    Great review thanks. Impressed with the Sako rounds. What's not to love about a Mauser? Best wishes.

      Thanks, shame I ran out of the Sako ammo before the Roe doe stalk!

    I’m trying to get my hands on this rifle when the stock is replenished. As someone who lived in the UK for a while, the classy European style hunting is so refreshing from the “barbaric” American and to some extent the Canadian hunting culture. The videography is great and the information is very relevant to hunters and sport shooters. Great Videos!

      Why a M12? For what you get it is expensive. Grab a CZ 600 it's got almost every one of these features minus the three position safety. And comes in at far bellow $2000 unlike the m12. IMO the Mauser M18 is even a better buy. Personally at the prices these come at I'm getting a nice Winchester model 70 over these. Not sure I've seen the barbaric side of Canadian hunting. Everyone I know seems rather tame, and normal about. Even the guns being used are tame and boring classics. Nice, but old school stuff.

    Have it same type with decocer in 30-06, using mostly hornady superformance munition. Like it a lot.

    How widely you have access to Sako or Lapua rounds? I mean after you have tested few, only reloding can get you to same results. Of course Barnes etc. are also used here in Finland but you don’t see many using Remington, Winchester or other American made rounds for hunting purposes.

      Hi, Yes Sako factory is very good but I have to buy all my ammunition and tend to use what I can get at my local gunsmith. Again we don`t see much Lapua ammunition but I use a lot for my own reloads, all calibres.

    Nice job with your channel. I appreciate your content, relevant comments and overall content. Just wondered which scope was used on this Mauser? Didn’t recognize it, so perhaps it’s a model not often seen in the US. Thanks

      @amatobo384 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I can tell this is a "Blaser B2 2-12x50 ic" scope. At 2:10min you can see "2-12" on the top right side of the screen. If it was a "x56" scope, there should be a "2.5-15" reading.

    Great videos, very informative but please, please stop the background music when you are talking. Because it is a real pain in the ear. Thanks.

    I to have a Mauser Max 12 in 308 cal but it does not have the comb. I put a Leupold VX L scope on it. It is the best shooting rifle l have. Loading and feeding is very smooth. Only problem is every time l fire it it hits the top of my thumb.

    Hi! I’m a new hunter and I just wanted to ask if a Mauser 12, sako s20 or perhaps brx1 is the best choice or would you recommend the Franchi Horizon as a first rifle? 🤔

    • @broadswordballistics
      @broadswordballistics  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, Choosing a rifle is a very personnel thing, all these rifles tested are independently and dependent on your price point that would make a difference. If it helps I bought the Sako S20 Camo after the test.

    Now that it's a German rifle, why not also test it with some German factory ammunition?

    Would seem that we only got a few of these into Canada since its release. For the prices these were selling, 2000-4000 depending on model type. It's hard to believe they sold many here. For those prices you can get a lot of amazing rifles. Like the bolt on that m12 isn't even jeweled. A standard featherweight winchester model 70 has that at under $1700 or $1499 before covid. Just seems to me that it's a $1500-2500 dollar firearm when I consider the current competition. The CZ 600 is a better buy.

    • @kevinhood9781
      @kevinhood9781 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes but everyone has a winchester and they are mass produced. 🥱

      @@kevinhood9781 if you want to pay for a more unique rifle. Then ya I get it. But the fact a standard feather weight model 70 comes with better checkering, and an actual Juled bolt says you're paying for the name and not the quality when getting one of these Mauser m12s. Though I do like the stock minus it's cheap looking checkering. Sorry this rifle is not worth what Mauser wants for it. It should be $1700 at the high end. Like I doubt it's even been glass bedded like a model 70.
      So cheaper looking checkering then a cz 600, no Juled bolt, no glass bedding. I could buy a cz 600 luck and a model 70 featherweight for the price of one of these.

      @@canadianguy1955 it makes sense, all depends what what people look for, what fits their budget and what is most accurate for their needs. Its also unique to have something different that most people dont have and can talk about. Important thing is to get out and shoot

      Its probably because Sauer and Mauser use exactly the same stock.
