      Hello Husky Squad! I'm very interested in your course, but our situation is a bit unique and I have a question, if you would be so kind. Our Fred is a 3 year old male Husky/Shiba Inu. I transitioned him to raw about a month ago, but because of all the overwhelming information and the fact that Fred will not eat chicken or turkey, I could not afford to keep buying him 90% lean ground beef. I was also concerned about making his meals balanced. So, for now we have subscribed to We Eat Raw until I can get this figured out. Again, he will only eat the beef, so that also concerns me.
      Would your course be helpful for us since Fred is already eating raw? And, does the course also cover how to ensure meals are balanced?
      Thank you so much, I look forward to hearing from you.

      @@wendywickenhauser7464 hi there! All great questions. Yes, the Kibble to Raw course will address picky eating, balanced meals, how you can DIY, tips to save money and so much more. A good percentage of our members fed raw already when they joined the course, and they did so for the same reasons as you - especially with making sure meals are balanced and complete. We look forward to have you both in our course! Join here: kibbletoraw.com

      @@huskysquad Thank you so much for your reply! I have started the Kibble to Raw Food course, and am looking forward to it and a healthier life for Fred! I am reaching out for a little advice. As I said before, Fred has been on raw for about a month. First an expensive homemade meal, and now the beef meal from We Feed Raw until we learn how to do it ourselves affordably.
      He's been on We Feed Raw for almost 2 weeks. Yesterday, although he gobbled up his meals, he vomited about 4 hours after breakfast and about 2 hours after dinner. Today he's only had his breakfast, and has not vomited, but just isn't himself. He doesn't want to play ball, which we do every afternoon. I wouldn't say he's lethargic, but off. Any suggestions until I can get through the course? Sorry to be a pain!

      @@wendywickenhauser7464 I’m glad you joined the course! It’s going to benefit you so much!
      I think you may want to hold off on feeding raw until you learn how to do it properly. In the course, we guide you how to heal the gut and do this transition gently.
      If he’s not feeling better already, I recommend booking an appointment with a nearby holistic veterinarian ❤️

    Thank you for talking about this very important topic. I feed my pug and 2 cats raw and they are so healthy and have the softest, silkiest fur. I am actually a vegan, and I often laugh to myself because I have freeze-dried cow lung or chicken pieces in my coat pockets for their treats, and I get up early every morning to feed them their icky raw food with blood in it. lol!! However, I am so grateful to have access to this food and be feeding them humanely raised species-appropriate food. I mostly feed them a brand called Big Country Raw, which has all the added nutrients that they need to make it a complete meal. Our local pet store sells it. I keep a very small bag of dog and cat kibble for treats and for a backup plan in case the power goes out or if we ever had some sort of emergency.

    • @huskysquad
      @huskysquad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm so glad you're feeding your fur-kids the nutrition they are meant to eat. That is true compassion somehow some others fail to practice. Our fur kids entirely depend in us for their nutrition and it's our responsibility from the moment we commit to bring them home.
      Hahah! I can relate to treats in your pocket. I find those and dog poop bags in all my pockets :D High quality, healthy, humanly raised, hunted or fished is what we go for too. Kibble can be a good back up, just be sure to watch out for the expiration date. We have 4 bags of freeze dried raw for emergencies. Sending all of you love :)

      @@huskysquad thank you, I keep the kibble in the freezer because I hardly ever use it lol freeze dried raw is a great backup too that I use. And yeah, vegan food keeps me very healthy but these babies are carnivores and that's what they need to eat. I always compare a vegan dog diet with trying to make a horse a meat eater, it's not natural. Hugs and love to you and your furbabies from chilly Saskatchewan, Canada 🤗🤗

    Our 11-month-old Pomeranian has Blue Buffalo kibble in the morning and freeze-dried raw at night. When we got her as a tiny puppy she came with Purina One and I HATED it, she wasn't even eating properly, she was a snacker and because of it she struggled to put on proper weight so I slowly added freeze-dried raw to her diet, and she began eating proper meals, she also skipped the puppy uglies entirely which is funny because both of her parents had the puppy uglies and it was terrible lol. The vet doesn't like that we give her freeze-dried raw at all and suggests we stick with kibble, but the raw diet has done so much good for our dog. Her coat is healthy, she no longer has dandruff, she stopped having watery stools, etc. My husband is glad I suggested it and told me he wants to keep her on it.
    The only reason we give her kibble in the morning is to help keep her teeth clean but we may add bone broth to it.

    • @huskysquad
      @huskysquad  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You’re on the right track! Follow your intuition to feed healthy. Keep in mind however, kibble actually causes dental plaque over time - and it’s the right raw meaty bone, and a fully raw food diet that keeps teeth very clean and healthy. You can do more research online, and if you need help, check out HuskySquad.com for more resources.

    We adopted a GSD back in 2017 that was bone thin, losing hair, and had constant diarrhea and vomiting. On top of this, he had constant yeast infections on his skin and in his ears, and nothing would help. There was a day soon after we adopted him that we understood that if we kept on feeding him kibble at that time, he would die. That day awakened something in me that was always there, but kept under the surface. We decided to start him raw cold turkey, leaning heavily on raw goat milk, bone broth, and bone in his meals to help solidify his poop. And we moved him away from store-bought chicken meat and chicken eggs to things like duck, whole fish, lamb, goat, and ground bison. A hunter friend then started dropping off venison parts to us after they'd processed everything for their family. And we added in a variety of microgreens that are known to produce anti-cancer activity in the body. Slowly he began to get better, to the point that he could rip and run and wrestle with our other large GSD.
    Our problem was that it was expensive and time-consuming...so we started researching about homesteading. We figured that it could be much cheaper and more consistent if we actually raised a lot of the food for him. Then we could transition our other dogs onto raw more quickly / easily and it could help us reduce our own grocery costs and eat a healthier human diet. After a LOT of research we began raising quail and meat rabbits, and growing a lot of our own veg. Now that we're moving to a new home where we can actually expand, we'll be raising chickens, and we're looking into creating a small, regenerative fish farm with catfish. And on a larger scale, we've decided to build a regenerative farm business and have purchased an acreage to be able to expand into dairy goats, pigs, possibly sheep, and a larger variety of poultry (ducks, turkeys, geese, and larger quail and chicken flocks). We want to help humans eat better as well, while also producing a variety of proteins that can be suitable for dogs, cats, ferrets, and carnivorous or omnivorous reptiles.
    As a side note, our livestock guardian dogs don't do well on kibble either. One was adopted and was sent home with a small trial bag of science diet, which we promptly threw away. The LGDs mostly experience diarrhea and dehydration, but one of the females will loose hair and develop skin issues as well on kibble. I feel that all dogs can benefit from raw feeding done correctly, but most especially ancient breeds and Northern breeds (who we understand from research ate a lot of raw fish and whatever they could catch (small mammals like rabbits). I also feel like the variety we're able to give through raw feeding helps to provide a wider variety of trace minerals and nutrients, and reduces potential sensitivity to any one type of protein. We also tend to add in raw green tripe, raw goat milk, different types of bone broth, and the blood from the meat to help keep their guts healthy. Like you all, I just feel SO much better raising and growing the foods they eat and knowing what's in everything.

      I love your Kibble to Raw story with your GSD and what you have in mind for the future. Your passion to save his life is relatable, this is how we felt when Kimahri was diagnosed with cancer. I was going to do (and we did) everything in our power to heal her from within, instead of just addressing the symptoms. Every dog parent has the ability to do this when taken the time to learn what a dog needs to thrive, and we all know kibble is not it. Everybody's circumstances and living situations are different, and we're so happy you're achieving your homesteading goals. I too love growing our own food and I can't wait to expand more in the future.
      For now, we're very happy with the way feed our pups. We source through all kinds of ways, but I love feeding them food we've butchered, hunted, and fished ourselves. It feels amazing! Overall, our cost is less than what we paid for premium kibble before Kimahri had cancer. Our message to fellow dog parents is that EVERYONE can do this, in the best way that suits their lifestyle most - and every dog parent deserves to have the knowledge to go beyond kibble. Our students are from all over the world, and everyone has their own inspiring success story, wether they live rural, city, and everything in between.
      Sending so much love to you all - and we're so happy about your success story with your beloved dog 😍

    Do you freeze the meat before giving it to them? I heard pork has to be frozen for 3 weeks. I'm new to this, my boxer has terrible skin allergies. What meat is the best for skin allergies? I was taking him to the vet to get shots. It started every 6 months to 1x a month. It was $100 each time. 😞

    • @huskysquad
      @huskysquad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Those are all great questions and I’m so glad you’re inquiring about leveling up your pups diet. Skin allergies are so common when our dogs are not eating a species correct diet. Yes, you do absolutely need to freeze all meats before feeding, and the best meats for your pups depends on various individual factors, healing from current ailments, and other aspects. For sensitive pups, I would definitely not begin with pork. Those shots sound awful and highly likely just masking the symptoms for now without addressing the root cause, healing, and true nourishment. This is why we built the Kibble to Raw course. It has the healing aspect, all the learning, identifying your pup as an individual for proper nourishment, and a gentle 15 week transition meal plan you’ll mold to the healing and transition needs for each pup. You’ll feel empowered to make all the decisions confidently as a dog mom. Have a look here and you’ll see exactly what you’ll learn: www.huskysquad.com/kibble-to-raw/ chin up! This will get better for both of you as soon as you begin the process! Hi Gisela! Wow, you're amazing for feeding raw all this time :) Lucky pups! Intuitively, like you - I would think of his gut, but also food specific based on his needs. Sometimes the food source can also be an issue. Does he show any other symptoms? Anyone with gut issues (and the type of issues can vary) will have a hard time with many foods, and they'll absorb a lot fewer nutrients too. Do you have a holistic vet by your side? How old is he?

    Highly interested in this. We have a siberian husky pup that will be turning 5 months this month. He is definitely a handful, and we are trying our best. We love him so much and want the best life possible for him. My husband and I work full time but someone is always home with him due to telework. The raw food concept sounds very appealing. Our boy loves to eat, and he loves his kibble. Of course I am always interested to know if there is something better. How do you prevent/minimize exposure to bacteria in raw food? This is our biggest concern when considering a transition. We don't want him to get ill. When we first got him he had diarrhea. I had to give him a bland diet and experiment with a few protein sources that his tummy could tolerate. Eventually we transitioned him to a kibble that he did well with. We also notice he sometimes vomits in the mornings. Usually it's bile and we try to feed him late at night to minimize the chances of too much build up in his stomach overnight. We feed him kibble about four times a day for this reason (about a half cup each time according to the kibble recommendations). Interested to hear more.

      What amazing parents you both are to your young husky to care for him so closely with the issues he’s been having. Kibble is highly processed, and unfortunately no matter how much we try, our pups bellies don’t do well on them. Sometimes issues appear sooner, sometimes they take some years to develop - but ultimately, eating kibble is like living life purely on cereal or energy bars. It’s not fresh, lacks variety, and true species correct nutrition. Your concern about safety is extremely common. We actually have a dedicated section in the course where we share with you all the safety and food handling details to guarantee your success. You’ll feel very confident with the entire process once you complete the course. We have thousands of Kibble to Raw graduates, and no one has ever reported a food safety problem after graduating. We're so glad this video is inspiring and helpful to you! I'm sorry to read about the health issues with your husky. Switching to raw will be the health transformation you're seeking for your dog. We've lived all over the USA and two continents - so we source our components through local pet food stores, butchers, small family farms, and so much more. However, the most important aspect of the food is understanding what the components are of a dog specific diet, and what your dog needs as an individual, especially when you're needing to heal health problems. We cover all of this in our Kibble to Raw Course, and we also show you how to source food no matter where you live, and on every budget. Our course also includes a gentle 15 week transition meal plan to help your dog transition with great success. Here are your next steps to make it happen: www.huskysquad.com/sp/kibble-to-raw/ref/yths

      Hi Emily! Happy New Year to you too! We're so sorry to read about the troubles you're having with your husky, and especially how the vet shut you down when you asked about raw. Most conventional vets don't study nutrition and they sadly don't know anything past kibble. To answer your question: Absolutely. I like the idea of feeding raw and I know my dog will benefit from it, however, even if this course will help with my side of things, I don't agree with the price and limited access you give. If I'm going to spend almost $200 for this, I want to be able to access it years down the line (for any new dog I would get) and be able to see all the updates yall will post. I don't want to only have access to it for a year with what I can only assume will prompt you to pay another $200 at the end of that year in order to keep it.

    • @huskysquad
      @huskysquad  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Janelle! Your intuition is correct. Your dog will highly benefit from a fresh, real food diet. I can also understand your concern about the price, but I can assure you (and so can over 100 members who have given this course five-star raving reviews) that you'll get way more from our Kibble to Raw course than just a meal plan. Kibble to Raw packs a ton of knowledge to learn the principles of feeding any dog raw, why, and how. Most resources out there are filled with confusion and you will still walk away not understanding the foundation. In Kibble to Raw, you'll get to know what your dog needs as an individual based on their specific needs and you'll know how to feed any dog real food, for always. On top of that, it teaches you the principles of holistic living and how to find resources no matter where you live in the world. Additionally, the meal plan is not your average daily recipe to follow. It's intentionally built to heal your dog's gut, transition gently, and is completely customizable to your dog's needs according to what you'll learn. You'll graduate with way more tools in your hands than you expect. I wish you asked, but the access beyond the first year will not at all be $200. I honestly wish we can give everyone free access forever. However, technology, staff, software, tools, and everything in between are not free to anyone and the costs keep going up every year. I would not expect you or any human being to work for free, and I know you would not either. The fee of $20 per year keeps these things paid for dog parents who want to keep access for the future. I'm sure you can understand that. I also want you to know the course is now available for a special limited-time offer which will save you money, plus - there are a few more seats left for the code "NIKOLAI" where you can save even more during checkout.
      Here's what one of our members said when she graduated Kibble to Raw with her dog: This program was so easy to follow, they provide EVERYTHING you could imagine and maybe even didn’t think to brush up on before going raw. Plus the infographics make it so easy to go back to if you want to double-check any information. Videos coupled with resources and tips and tricks from two dog parents who obliviously know their stuff was more than I could have asked for! Absolutely worth the price. You will learn so much about dog health and nutrition! This program is so well spaced out, it gives you plenty of time to fully digest everything you’re learning. 10/10 worth every penny! After two weeks of no kibble, my German Shepherd/Husky mix boys were already healing wounds like dry skin and allergies AND extra sweet and cuddly with me! - Christy M. San Diego, USA 🇺🇸

    People who want to fight us on raw food refuse to acknowledge that animals were healthier with less vet visits and living longer… Back when humans were feeding their pets from their own freezer and fridge. My family had a farm and despite a massive kibble factory moving into the area, they only fed their dogs from their farm… Eggs and beef (it was a dairy) mostly and their dogs lived so long. That was the first thing I considered when I got a dog (GSD) of my very own… Information online confidently states Science Diet is the best food and a super low age for lifespan… My grandparents had the same GSD (it was their last dog as time actually working their farm alone was winding down) long before us grandkids were born! Now if Science Diet is the best dog nutrition, why does it give does diarrhea and why do they die so early? They want us to believe this is just reality and pay for expensive treatments to keep our dogs alive. The real solution is a decent diet. It is also the CHEAPER solution in the long-run as well when you really think about it.

    From what I understand, dogs cannot digest lactose. So that means any milk cheeses yogurt all of that that has the milk sugar/lactose in it not acceptable. I can’t digest even as a human so I buy lactose free milk and I make my own yogurt.
