this is very helpful, initially I felt when i started my foundation year I was so worried about money next year but the further I get into my foundation year, I start to care about money less and less and realise that my experience and presentation of my skills in terms of treatment planning and communication to the patient needs to increase if i want to offer complex and fulfilling comprehensive restorative plans privately, i need to get more confident and offering a good standard of treatment on a lesser NHS contract would be more beneficial long term than if i rush, stress and burn myself out seeing 35 patients a day. This is also really making me consider applying for DCT next year. so many options, its hard choosing what to do and where, atleast we're in demand
No definitely not! I just started with the NHS as a plve dentist. So essentially with zero nhs experience just thrown in and the concept of Clawback became very real and scary pretty fast. I'm lucky in that I could return some UDAs but the system is extremely stressful and leaves you deskilled. Private and NHS mix is definitely the way to go like you said. With more private and less nhs. I've finally got the hang of it.. I think.. But I still find myself rushing through treatments and working faster than I'd like just so I can meet my uda quota.
great video! a video on how you transitioned from nhs to private and how costs work/paying lab fees in the private sector would be very helpful!
@@-reyna-928 thanks for the suggestions!

@@ramn agreed it is hard to navigate all of this, the key is not to get comfortable and stuck in a cycle. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
