Tidus’s recovery journey has been taking up a chunk of our “life” these days, but we wouldn’t have it any other way. When we brought Tidus into our life, we made a commitment to do what’s best for him and his wellbeing. So this video (as you can tell) is a little bit delayed, but we want to share it with you nonetheless.
This is our last video before we head back to Portland Oregon to be nearby our holistic vet, and also - JUST IN CASE - there’s a great TPLO surgeon in Portland that our vet trusts.
Traditionally, TPLO surgery seems to be the only recommendation for ACL injuries in dogs, but dog parents around the world are discovering an alternative: ACL recovery through physical therapy - the non-surgical route. The very invasive TPLO surgery costs between 5000-8000$, but that’s not the ONLY problem. We’ve heard from so many dog parents about the long term ill effects of taking this route. The beautiful thing is that you can always take the safe route and start with physical therapy first, as shown in this video. In the worst case scenario, you can go the surgery route if you really need to. Giving Tidus the BEST shot at healing the natural way is the route we prefer taking … but will it work for him? This is his second ACL injury on a different leg, so stay tuned on his progress and we’ll keep you updated on his healing journey.

I really hope Tidus can recover without surgery. That would be so scary. I always felt bad and was so worried when GttSD had to go through surgeries with Shelby or Oakley.
Oakleyfan Thank you! OK 👍 we’ll talk about how the Husky Squad was born on a future vid! We’ve been researching this ACL surgery thing for years, and we’ve had tons of conversations with all kinds of vets in different cities. The thing is, not all ACL injuries are the same, and only (expensive) MRI scans could show how severe the injury really is. But most vets will just perform the drawer test (which can sometimes cause more damage) and immediately guilt trip the dog parent into surgery. For example, two vets we consulted with were 100% sure Tudus needed surgery, but here he is recovering just fine. This video is a little delayed, but we can tell you with the utmost certainty that he does not need surgery and he will be trekking on trails again very soon! 👍❤️

It's funny, as I watch them I can feel a smile on my face, and that excited tenseness that you feel watching someone you care so much about accomplishing their goals! Feeling like you are about to burst and thinking; LOOK AT YOU GO!!!! The progress may be slower than with surgery but I truly feel that all your time and research has paid off, and this was the best option for Tidus. Such remarkable parents! My dog had something like this we had to have him down for 10 weeks and physically had to assist him with a assistance assistance strap to help him go out in the yard to potty we had to change his diet completely we started adding dandelions and tumeric to his food for a pain reducer we give him ginger every three weeks he gets dandelions and tumeric every morning and in the evening he gets glucosamine chondroitin I make in my kroc pot I take bones egg shells apple cider vinager and apples and cook them down for three days and break the rest of it down in the blender he loves it he also gets CBD cold Lazer therapy and water therapy he moves around great now

Hey Guy's ! I've got a question for you . Do you ever have any Air-conditioning problems with the Dog shedding hair !!!! Just wondering !!! Iv had my Air worked on 3 time's already this year !!! I do have four fur baby's !!!! 🐺🐺🐺🐺
Kurt McKelvey oh man! Air conditioning problems are expensive! We preventively applied filters to all the vents including the air intake. You can buy them at any Home Depot type store and cut them to size. I think that will help a lot 😀 hugs to the five of you 🤗❤️
