I also love windowsill salad crops in the winter months. We grow a lot of microgreens (radish, sunflowers, peas, beans) all sown in large flat trays of any sort with the small green shoots cut for salads when required for maximum freshness despite the weather and light levels outside. We do use a couple of grow lights but the trays stay on the windowsill and the lights are only on during darkness hours. Super fresh and a real taste of spring to come!👍
Love the vids brother and i have sown several seeds 15:28 peppers, chillies, broadbeans, French beans, cauliflower, kolrabhi, pakchoi some flowers and more and all i have sown in my home as i have no greenhouse or poly tunnel Its nice to see videos from British gardeners and they can relate to the weather Thanks for making the videos brother Khuda hafiz
I've got a box of autumn king carrots in my small poly and they are doing really well despite the cold weather. My onions and chillies are indoors until it warms up a bit. Jo Devon 🙂
Love this, thank you. Im inspired to keep sowing. I suppose the controversial is based on light levels being so low and causing seedlings to get leggy. I do find it a challenge but now have a few led light strips which is really helping. Keep them spiders folks 😀
those mushroom punnets are perfect for leek seeds. they are deep enough to sustain the plants, with an occasional liquid feed until planted out. my leeks won't go out til pots have been cleared of the early potatos.......................brian
hi just subbed i just watched your composting video , thankyou looks like ive a lot to catch up with , not got a greenhouse so it maybe a bit hit and miss with stuff ,but im determined to flipping grow something more than tomatoes and strawberries that i do every year .my garden isnt very big either so a lot will be grown in pots and troughs .
Did you water the onion seeds you just sowed ? I have just sowed some onion seeds and wondered if I should water them! I didn’t have any milk bottles so I have put a grape container over!
Hi bro, I’m confused, I grow salad every year, although last summer and spring, nothing grew??? I used great compost, but it just sat there and hardly grew? Any ideas? Thanks
Did you use store bought soil. The souls have been stunting growth recently. Also the fertilizers from animals fed hay or grass with sprayed grazon are having stunted growth. Idk
Last year we had the worst slugs I've ever seen so some seedlings may have been eaten before even being seen, that combined with the fluctuations in weather were big issues for me

great informative video 😊
Many seeds need planting in January, getting ready to put in my hazelnut seeds
I just had my seed order delivered - going to try shallot from seed this year.
Not sure if I could sow them now or not.
I'd sow them now, treat them the same as onions
@@MyFamilyGardenI think I will.
I'll sow some lettuce and chives at the same time :)

Salam brother…
Any advice on why my khodu/gourd plants are growing so thin and flimsy? Im getting height but stem is so thin!

My compost was quite moist so I didn't water, if the soil is dry then you can water, otherwise I'd leave it until any freezing temperatures are over
