Hi all, I'm Gus's dad, Sandy... Just wanted to drop a comment as the trip gets underway. Words cannot do justice to what a gift this trip was for me. I was there to fill in as a second hand only where one hand would be hard to suffice - docking, getting through canals, cooking... I was there basically to enjoy the adventure and barely had to do anything, lol. On the other hand, Gus pretty much took care of everything. The knowledge, practical skill, energy, and being cool under pressure is/was something to behold... and again, words cannot describe how proud and impressed I was; hard not getting emotional about it. It seemed every day stuff went sideways and Gus would just take care of things as they popped up. Navigating some pretty tricky areas we never hit anything (other than the occasional log in the canal) and never ran aground. We took care of the boat as if it were our own and with gratitude to the owner which ended up being a big win-win for both parties. Yes, I was on my phone a lot (lol), but usually long periods off the phone too, out on deck enjoying the sheer majesty of the ocean, rivers, canals, military and commercial vessels, infrastructure... just amazing! I was just so grateful to be there doing this together with my son.

A gift given between son and dad. You have every right to be proud, from what I have seen on his channel he is a good man. All the best!

You have raised a "rock star" son and should be very proud, I hope I have instilled some of the same values in my son as you have done in yours!

Thank you, good people... he is truly my "Man in the Arena", and I bless the great people that have come into his life, worked/working the "win-win" with him, kept the faith, the karma as he works honorably to make it happen for himself while enriching those around him. It's all him and mostly all I can offer is the unbounded love and support of a dad, keeping it real in life💖

How great that you get to do this with your Dad, tell him he looks like a teenager constantly looking at his phone. Dad put it down and enjoy the view and the fact you’re in the midst of a trip with your son, that’s a dream to so many of us! So stoked for your two!

Hey Gus, a while back I had a searay 360 aft cabin with the same weird vibration. slow cruising it was very noticeable and taking it up a few more knots made it basically disappear. Turns out it was a bad strut bushing on the port side. Great video!

What a beautiful part of the Intercoastal and this canals & rivers! That really seems to be a wonderful cruising power boat, but filling the tank looks scary indeed! Hope you aren’t paying for It!

Loving this delivery trip in the Albin 32+2. I owned a slightly tweaked version of the 32+2 called an Albin 35 Command Bridge and took it from Detroit to Jamestown RI across Lake Erie, Erie Canal, and Hudson River. My boat had a Yanmar instead of he Cat -- I think it was a 500 but can't recall exactly. The Cat sounds a bit harsher than the Yanmar which was fairly smooth and quiet. Mine cruised very easily at 16-17 knots, could cruise at 20 knots if needed. A good boat, terrific master cabin, handled pretty well, command bridge was a bit cramped.
Neat that you can do the delivery with your Dad -- what good memories this will produce. As usual your videos are informative and entertaining. Nice work.

    Outrageous fuel prices, Gus!🤯
    Your Dad's in great shape...military background? 💪
Have a good trip...that vibration is worrisome. Smart to run at a higher RPM if that eliminated it....even if it burns more fuel. 😉🛥⚓️
    Old guy approved! 🌴😎

My truck only takes 30 gallons but $5.99 is a normal California price for diesel. I believe at it's peak it was $6.50 and had to be more at a fuel dock.
Beautiful boat you got there and living the life!

Is there a one to three day trip in NC you would recommend for a 22 ft tritoon pontoon with a 150 HP outboard? Sleeping on board is no problem. Would need to acquire fuel at some point. It could be an up and back trip or a one way.
