This guy has never been in a recording studio and has turned down all record labels. Most of his songs are recorded on his cell phone, even some of the ones that are topping iTunes Charts. He lives in a camper he bought for $750 that has a tarp over the roof.
I went to his concert yesterday (8/19/23) in Moyock, NC. It was absolutely FREE. He was playing for tips/donations. He started the show with prayer and the Word. He is humble and kind. He is spreading God’s word of unity and love.

I met a man in Sturgis, SD during rally week in 2011 from Mississippi, Stan. I’m from Boston. I was by myself and going through one of those times and traveled out there as one of those things u want to do before u shed the mortal coil. He was with a group of other bikers I happened upon, ya know started talkin’ and one of the “gals” asked me to ride along with them. I ended up riding and riding up n down those Black Hills for the rest of my time there with them.
Stan the whole time was just in awe of my ability as a rider, my “balls” lol, and especially a girl(I just turned 50) from the “eeeeeast coast!” He was funny as ever!
It changed my life.
Stan could be this man’s brother.
We never could understand each others accents the entire time because ours were so thick it was hilarious with so many memorable antics and conversations!
Stan would be one of those friends you can count on 5 fingers and I learned very quickly what a good ‘ol boy was.
So much I relived through this ol soul’s cry and knowing I’ve always felt I have more in common with people like me and people like you.

Oliver's anthem is a simple message that the whole world can relate too. Olive lives in Farmville, Va and plays Blue Grass on his resonator guitar He has only 3 lines and 4 chords and a mic. Lord, I do pray for his protection .
I wouldn't call it bluegrass. It's American Folk (Americana, roots, etc...) It's closer to delta or country blues than bluegrass. Same simple chord structure, but bluegrass is more technical in its use of those 3/4 chord tunes. Might only have 4 chords, but you'll see some amazing improvisation over those chords.
But it doesn't really matter; just being pedantic. It's good music, and that's all that matters! And yeah, the "Rich men north of Richmond" and their lackeys in the media will do everything in their power to bring him down as he's uniting people that never should have had a rift between them in the first place.

When I heard this song the first time I immediately thought of 2Pac. “Got money for war but can’t feed the poor” summed it up then and still holds true today.

When I saw that he was playing a $600 Gretsch and not a $6000 boutique or mint 1920's/'30's Tri-cone it made me immediately think "this dude is legit". Not backed by a label & supplied high-end gear, he's just playing what he's got, ie the working-man's gear most musicians in the country own.
Also made me really want to buy a roundneck, lol. Mainly play flat-top acoustic's, bass, and banjo, but I've got a Gold Tone square neck I tinker with on occasion, but I just don't "get" the slide/Thompson bar. Different angle, so different muscles that I don't have muscle memory for, but a roundneck? Not sure why I didn't buy one 20 years ago... I suspect sales of roundneck resonators are going to absolutely explode in the coming months!

I've been doing exactly the same, but only for 2 days! And you're right. It never gets old. It fills my heart with hope too - to see so many people from all creeds, colours, nationalities and faiths agreeing completely (independently, without looking to see what the currently "fashionable" opinion might be) that the sentiments in the song are absolutely on point.
It's so simple but also so bluntly beautiful, heartfelt and accurate.
We've been used, abused and divided by the "elite" predator class for their own benefit for generations, but even while we knew it was going on, most of us were reticent to say anything in case we were singled out.
I'm not suggesting that this is the start of some sort of moral revolution, but it's absolutely a clarion call to the majority of us - who don't see lying, cheating and stealing (among other nefarious things) as positive character traits - that we're definitely not alone and should be united as people who simply want to treat others as we'd expect to be treated.

Draven from RadioWv and I filmed these tunes on my land with the hope that it may hit 300k views. I still don't quite believe what has went on since we uploaded that. It's just strange to me.

So that being said, I have never taken the time to tell you who I actually am. Here's a formal introduction:
My legal name is Christopher Anthony Lunsford. My grandfather was Oliver Anthony, and "Oliver Anthony Music" is a dedication not only to him, but 1930's Appalachia where he was born and raised. Dirt floors, seven kids, hard times. At this point, I'll gladly go by Oliver because everyone knows me as such. But my friends and family still call me Chris. You can decide for yourself, either is fine.
In 2010, I dropped out of high school at age 17. I have a GED from Spruce Pine, NC. I worked multiple plant jobs in Western NC, my last being at the paper mill in McDowell county. I worked 3rd shift, 6 days a week for $14.50 an hour in a living hell. In 2013, I had a bad fall at work and fractured my skull. It forced me to move back home to Virginia. Due to complications from the injury, it took me 6 months or so before I could work again.
From 2014 until just a few days ago, I've worked outside sales in the industrial manufacturing world. My job has taken me all over Virginia and into the Carolinas, getting to know tens of thousands of other blue collar workers on job sites and in factories. Ive spent all day, everyday, for the last 10 years hearing the same story. People are SO damn tired of being neglected, divided and manipulated.
In 2019, I paid $97,500 for the property and still owe about $60,000 on it. I am living in a 27' camper with a tarp on the roof that I got off of craigslist for $750.
There's nothing special about me. I'm not a good musician, I'm not a very good person. I've spent the last 5 years struggling with mental health and using alcohol to drown it. I am sad to see the world in the state it's in, with everyone fighting with each other. I have spent many nights feeling hopeless, that the greatest country on Earth is quickly fading away.
That being said, I HATE the way the Internet has divided all of us. The Internet is a parasite, that infects the minds of humans and has their way with them. Hours wasted, goals forgotten, loved ones sitting in houses with each other distracted all day by technology made by the hands of other poor souls in sweat shops in a foreign land.
When is enough, enough? When are we going to fight for what is right again? MILLIONS have died protecting the liberties we have. Freedom of speech is such a precious gift. Never in world history has the world had the freedom it currently does. Don't let them take it away from you.
Just like those once wandering in the desert, we have lost our way from God and have let false idols distract us and divide us. It's a damn shame.

He’s the real deal, he’s turn down multiple multi million dollar music contracts since this song. The organization came across a news report on a local television station website, featuring Oliver Anthony performing at a farm festival.
Somehow, they contacted Anthony, and one of their representatives came to his mountain home with an audio tape recorder, a video camera with video tape, and a good quality microphone to tape him performing one of his songs. I’ve never heard anything so meaningful, anything so powerful or anyone pour their heart and soul out like this man. This video is a blue collar worker (no video production/editing) who shows his real, raw emotions and he’s fed up. He’s done with the bullshit that we all see but no one has the balls to say. He’s dealt with a lot of mental issues in the past and still has to deal with so much pain. Turning down $8M in offers from record labels. He is spittin facts and THIS… THIS is “woke” talk, an actual great awakening. He opens his small town performances (went from singing in front of 20 people to literally thousands) with verses from the Bible and everyone is listening. He’s the exact light that this dark world needs and holds a glimmer of hope. I pray that this changes is in a positive way and let’s us ALL come together as one.
