- In this video I am installing this 2.4Ghz Wireless Reversing Camera Transmitter and Receiver from Hippcron. These devices are super cool because you can use them to make your cars exsisting reversing camera or any other camera, wireless. They are very easy to install and work great with a fast connection speed as you will see in this video.

Hello,
It's a very nice video.
I have one question: How did HU automatically turn on camera mode when you switch to reverse?
Is it based on CAN BUS signal, or transmitter somehow gives the signal through video cable?
Thanks. For this video I was actually just testing it through the auxiliary input of the HU so once ignition is turned on and car is in reverse both the transmitter and receiver are then powered up and the Image is displayed. Your right some HU do it through the canbus but unfortunately the older maseratis aren't setup that way so only option is to run a wire from reverse switch to HU. Once HU recieves a power source input from the reverse switch the HU automatically switches to the reverse camera mode screen. It would be so much easier if Maserati did it through the canbus though but they dont

Thank you for replay!
So, just to confirm, if both (transmitter and receiver) get power, video signal will go through, and that is triggering camera mode in HU?
I also want to try something similar on Volvo XC60. I want to use wireless system without installing additional cables through the car. This cheap variant seems like a nice workaround :)
@draganmijatovic7203 Nah, camera mode is a built in feature of the specific HU. Providing the transmitter and reciever are both powered up there is then a valid video signal being transmitted and the camera image will then be displayed on the compatible HU or display monitor that you have setup in your vehicle
Hi i have a android head unit so the red wire goes to ignition and black to ground? I think my head unit also has a back up trigger wire do i slso attach it to the red/ignition wire?
@Box-po4jz if your android auto head unit has a backup wire then you can put the red wire of both the transmitter and reciever to that. If it doesn't then putting the red wire to ignition will also work yes or you can just run a wire from the backup light or switch. The black wire goes to ground for both of them.
Thank you for the video. Exactly what I was looking for. Can the parking lines be adjusted? Or is that camera specific?
Yeh I thought that would be better for what you were wanting to do. No, the adjustable parking lines is a feature of the 5G Camera app only, I've never seen any Camera with that feature before
@@SHORTwithTECH thank you. I'll see what I can do. The camera + transmitters are coming in around $15. I'll get a monitor for the car, it's a 2003 Toyota model. So doesn't have built in space for the monitor. I'll just get one that sits on top of the dash board.
@@SHORTwithTECH also would you know by any chance know how to get Google maps to work on a monitor on the car? I don't want to use the phone. Just provide internet access to the monitor, have an app figure out Google maps with my saved locations. Or is that asking for a more integrated solution and more expensive?
@asderven yeh it's also a very cheap investment aswell
@asderven yes, there are lots of aftermarket Android Auto/CarPlay systems available today that will mount onto the top of your dashboard. Just make sure the one you buy has a video input and then you can use it as the camera monitor aswell.
Hi I’m trying to install the camera aswell. Been almost done but the red and black wire.. where do they need to go? Because I can’t find it anywhere 😅 and I don’t want mess with the cabling. Thanks for the video!
@xproductions7840 The red wire goes to your Reverse Light and the black wire goes to Ground
How to tap power for receiver at android unit - wat wire do I connect to
@KBSTopAgent You can connect to the reverse wire coming from the reversing switch or else you can connect to the switched ignition wire. And put the black wire to Ground of course,, hope that helps you
Hello I want to add a reverse camera and use my iPhone as the screen in my car. As you stated in the video it seems there is a time lag when the car is put into reverse and the image shows on the phone. Do you know if there is a transmitter similar to the one in this video that will send a wireless signal to a IPhone and not need the receiving transmitter?
No unfortunately not because to display the camera image on your iPhone you have to use an app so this wifi camera is the only other option th-cam.com/video/PxCPXWZz0sM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=z23w15aZgwZejlX1 There is always going to be a delay when using a phone for a reversing camera and for that reason your better off using a dedicated monitor or a carplay/android auto system
4:58 hardly matters when you transmit the video over composite.
Thanks for your comment, have a great day
