    Just a suggestion for anyone that is considering wrapping this, you'll want to start from the top, then work your way to the bottom of the trim, because as you can see in the video, dust falls straight onto the sticky part of vinyl, and it will create dirt bumps under the vinyl.

      No. You always wrap from small to big. If you wrap from big to small you’ll have wrinkles. If you’re worried about dust, do it in the garage like I did. My trim has no bubbles and no problems. As soon as it got some time in the sun it went glossy smooth. Just like its designed to. I’ve had several gigs with the local BMW dealership wrapping trim for customer cars. Just a suggestion for anyone considering wrapping their trim, follow the videos instructions for best results.

      Tenza Motorsports Tenza Motorsports I have professionally wrapped cars with a company, and have done countless number of chrome deletes around the windows. You can even see all the white specks and flakes sticking to the vinyl in your own video at 2:11 when you were tucking the bottom of the vinyl in first. Im looking at it from a professional standpoint, I understand your audience is doing this at home, so maybe they won’t be concerned because it’s their personal car. Nobody is paying them for quality work.

      Tenza Motorsports especially at 2:29 you can see all the white dust specks on the vinyl

      The white specks you see are from the gloves I'm wearing. It's not dust. I couldn't find my soft gloves I use for vinyl installs so I used glove liners. This won't be a problem for people doing this project at home if you don't wear the liners I was wearing.
      As far as actual dust. I haven't had any issues with the way I was wrapping. If you wrap from top to bottom you'll get wrinkles on the Hofmeister kink in the rear. Thats why I start at the smaller surface the move to the larger surface. The wrap only sits exposed for around 10 minutes.

    Some wrap shops actually take the trim off. I had a place charge me 600 for a full chrome delete and they broke my trim off🤣🤣😳

    How is the vinyl holding up? Is your car garage kept or outside? Almost everything I have found on the Oracal 651 shows it more as an arts and craft type of vinyl and does not hold up to the outdoors, rain, and washing.
    With it about half the price of 3M and others it makes me think maybe this is true. Also, I have not found any places that sell vinyl for auto's sell this.

      It’s interesting that you found information that makes it sound like it’s not be designed for outside. This says it’s outdoor vinyl, designed for outdoors. the trim vinyl is still on there today. it looks fantastic and spent almost this entire last year outside. I use the same vinyl for all of my custom stickers and I haven’t had anything crack or fall apart yet. I think my longest example is close to five years old.

      @@TenzaMotorsports You probably don't want to hear that so I hope you're not offended. I have an E92 in titanium silver and the chrome on it is all screwed. Tomorrow I'm gonna try to polish it because I really like the way chrome looks on silver cars like yours. Yeah it's a pain in the ass to clean. If I had any other color BMW, I would go with black for sure. I just like the way the chrome looks on a silver BMW.

      All opinions are appreciated! I agree some colors work better with chrome. This metallic Champaign color I have just looked boring with the chrome. Plus I needed the video content lol.

      I thought the chrome would look better till I saw a couple cars and changed my mind.

    How long did this hold up? Im thinking of doing this to my E46 but was gonna use 3m gloss black

      It’s a 3-10 year solution. Depends on if you garage your car or not. This one is still going strong and spends a lot of time outside

    I allways remove the trim because I want the vinyl to stick behind it.

  • @MeanBoy76

    I tried this on my e92. The rear part of the top lower trim I can tuck the vinyl into the weather stripping but for the bottom part of the top trim by the door there’s no way to do this. I cut it right under but my vivid vinyl does not stick. Also the top part of the trim doesn’t stick. What am I doing wrong that it’s not sticking? Thanks!

    • @TenzaMotorsports
      @TenzaMotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never worked with vivvid products before. A clean surface and proper vinyl instructions is all I can say.

    How did you end up wrapping those sharp curves behind the quarter windows? Did you apply some heat to allow the vinyl to stretch?

    • @TenzaMotorsports
      @TenzaMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wrap like 85% of those corners without heat. I will only add heat to relax the vinyl, not to stretch it.

      The Hoffmeister kink is where I’ve failed this twice now - it would be really helpful to see how it’s done.
