    As we embrace online business meetings, virtual meeting etiquette is becoming increasingly more important. Which tips will you be incorporating during your next virtual meeting?

    Noted, Adriana! I would like to share to make sure everything is set before the meeting so you won't encounter technical difficulties at the start of the meeting time!

      There is nothing worse than logging on only to find out you can actually get on the meeting. Hiccups will always happen with the internet but making sure your connected and online before the scheduled meeting will save yourself some frustration. Thanks for watching and take care! Cheers!

    These are super great. There so many things that can go wrong on virtual meeting. People talking over each other and things like that. But we are getting used to slowly to this process.

    Love these virtual meeting etiquette tips! I can't stand when someone has bad lighting. Especially when everyone else has great lighting it makes that one person with bad lighting seem just disconnected. Thanks for sharing these tips, I'm definitely going to apply these video conference best practices!

    As a developer I highly disagree with zoom “etiquette” and other kinds of business etiquettes that aren’t relevant in today’s world.
    Most tech companies will do daily scrums meeting, I know ppl who work on the bed, some do the meeting while eating breakfast, some do it with the camera facing their foreheads.
    It really doesn’t affect their productivity, nor their ability to solve problems and work well.
    As a matter of fact, I came to realise that most ppl that focus too much on appearances aren’t that great at their jobs and use it as a way of make it up for it.
    Maybe this stuff is still relevant for some business that lives on appearances, but for jobs that requires talented skilled ppl like developers, I really don’t care if they turn on the camera or not, we just need ppl who can deliver.
    I want to make sure that you guys understand that I have nothing against this video, it’s great that someone took the time to help others, I am just saying that appearances is not equal produtivity, and produtivity is what holds economy up

      Hi Nathan...thanks so much for watching the video and for your comment. Every industry/group is different regarding etiquette standards.The take away is to focus on whatever etiquette rules (formal or informal) your group follows and to always be open to new ideas to make virtual meetings better.

    Thanks for these tips on virtual meeting etiquette which we can all use these days. Especially love the camera angle tip and the lighting! The camera angle is so important for people to be able to see you properly but also for the your own ergonomic position during the meeting. If you spend hours in virtual meetings now and your head is bent forward and down looking into your computer, you get a very stiff neck and sore back at the end of the day! Much better to put it on a stand and look directly into the computer at eye level. Thanks.

    Overhogging the action if you are not a moderator in a virtual meeting (especially on Zoom) is not appropriate. If you do that at the wrong time, the moderator has a right to subject you to -
    1. A mute-off of your audio if the audio is inappropriate - or;
    2. A mute-off of your video if the video is inappropriate - or;
    3. The "execution chair mute-off" - the "removal" from the virtual meeting - that means you are not only muted off both in audio and video - you are kicked off the meeting, and you will not be welcomed back!!!!!!!

    I live in a rural and remote area that doesn’t have the best internet. I have to ask participants to turn off camera to reduce the load on the bandwidth. I find it too distracting if there’s too many lags and the computers freeze.

      @AdrianaGirdler  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great way to solve a technical issue. In an instance like this the most important part is to keep the team productive in the meeting and if it means turning off video to ensure that, I give it a thumbs up! Thanks for watching, cheers!
