OMG. I was just thinking how much they cry, talk about why they cried, and build up to another crying session of STD. The long awkward glances and uncomfortable moments of silence. It’s very visually impressive but it’s not Star Trek. Definitely not for a large portion of original fans. To me it feels like it was meant for the opposite of a Star Trek fan.
@Johnny Irenchi ENT was wretched, as were so many episodes of TOS and TNG. Thankfully, there’s no more “aliens of the week.” Voyager had terrible character development and the worthless characters of Kim and Neelix. Wesley was another Star Trek embarrassment.
I like how the writers decided to write the "Guardian of Forever" in the persona of a 1930's-40's middle-aged man, smoking a cigar while reading the newspaper.
Almost like the events of “The City at the Edge of Tomorrow” left a impact in Star Trek History. I mean, even Carl has the same newspaper that showed Edith Ketter’s life and/or death. Helps that the Guardian is both the Door and Doorman.
But will the Federation? Assuming this is a timeline reset as opposed to G getting her own private branch, she'll stop Lorca from being forced into the Federation universe (no dimension ripping explosion as he escapes) and there will be no reason for his nice counterpart to stop the shuttle taking Burnam to the penal colony after the battle of the binary stars assuming he's even alive. Without evil Lorca pushing Stamets to build him a ride home, spore drive development and the war will roll out totally differently. If this is an "Edge of Tomorrow" sort of leap (reset vs. branching) I'm wondering how/if they plan to deal with the ripples story-wise. Might be a nice way to bring back the Fed Lorca actor for the new Capt. Pike show but it's a total rewrite of Discovery's timey-whimey reality up to the moment wicked Georgiou walks through the door. Big win for the empress ... she controls the fate of multiple realities.

I remember the Crusher episode where she was figuring out why people were disappearing and she was the only one left. The computer had limits to the answers it could provide, and certainly couldn't pull something like this out of itself, leaving Crusher to do the work and make the breakthroughs
The welcoming committee looks like a bunch of school kids on some low-effort stage performance. Should have added some grandeur to the EMPEROR's arrival.

Emperor Georgiou is my favourite character in Discovery. Great to see Paul Guilfoyle back.
