To be fair, the Chinese one is a kit for people who want to make their own approximation of the grail diary. Ramseyprops is legit quality, and that's reflected in the price. Great video!
Amazed!! It’s so much more authentic looking than the Chinese version. Add it to the list of things I want! That movie is probably my favorite movie of all time. Great review!

The price seems pretty reasonable for a thing that is not mass produced and requires a lot of hand finish. For hardcore fans of the franchise this is definitely a must.

Hi, thank you for the great content. I bought the cheap Chinese diary. I knew it wasn’t a screen accurate replica, because I did my research before buying. Of course the Ramsey version is much better, but it costs 10 times the cost of the Chinese one. But what I can say, is the Chinese one is great fun to paint, weather and craft to make it look older and more like the genuine movie prop. 👍
I bought the Chinese one for a Halloween costume, and while I know it’s not very close to the movie prop, I still really like it.
The "photo of something" at 9:23 is the Nanteos Grail cup, kept at the National Library of Wales.

I ended up buying the Chinese knockoff one on amazon. Didn't end up paying too much for it but all the inserts were wrong and it doesn't represent the one from the movie at all. This one here is one worth getting but sadly I don't think RamseyProps exist anymore.

My son just got one of those. It is very nice. He is an Indy nut. He has the right coat, hat boots, bag, shirt, belt, and whip. I mean the most authentic you can get. Oh yeah, in case you missed it. It has Hilter's autograph, as in the movie he signed it.
Great, great video…thank you for sharing. Considering all the time that has gone into this, $250 seems like a bargain. I would have however liked to have seen more if the Chinese one just for comparison.

I bought the Chinese one, was massively impressed with what I got for £20 vs £200! Put a bit of time in hand weathering it and it looks fantastic! Don't understand the complaints for the money tbh! Mine didn't break apart when i got it though, and didn't break during any of the extreme weathering i gave it.. don't know if you were just unlucky or got yours from a different maker..
I'm glad you like yours. My chinese version split apart the first or second time I opened it.
All of the inserts were just printed on the same paper and nothing to write home about, but post weathering look the part.. I did consider redoing them but it lives in a display cabinet, so it seemed a wasted effort
I bought the China version for 10€ and it's a great basis for making something out of it. Of course, a prop that costs 250$ is worlds better.
You're comparing a Fiat Panda with a Ferrari, which isn't exactly fair.
But of course you are right 70$ for the China version is far too expensive, unfortunately there are suppliers who clearly cheat with the price. I've always seen the book for around 10€ - 20€.

I was on the fence about the Ramseyprops grail diary. I decided to purchase mine from Dave Magginnis. Its on an insane other level of authenticity. Dave hand crafts his to an obsessive degree. It almost makes the Ramseyprops one look like the Chinese knockoff lol.

I tried to get a Ramseyprops one for months just for him to never deliver. Based off your comment, I tracked down Dave Magginnis on Facebook and immediately bought one of his. Holy smokes is it amazing. Thanks for the recommendation.

I have the Chinese version, I put the inserts inside my Indiana Jones trilogy book as additional information. Mine never came with the Grail Tablet rubbing and the X marks the spot paper. Oh well what do expect for £12.99 adding £7.99 P &P .. I wish I can afford the Rameses prop version..❤

There are ads going around on games now advertising a grail diary for around $25. It looks like they have used a video from maybe the guy who made this. He talks about the cowhide leather, soaking the pages in coffee then putting them in the microwave for the ageing effect & you can find it on numerous dubious websites

Nope, thats not me. Ive never made a tutorial vid (except for the one that goes with our kit), nor do I use coffee or a microwave (except in dire circustances). Id love to do a full tutorial video, but Ive hard enough with the Chinese rip-offs stealing from our work.

They stole $272.25 from me for this and said they were just running behind when I asked for a refund, then shut down their shop, as well as all the emails associated with their account. Thieves. Do not send them money if you find them.
I have to be 100% honest, the handmade version is definitely superior to the Chinese one, but the prints are of poor quality. It's one of the worst handmade diaries I've seen (considering that it's a reasonably decent product). The font used does not match the one from the original diary in the film, and the sequence of the pages is not quite representative of the original, according to fan reconstructions. There are much better Grail diaries available online, obviously still handmade, not made in China.
