Ok so big point; The spell doesn't say Fiona would take *her* true form. It says "take love's true form", ie that she'll take the form of whatever her true love happened to be. It just so happened that her true love was an Ogre too.

Fiona was locked away in that tower for years with no one but a dragon to keep her company. Her spending her time practicing self-defense is entirely within the realm of possibility, especially given how much this movie takes classic fairy tale/movie tropes and turns them on their head.

People keep calling this movie a masterpiece and I enjoyed it too, but I feel like this movie is the exact definition of a childhood memory making someone argue something is good when it's really not. If you take out the nostalgia, it's a decent movie sure, but it's nothing overly special. Sure, the fact that it's about an ogre can excuse a lot of the jokes, but I feel like this movie just caused that to become a staple in animated comedies. The movie is fun and has some rewatch potential, but at the end of the day there's nothing too special about it.
@@arp5510 I mean I'm trying not to harp on the movie and a lot of it does make sense, although they did kill mother bear and skinned her and if any child actually noticed that they probably would have been horrified, and they do have a few adult jokes in there that kids might not have gotten but I mean even Disney does that, but the movie is fun without being necessarily good, granted it's not a bad movie it's just an animated rom-com that has a lot of bad jokes but is overall a fun premise and does rag a bit on classic fairy tail with a nice message at the end.
I love Shrek, and the entire Shrek franchise. But many other modern 21st century movies I don't love, especially the real life ones (and the cgis with crappier lower quality than Shrek) where people just can't think beyond sex and toilet humor! I totally understand this dude knocking many of them (I don't understand what goes on in so many people's brains today, I swear). I'm totally with him on them. But on the other hand, I do not understand him knocking the classics from Golden age Hollywood such as Sound of music, Citizen Kane, and many of the other great classics from the 1960s and earlier. Leave the classics alone. Stick with sinning and talking bad about all the modern toilet humor shit!

Theoretically, at 5:30 when Shrek was thrown through the roof, he was already in his downward arc. The arc would've provided the just enough velocity to throw him through the roof, BUT the speed gained going up hadn't been regained ONCE he started his descent. Thats how he survived. Sin?
There is actually a reason for the scottish accent. Mike Meyers actually recorded Shrek with a canadian accent but then again with the scottish accent, making Shrek sound more like a working class guy.
The reason they made Robin Hood French is because they deliberately made each detail about him a bit altered so the Robin Hood parody is not too obvious. It's why in the song they called him "Mr. Hood" instead of Robin Hood. It's really not a dumb thing to do. Making references too obvious is what's dumb. Also, Fiona had more than plenty of time to practice fighting moves, kung fu moves, etc. She was locked in a tower, she didn't have much else to do. As for her already knowing what such moves are, she wasn't always in the tower and she's specifically mentioned several times how she's spent HALF of her life locked in the tower. The other half of her life exposed to the open world has given her plenty of opportunities to observe things all around her, i.e. watching other people fight, reading books, etc. It doesn't matter if there were no books or senseis in the tower, she already remembered what she'd previously witnessed and read, so now all she needed to do was practice, and had plenty of time to do so. I do question how Fiona got food, drink, supplies (toiletries, medicine), or anything else she needed. Either once a week she made a treacherous journey to the nearest store (which was no doubt many miles away), which included rickety bridge over lava, climbing steep rocks, etc., or she rode the dragon to get there and back, or the dragon delivered them. Idk. Points like this were decided to just not be mentioned. 8:25 - 8:28 - Fiona also during her time in the castle apparently learned to walk completely vertically

Theoretically, at 5:30 when Shrek was thrown through the roof, he was already in his downward arc. The arc would've provided the just enough velocity to throw him through the roof, BUT the speed gained going up hadn't been regained ONCE he started his descent. Thats how he survived. Sin?

The reason they made Robin Hood French is because they deliberately made each detail about him a bit altered so the Robin Hood parody is not too obvious. It's why in the song they called him "Mr. Hood" instead of Robin Hood. It's really not a dumb thing to do. Making references too obvious is what's dumb.
Also, Fiona had more than plenty of time to practice fighting moves, kung fu moves, etc. She was locked in a tower, she didn't have much else to do. As for her already knowing what such moves are, she wasn't always in the tower and she's specifically mentioned several times how she's spent HALF of her life locked in the tower. The other half of her life exposed to the open world has given her plenty of opportunities to observe things all around her, i.e. watching other people fight, reading books, etc. It doesn't matter if there were no books or senseis in the tower, she already remembered what she'd previously witnessed and read, so now all she needed to do was practice, and had plenty of time to do so.
I do question how Fiona got food, drink, supplies (toiletries, medicine), or anything else she needed. Either once a week she made a treacherous journey to the nearest store (which was no doubt many miles away), which included rickety bridge over lava, climbing steep rocks, etc., or she rode the dragon to get there and back, or the dragon delivered them. Idk. Points like this were decided to just not be mentioned.
