Where your video ends, on the right-hand side, as the road turns inland to Yaverland Manor, there was a dog breeding kennels in the early 1960s. My brother bought a dachshund puppy there. The site looks to be a car park now. We had many a game of pitch and putt at Brown's golf course, followed by a large ice-cream cornet. Many happy memories of this walk.
Your videos are the next best thing to being there. Excellent as always. Thank you.

Holidayed there for 14 years
Lovely walk along the seafront we did this walk from Shanklin to Sandown and back throughly enjoyed it last July 2019
Used to fish off the pier as a youngster, and walked many times up to the old Yaverland fort before it was sadly demolished. Excellent walk as always.

I see the grand hotel is still there I know it has been demolished I stayed in there in the early 1960s
It’s a pity old sandown has gone had 6 years good holidays there in the late 70 early 80 we had Hoppers beach huts great times
Now private huts not same went there October 2021
Sorry to say sandown & yavaland looks like a dump.
We rented cottage nearly two weeks during vacation. Was out running every day- nice. But Sandown Pier you were passing is disaster- bar, gambling and children's room under the one roof. Pretty miserable society there
You mean the same as ALL seaside piers? Believe me, Sandown Pier is tame compared with so many others around the country!!
