Thats the kind of band I want to build.
99.9% of people never heard of Dave Mustaine or any songs he wrote.
that's not even remotely true lol
you're just throwing random numbers because you're mad😂
Sting is garbage
@@Qthetarlmao sure
I have always liked a song that tells a story and/or takes me to another place with an image…that’s what Stings lyrics have always done for me.
Love dave mustaine, great guitarist, metal icon......but as a songwriter sting is several levels above.
emphasis on "SEVERAL"
@@hazardeur it would be interesting to know if 60 year old Dave mustaine has the same opinion on this as 25 year old dave mustaine. He's had a lot of time to grow up and appreciate fine music.
@@pablohanc would be interesting indeed. but taking on sting was always a bad idea, especially in terms of songwriting. he should have known even back then lol
Average musician compared to sting. The world class musicians he has employed were only with him due to the band he created and most realised he was a complete tool.
@@andym28 to be fair, the majority of musicians out there are average compared to sting. For every sting level of talent there's a thousand Noel Gallaghers, 100 Dave mustaines, 5 Jimmy pages and 1 Prince or Stevie wonder.
he's got some self-indulgent fantasies, and quite a few really excellent songs that one cannot imagine apart from the music
Sting is the greatest lyricist of this generation. Mustane continues to disappoint every time he opens his mouth.
This must be a old video
Who is this guy? 😂 Just saw Sting last night at Cesar’s. What a great performance. It had been 31 years since I’d seen him. His voice is still incredible. He’s a kind soul and a great storyteller. Anyone who mocks someone is truly hiding their jealousy 😉
Sting I know. Sting everybody knows. . . . . Ummm who is this guy?
Lead singer and guitarist in Megadeth, although he's changed a lot considering this was a while ago. He's around 60 now, about 25 in the video.
It’s crazy how well he knows even lyrics he hates hahaha!!! A few years ago, my band recorded a cover of Big Balls (AC/DC) that he sang on… I learned that Dave is way smarter than I expected, and super funny. The press just zeros in on his shit-talking lol
I like his music but man is Dave hard to like…
I love megadeth's music, but Dave is just a pissed off Manchild, we get it you got kicked out of Metallica because you were a drunk asshole.
Never heard of this guy.🤷♂️
@@rossydv Lead singer, guitarist of Megadeath
@@rossydvdoesn’t change the fact that’s he is a legend
The fact that Dave knows that much details of Sting’s lyrics, lol. Greatness acknowledge greatness.
Never even heard of this guy....but hey i love sting❤
You must listen to easily accessible pop music. Thats probably why you haven't heard of him.
@@themetalhead1463 I don't listen to pop
Murder by numbers is amazing. The chords alone are nightmare fuel.
god he’s hot
He isn't even criticizing Sting. He is saying that the mass audience typically prefers simple basic lyrics and may find it boring if the artist expresses themselves too deeply. Not that he himself finds it boring.
This video and title are created in a way to stir people up and generate views, and it worked.
Sounds like Dave is just jealous because he's still writing cringe songs a 12 year old would do.
Nah, this footage is 35 years old. I bet his opinion has changed since then.
TRUE LMAO
My God, you know this isn't current Dave, right? This is the epitome of cancel culture. Take the opinion of a man 25 years ago and apply it to how he feels today and chastise him for it. Please, for the love of God, show me a 12 year old that has accomplished what Dave has. I'll wait.
I think he was playing up to the camera / a persona.
this is from the guy who wrote the lyric "peace sells...but who's buying." let that sink in.. peace actually doesn't sell anywhere, nowhere at all. Violence and turmoil and crisis sell. The problem is, young Dave was not being ironic
Sting has more songwriting talent in his left pinkie than Dave has in his whole body.
What metrics are you using to decide that? As far as composing guitar parts, Sting isn't on the same level. Sting is good for what he is which a good song writer for accessible pop music meant for mass consumption.
Sting is made for pop garbage lol
Dave's tactfulness when describing other musicians songs is very impressive.
Fun fact: Dave's favorite snack while on tour is Gerber bananas with tapioca
Dave wishes he was as talented as Sting!
Sting is a poet. His lyrics are mostly poetic and metaphorical
Dave is a bitter man...always...so this is just a normal day for him...just play along with it...dont take it seriously🤭
Kind of amusing that for as "boring" as he claims the lyrics of Synchronicity II are, he seems to have no trouble at all rattling them off right off the top of his head. Sounds like he's a fan in truth.
He legit said he was a genius. He would for sure agree even more so today.
I love The Police but i have to admit that Dave is right 🤣
Music is subjective. I myself loved that song, more than that I loved the whole album and I think Sting is next level talented including that song.
Love that smooth song from Sting.
Synchro II is one of my favorite songs ever...what it is to be young, I guess.
Whatever Dave Mustang.Your endless guitar noodling is trite and uninspired.
He's also probably grown up since making this statement about 35 years ago (He looks mid 20s here, and he would have been mid 20s when synchronicity came out).
@@pablohanc Nice try with the mathematics. This clip
Is probably early to mid 90s. Synchronicity came out in 1983 I believe.
@@artlover1477 yeah, I've already been proved wrong on another thread mate. Totally hold my hands up. Very disappointed however to find that at the age of pushing 40 Dave mustaine still had the attitude and maturity of and early 20s person. Most people's appreciation for music broadens and matures as the age, even if in the case of pro musicians their professional output has to be limited by the genre their band falls into. The interviews actually from 2000 and the full thing is on youtube.
@@pablohanc I am sure Dave cringes when he knows this clip is still up. I know and respect Megadeath and Metallica, I was just being a cranky old guy. Sting and The Police were a part of my growing up in the late 70s to early 80s; in lies my attitude. We all said things in our youth we would like to take back. Have a great day and keep rocking!
@@artlover1477 except, as we now know, he's not saying it in his youth, but when he was very quickly approaching middle age.
Lane Staley's mimic of this guy is the best.
Seemed like a compliment
That whole album was ac masterpiece. Even the 'worst' songs could have been top 40 hits. Mrs Gradenko and Synchronicity were great enough to get more airplay than they did
"...you wouldn't get it."-Arthur Fleck to Dave
Lyrics based on a Carl Jung book
Sting and Mustaine my two favorite musicians
To me, that lyric Sting wrote is a genius stuff. Just like watching a movie, a fast moving one.
Synchronicity 2 is one of the greatest songs ever written.
Diva Mustaine
The song he is criticizing is actually about Crowley.
