EVERY SINGLE IMPORTER (online shrimp shop or local fish store) sells shrimp from Taiwan. Those shrimp are all pulled from various farms where the diseases exist in all those farms. So don't be fooled, by any importer. Its all the same quality shrimp, they die from stress or come with diseases or exposed to diseases and often time are not good quality(babies have lots of culls too). Just look at Flip Aquatics latest video. He shows his most recent import order which includes dying shrimp, shrimp with scutariella Japonica , and ellobiopsidae, and shrimp that are mixed genetics sent to him as tangerine tigers. This is the perfect example of why to buy homebred from a reputable seller whenever you can because import shrimp have a bunch of issues.
Great info, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I asked for treatments of Scutariella on several shrimp groups and got not a single response so this was quite helpful.
Dear friend I am a new shrimp keeper as of about the last five months But recently I've notices some of my cherry shrimp have something white at the end of their legs and they are swimming differently almost as being uncomfortable I don't know what this is Or how to remedy it I also have fish in the tank and apple snails Any advice would be appreciated!
I'm battling resistant Scutariella japonica in several of my tanks right now. Paraguard, salt dips, Planaria Zero and have not eradicated it. I work from home and remove moults several times a day. My biosecurity/quarantine protocol is very strict and nothing is shared amongst these tanks. Have you heard of this? Are there any more intense treatments I can try that won't kill my shrimp?
I'm pretty lucky that my blue velvet shrimp didnt have the other parasite or fungus...but they did have the scutariella japonica..good thing I caught it earlier on and they are in their own 3.7 gallon tank. I have since them aq salt dipped all 5 of my infected shrimps.
Hi, great video! What about planaria ? Spent tons of time fo fight with planaria in my tanks, but it’s still presents ((( : May be you know what to do ? Best regards
Do you have any experience with ghost shrimp? I’m looking for a shrimp that eats algae like an ammano shrimp, but ones that can reproduce well without brackish water.
Eric K, try breeding some type of Neocaridina shrimp, i've heard that they're super easy to breed. I'm actually trying to breed some Yellow Neo's at this moment.
You have to say where you bought it from so other people don't buy there and force the seller to sell healthy shrimp.

Just subcribed. Can't believe the A hole would sell disease shrimp. Planning to order my this week. 🤞
Thanks for subbing! Unfortunately this is pretty common in the Neocaridina shrimp world. Make sure to quarantine and keep a close eye on them!
Such a bummer!
Can I buy moss from you? If so, how? I have a ten gallon tank and want shrimp within the next few weeks. Love your vids and have sub'd
