living in. now imagine those shapes get another shape stacked on top of them. those 2D shapes now exist in a 3D plane. you could connect the 2D shapes with other 2D shapes to get a 3D shape. now there are 3 directions on a spacial plane, x, y, and z *4th dimension:* this is where it gets complicated (and my explanation begins to lack comprehension). imagine a 3D cube. that cube then "expands" out in an "unseen" 4th direction other than the 3 typical spatial coordinates x, y, and z. a representation of a 4D cube in a 2D space would look like if there was a smaller cube inside a larger cube but the corners of the larger cube were also connected through lines to that smaller cube. that connection is the representation of the expansion of the 4th dimension. bringing time into this, time is a single temporal dimension. people often refer to time as the 4th dimension because when you combine the three spacial dimensions and the single temporal dimension, you get spacetime. spacetime is what the universe is, as it exists in space and time simultaneously. time would not be the 4th spacial dimension as it is not a physical space as soon as time is introduced and combined with space to form spacetime, that allows for the possiblity of change. once things are allowed to change, new possibilities open up. possibilities that can theoretically branch off and form other universes. an infinite amount of time allows for an infinite amount of possibilities, provided they stay within the confines of the laws of physics the universe provides
So, you want to have the alternate universe concept explained super easy? I've got you covered. Imagine the multiverse is a video game, like Minecraft. You start each game with the same character, but the biome might be different, or you might choose iron armour over gold, or you might choose to mine more and build less. There are always some elements that stay the same, but each time you play, something different will happen.
video games are an interesting metaphor, especially the random seed world generation in Minecraft. you start with the same base code every time (assuming you're on the same version in vanilla) but, thanks to the algorithm, the world will be different almost every time. of course it's not entirely random because you can't have true random with code, but that doesn’t really matter because you will almost always get a different result when running it. this goes for any RNG in a video game. the algorithm makes a "choice" that has the potential to be different each time, so new situations (universes) are created.
That's the thing with Star Vs. It has a great story, but it has a lot of filler episodes, once the story starts to go foward they completely skip the actual plot for a couple of episodes, back to the plot, and repeat until the finale, in SOME CASES they develop a character during the "fillers" and explore some of it's traits. However, episodes like "Fetch" and this, "The Bounce Lounge" i think are horrible placed, but they come after character driven episodes and really add nothing (not that I could tell, but maybe i didn't catch it) Except for a throw away line at the end like in this one "nothing last forever" but the structure of the episode doesn't feel like it's going to teach that lesson.
The episode ran with literature multiverse theory. The theory is something like... as people and things make big decisions, alternate universes are forged, split off from, and reflect the decisions not made. All of the same people are there, but they live their lives in reflection to those casted off choices. I say it’s literature multiverse theory, because actual multiverse theory confuses me too. This is like fanfic writers and their AUs... the things we saw were the universes crafted from the choices star and others didn’t make. Like...”what if Star joined Mina Loveberry/Mina Loveberry was Star’s mom? “What If cockroaches were the dominant species on earth?” “What if star stayed with her punk look?” There’s a universal reality for it, and Janna has the perfect hat and dry chicken joke for it as well...
Multiverse theory says every possible quantum outcome must happen somewhere. Literature multiverse theory says that every decision must happen somewhere. You can argue that every decision is based on a quantum event (id est, an electron goes down this neuron, not that one). Ergo...the chicken crosses the road.
@@JamesWilson-vr3ql why did the chicken cross the road? because the subatomic particles of the chicken and the road interracted in a way that caused the chicken to walk accross

Anyone ever do a body count/crimes commited by Star? Anxiously awaiting the New season of R&M where I gave up on body count. I can't count that high.
Hey, do not worry. There is not much science needed to understand the multiverse stuff. You may find some good shows that deal with these kinds of stuff. It is really nice to imagine though.
When I first saw this episode I came up with a theory that didn't come true. I would tell you but I am not sure if it would be spoiling things to say what is not going to happen.
I'm not the kind of person who cares about an episode being "filler" but i guess the show doesn't always to a great job at spacing out the important episodes.
This! It's like the guys/gals that created the overall plot had the main episodes and some fillers ready to go (the fillers that are actually good, character driven ones were they explore some character's trait) but the net wanted more and they throwed away whatever that was funny but didn't even knew where to place them.
