Tip for anyone who doesn't know & is only just finding this years later: You can actually use the Rogue Knight as a legendary farming method too! If you shoot his fusion core to force him outside of his armour, then kill him, he'll not only drop The Gat on the floor but he'll also have a randomised legendary item on him!
Okay the way u trigger the quest is every time u go to the commonwealth and then fast travel to nuka world and walk though the gates it happens more if you have finished nuka world dlc after power play thanks for reading this

i think it would be interesting if when you fight the rogue knight if you wear any BoS armor you can have a unique conversation with him, and you should be able to tell maxon about it
In order to trigger the event you do not have to go through the whole gauntlet, you only have to open the door from the gauntlet to the cola cars, which you can easily do by just exiting cola cars and going back in from the back door
@@Reapergaming126 Not random. Go next to the cola cars and walk up the wooden planks to that area where you can walk above the gaunlet below you. Just wander back and forth *above* the *back* door to the cola cars arena. It'll give you the quest over and over within 5 minutes every time. Ussually it takes less than 1 minute to trigger. I finished all of them in less than 20 minutes on survival. Its not random, it just *can* be random, if you don't trigger it yourself.
Amoral Combat just started on it's own for me, around the time I cleared Nuka World. After that, seemed like every time I showed up into Nuka Town I heard the sirens going off. Never had a problem with the incoming victim not clearing the locker room either. Not seen the Rogue Knight yet tho, had switched characters to try a different playthrough before I'd done all that many. Will have to stick around longer on this one and see if he makes an appearance.
I was watching this video and was gonna start that mission but then realized that i already defeated the rogue knight, so i went to the corpse before it vanished with another enemy to battle, I searched around and found that weapon and i freaked out, I started singing the ghost busters theme song while shooting unlimited blasts every where
+Jaque Mate Well....the part about something strange being in your neighborhood matches *Man jumps off a roof firing a laser minigun singing the ghostbusters theme song*
take 3 settlements in commonwealth under the quest that is given (i dont remember what it is but u have to take all of the sectors in nuka world) then the next time you return it should get activated and 5th time is supposed to be when the rogue night comes.
Once this quest started, which I think for me was after taking control of all of the nuka world parks, it always happens now and is annoying you need to go to the nuka cade first every time. The enemies always come out hostile to me, so it's not bugged for me. Thanks for the tip though on this knight enemy. :)
Aeternus is not the only way to get a infinite ammo weapon(barring melee weapons but they don't count) any random legendary Gatling Laser that has the unlimited ammo count effect on it has this glitch as well..... it's just that Aeternus is the only guarantee way to get the effect on the weapon you want for infinite ammo
confirmed to work for me add well on PS4; however, instead of going through the entire gauntlet again, exit the cola cars and turn left, go up the steps and across the chain grate ceiling that is above the final portion of the gauntlet. on the other side, there is a chained door on the back side of the barn. open it and pick the lock on the next door. Go through the last portion of the gauntlet and into the back door of Cola Cars and it triggers again.
BEST WAY TO GET!: Complete Power Play and conquer all the parks then start doing random quests for any gang leader (Mason is the best choice) as you go back and forth between Nuka World and The Commonwealth. You'll start to get the Amoral Combat quest. Do it all over again until you get the Aeternus on The Rogue Knight. (Plus you get caps from the missions you'll do from the gang leaders) Happy hunting! :D
After doing your method several times i tried just to enter and exit the cola cars and it worked, the quest appeared everytime i did this. Worked for me
It's suppose to just pop up. You can wait in a chair hour by hour and it can pop up. It can happen at any time in the quest line. Not sure if it's a set line of challengers but it seems to be up to a certain point it is a set line of challengers (at least for me) that will show up.
I'm hoping obsidian makes the new Fallout and considers new game plus...I mean there shouldn't be any problem scaling enemies to a high level starting game
I never use the monorail. I just came back from the commonwealth and got the quest. Some raiders will just yell to u saying someone is in the gauntlet.
Ive gotten the quest twice and i didnt do anything he says. I was just going back and forth from the commonwealth to shank for a quest. Just walking around the main area and someone will give u it.
What I did to trigger this quest was to just run out the exit by the Cola Cars arena, go over to the Shovel Museum quick to murder a legendary or two, and then came back through the same doorway. More often than not it seems to trigger the alarm.
I recall a New Vegas legendary gauss rifle that looked identical to the standard gauss rifle (kind of annoyed that they completely changed the appearance of the Gauss Rifle btw). the only unique weapons that i remember is the Bumper Sword and That Gun
Uniques usually had the same model, just with altered textures. Like Lucky for example. It's model is still just a normal 357 magnum, but it's texture is silver and black with engravings and a clover on the grip.
i found a good way to get it to trigger is when you finish one, go back to the gauntlet like the first room outside the cola cars, then go back in and out the other side to nuka town. it triggered it for me and it also happened to be the one that i got the rogue knight.
Actually just got the weapon before seeing the video. Thought the weapon was cool but didn't know it was rare beyond it being a legendary since I'd seen the perk on other weapons. Just to throw my two cents in, the "method" I used was similar to the up-loaders. Rather than running the gauntlet repeatedly I just fast traveled from The Commonwealth to Nukaworld, usually to pick up the accumulated caps from settlements. The quest would just activate without anyone running up to tell me. Personally I found it a nuisance till Aeterus dropped and would sometimes purposely not complete the quest just so it wouldn't begin every time I went back to NW.
Try finding the other Legendary Gatling lasers in Nuka World. I have Aeternus Assassin's Gatling Laser and Crippling Gatling laser. There probably is more out there in Nuka world.
There was a similar weapon that you got for killing elder Maxim, I thought it also had unlimited ammo but it was using fusion cores and it drained them in a very weird way. Instead of draining them one at a time it would take a little rom each one.
A* not "the" quantum deathclaw, as far as I understand it's just the nuka world variant of a deathclaw, not a single unique enemy. I read they start spawning when you're level 41 but that's just based on speculation. I have yet to see any deathclaws in nuka-world. Besides those lame ass "gatorclaws."
And here we have the windshear of Fallout 4. A weapon with a special effect that due to a bug is way more powerful than it should be.The reason for this is the strange way the Gatling Laser's ammo works, which is also why this effect can't spawn on random legendaries.
I got this quest occasionally when I would fast travel straight to nuka town USA and the reason that the challengers appeared bugged in your game is because the door in front of them is supposed to be closed.
Same here. I think laser mini guns just use up fusion cores slowly. I switched to standard barrel which has a faster fire rate and it used up my fusion cores
I think its the fact the gun specifically comes with "charging" barrels. Unlimited ammo, plus charging barrels = no use of fusion cores. I could be wrong though, still it should be experimented with.
the one thing I hate about legendary weapons is most of the properties are terrible and don't help, and some are amazing, like cryo explosive or fire prefixes, but then you have like +1 luck or 150% damage resistants when reloading
+Matt Habay Good sir, it's the wasteland. EVERYONE IS LUNATICS. They're just the only lunatics that truly help me without making me fight against the whole of the above ground.
That actually does more damage to my fusion cores than normally. It keeps thinking the amount of my fusion cores I have as the strength of the core and repeatedly keeps going after more cores
it doesnt, i did what you said and nothing happened, this is probaly because its the free the traders ending, thats cause a raider tells you someone came, not a trader.
I didn't have to run through the gauntlet again, you just have to leave the cell and wait 24 hours. Going to Safari and sleeping for 24 hours before coming back and it worked
The bridge in the gauntlet collapsed on my first rerunning of it , but running in and out of the last door has triggered it though still no knight , four down , hopefully not to many to go .

Great video, for me the quest isn't bugged, I've done it a few times already and already have it waiting again, no idea I could get a weapon like this though so I'm going to keep doing it until I get this

oh and the time it didnt work i did not close the red door at the very beggining of the gauntlet by the stairwell. not sure if thats just a conincidence it probably is but you might just want to do it just in case
Tried this. He's the 5th combatant. What I did was wait about 2-3 days inside and walk out then it should appear. I dont think the quest works once you killed all the raiders
You can free the slaves and make Nuka World a trading hub and that is technically an ending but I would suggest getting as much loot from them as you can before ending things
Just walking around people in Nuka World they mention hearing of a new challenger, i never had to do anything drastic like redoing the gauntlet or fast traveling. Then i talk to the boss or the arcade
Anyone else wish you could hype up or like yell stuff like "ARE YOU READY TO BE ENTERTAINED" or "ARE YOU READY FOR A FIGHT?" to the spectating raiders in the arena?
I play in the new survival mode so fast travel not an option, so I have to take the monorail and that all I had to do. you shouldn't have to run the gauntlet at all, and it hasn't bugged out for me.
Be aware of this “legendary” weapon as even though it has unlimited ammo, every single time you take it out and fire it, it drains a fusion core to 20%. So honestly if you wanna use this thing it’s not gonna work with power armor, you need to stash your fusion cores at a base just don’t keep them on you because every time you fast travel or sometimes even when you switch weapons it will destroy a brand new fusion core every time which honestly ruins the weapon for me as I only use heavy weapons with power armor. That being said if you just store your cores at home then it’s incredibly OP
It's a seqenc of enemies. It's not random. I don't have aeternus, but I know it's a sequence, and after the rogue knight, it's just super mutants, raiders, and gunners
How does a Gatling laser use ammo? Like when you reload does it use the fusion cores to reload or just the charges of a fusion core? (Yes I'm talking about a regular Gatling laser)
Through fusion cores. With aeternus it drains 1 core completely but it can shoot forever. Also the drained core doesn't disappear. You need at least 2 or 3 cores, its a buggy weapon. Don't use vats, it'll use whole cores per 1 shot.
My character is so buggy that all my weapons damage is at 5000k plus? I’m so confused My problem solver is at 5.1k damage and my explosive shotgun is at 22k damage? Is this game bugged because I’m one tapping big monsters at level 53?
what worked for me is skiping the run through the gauntlet step and just enter, and exit the arena doors multiple times, i dont think the entire run through is necessary
Tip for anyone who doesn't know & is only just finding this years later: You can actually use the Rogue Knight as a legendary farming method too! You can free the slaves and make Nuka World a trading hub and that is technically an ending but I would suggest getting as much loot from them as you can before ending things
Is the rogue knight a character you can keep alive as some sort of special person? Or is he just a special challenger and nothing else?
for me this was triggered when i completed radiant missions for the raider leaders and came back to nuka town
You can fasttravel around too. This quest goes with time. Sorry for my bad english im german.
Just walking around people in Nuka World they mention hearing of a new challenger, i never had to do anything drastic like redoing the gauntlet or fast traveling. Then i talk to the boss or the arcade
You have the finish the grand tour, that’s it.
Bro aint gon lie that intro is fire af
All you need to do is complete the grand tour quest and then go to nuke town and talk to raider NPCs and they will probable give you the quest
Tip : the normal barrel is better than the charched one in this gatling lazer
Depends on enemy armor. Higher armor means less damage. The stagger effect works better with standard barrel though.
The intro was so cool
If u change it to a standard capacitor it shoots much faster
Heh, I've gotten this weapon like 8 times (Rogue Knight) such easy caps, sells for 'round 3.5 - 4.6k caps.
Quick way to make te caps for the unique marine combat armor
Farming water is easier and more effective
Good intro 👍👍👍
Its probably a bug with the fusion cores as 1 core = 500 shots for the gatling laser and i guess the game doesn't know that to do with both numbers
You went through all of that, but I just got told by a random Operator in the market. Gaunlet not required.
It's a seqenc of enemies. It's not random. I don't have aeternus, but I know it's a sequence, and after the rogue knight, it's just super mutants, raiders, and gunners
I had a guy called Sabot come through the gauntlet for Amoral combat with NO Aeternus.
can u still get the aturnus if u do the good ending please answer?
How does a Gatling laser use ammo? Like when you reload does it use the fusion cores to reload or just the charges of a fusion core? (Yes I'm talking about a regular Gatling laser)
Through fusion cores. With aeternus it drains 1 core completely but it can shoot forever. Also the drained core doesn't disappear. You need at least 2 or 3 cores, its a buggy weapon. Don't use vats, it'll use whole cores per 1 shot.
I've gotten the quest twice, without doing this.
It happens for me about every 4 or 5 times I travel to Nuka World.
the quest actually comes back byitself so you don't need to do that you wasted your time going though it to activate it cus it activates by itself
+TwoDynamic can you please make a vid where u mix and match pieces of power armor to make custom sets, I've been looking all over but can't find any
If the guy who spawns is random perhaps saving the game before the fight while outside of the arena and loading back to that will change the guy.
I was playing fallout 4 and watching this video and the quest started
