I've been looking at either a Cat 289 or an ASV 75, I really like the ASVs feature set and the new MAX series improvements and how much better it handles in snow/mud etc. Biggest drawback is the nearest dealer is almost an almost 4 1/2 hour drive from me where as CAT is About an hour to hour and a half drive :/
Not really. It would be just like checking your fuel mileage at the pump. Start with a full tank then measure how much fuel it takes to fill up after a specific task.
@@daven1151 Its the pump gauge. We have transfer tanks OnSite. Currently I'd need to upgrade the pumps on the truck to have gauges. Easy and possible to do, haven't done it yet.
I run ASV and we just got a Cat 259D3. I cannot stand the Cat. The electric over hydraulic is so annoying. I'm comfortable getting an inch from a house in an ASV but not in a Cat
Maybe you could add a weight lift and carry competition. The vertical lift cat might have the edge on the radial lift asv even though I prefer radial because of less wear points.

Both work great, go with the best dealer. Good service center matters.
Also a fuel consumption test. Fill both machines and have each machine move that pile of dirt or sand twice. Then see how much fuel each burned.
Would be an excellent test, yet difficult to pull off.

Man u can really tell their favorite. I own both of these machines. They are both neck and neck.

Really cool. Good stuff.
That you Mr. VIC!
OnSiteTrav Ya it’s me. Crazy Vic here! 🙈
When you buy a cat you pay for that expensive sticker and fancy cat paint.
100% but you also the excellent parts and dealership support.
The ASV may be better designed, faster and more powerful but it isn't as reliable and that's where the Cat wins every time.

Lift tests I figured out comparisons by using a water tank. It shows clearly on video a machines lifting power.
@@OnSiteTrav what video was that on? Which one did the best?
