    I like that idea. Onwenhu an Wallace side by side?!? That could be something special.

      That keeps Wallace at the position he played in Penn State. No fuss, no confusion and no wasted time learning a new position.

      Exactly

    Yes agree, I have been saying this since the beginning we are a better lineup having awenu as a guard where he is one of the best as far as strange I hope he’s back with the patriots he’s better than he’s getting credit and type of offense we are going with he’s good and maybe the left tackle works better than it looks

      Of course he is back with us. He signed a massive contract deal.

    I think the best things is playing the players at their best position if possible at all times

    Yes, I think the plan was, and is to have Wallace play Rt tackle. The media pushed the Pats to talk about him swithcing to Lt. All they said was that they believed Wallace could switch. They never said they would definitely be switching him.
    Onwenu is obviously a better Rt guard then tackle and would best serve to continue there. I also think that the fact that we essentially went 2 years without having an actual line coach caused the continuity issues. I think this year some young guys with proper coaching, will step up and suprise the masses! I think that we actually have a lot of talent to work with it is just a matter of finding the right combination.

    I have agreed with this from the minute Wallace lined up at RT earlier this summer.

  • @brendanlong6770
    @brendanlong6770 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Mike Onwenwu is the man. It would be great if Caeden Wallace was ready to go at RT however most of the best pass rushers currently in the NFL are playing off the edge at either DE or OLB. Ideally Wallace can play RT, if not he would likely have an easier time playing guard as long as he can adapt to the extra pulling required for the position.

      It will be interesting to see what they do! I think what ever it is….wallace will have a role!

    I like that line up and if Peterson is as good as advertised then the line this year will be better than last year

    Sounds good to me. I'm just hoping for 7+ wins this year and to have a healthy defence this year. Also play this QB play this year that has been better than last year. 24+ points on offence and holding the other team 12 points or less on defense. Go Pats 🎉.

      @jimmywong4337 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The Patriots' defense won all the games last year. If the offense can carry the team for 2 or 3 games, it will be considered heading toward the right decision.

      Defense had a sore back at the end of the year from carrying the whole team all year!

    We got all these 3rd tier recievers from Bill drafting cut or trade 2 or 3 of them and go get a true #1 🏈

    I'm a big WR/CB/S guy. Thanks for these vids man, I don't think about o-line often enough. 😂😂. I gotta try and understand it more. Completely agree with you on Onwenu, though. We need him as much as David Andrews.

    • @SportsTalkPatriots
      @SportsTalkPatriots  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Nothing wrong with no thinking about the oline a lot but everything flows from their success, without a serviceable line…your screwed haha Onwenu is a big piece, just will be interesting to see where they put him ultimately

    Id still like to see sidy sow get reps at tackle too

      I have seen that he might not even make the 53 man roster! What's your reasoning that he get the starting LT job?

    • @Bluewatercat
      @Bluewatercat หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SportsTalkPatriots he has the most reps at LT in the NFL I believe.
      Good athlete. Good measurables. Was on the rise before last season.
      Far better athlete and moving skills than chukwuma.
      LT Anderson, Tyrone Wheatley
      RT caeden, chukwuma
      With sidy sow getting reps and developing there too.

      I wouldn’t count on Cole Strange playing much this season? I like Onweno at Right Guard and leaving the rookie Wallace at Right Tackle- go for it!

    Don't laugh guys . But? I'm a 66 y.o. guy that has watched as a long time Pats fan? The way back vets and big players in their right. Like ? Von or Vaughn ? And Fryar . And even further back ? Sam Bam . And John Hannah. But im still a Patriot . Despite what a lot is said? The original Boston Patriots ... New England Patriots? The team in my book over several decades has always been a team that has boasted steep history with some of ? Not just team greats but actually ? League greats. Yep even long before the Kraft ownership? There were some individual players in the organization that were greats. I watched the 86 Superbowl loss with number 11 Tony Eason as QB lose to the Bears in that one but? To see a team such as the Patriots struggle through the decades to become a " Dynasty"? I will never ever forget those who stood on the line of both sides and made some super great plays on the gridiron of the Patriots . In close ? Speaking for myself? At my age ? I remember those greats of the past Patriots and said way back then? When the Sullivan family owned the Pat's? All we really needed was an owner who could help place strong leadership into the team. So? Myself reflecting? I thank the legends of the Pat's that muscled their own ways to claim and help prove to the AFL/ NFL ? Those who took the hits and threw some licks on the field to help set the pace to bring the team to where they are today. I am A Patriot for life.

    Didnt take you for a trenches guy! Games are won and lost in the trenches with the big uglies. My main concern is guys up front playing out of their natural position. I dont even want to see Maye behind this OL, at least not the current iteration, chemistry and communication is so important up front, want to see a sample size before throwing Maye into the fire.

    • @SportsTalkPatriots
      @SportsTalkPatriots  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Big trenches guy! I agree 100%...if this line ends up being a dumpster fire then they have no rush to put Maye behind that line. Gotta set him up for success. All rational reasoning points to the Pats drafting a olineman next year and mostly likely a top 10 pick! Even if the line proves us all wrong this year, I think it is still important to ease Maye into game play....because this schedule aint easy.

    Fella you got to get off the qb2 for Drake May he's not a regular player he's a franchise quarterback in the making so you make it happen by giving him the time to do it you have the time to do it only if we can practice as a starter get it

      You are okay with throwing him into an offense with a questionable line and young receivers?
