A neighbor called out to me while knocking on this door to let me know the house was vacant. He'd been mowing it a while ago but the overgrowth was too much and was damaging his mower. So, it's been growing rampant for a while now and looks so bad for the neighborhood. Luckily, I was able to clean up the entire thing, reveal some hidden sidewalks, and make it look better than it's looked in a long time.

You should put an SB Mowing sign in all the yards you do for free for 1 or 2 wks. That way the neighbors or realtors know who to thank.

If the owners are not elderly or sick, they should at least try to maintain their yard if they can't afford to pay a professional. It doesn't have to be as good but just to keep the grass down and prevent a lot of overgrowth.
Spencer, let me tell you that your BEFORE and AFTER pics are the very best of any other lawn and yard cleanup videos on TH-cam....It's so disappointing when someone does all that work and then only leaves a few seconds for the final reveal! So, thank you for providing all the satisfying transformations and properly recording the final reveal(s) !
Watching this video, I spied: planters, a vegetable trellis, wind chimes, a porch swing & an old-fashioned clothesline … I imagined that this was a cozy, warm & loving home a lifetime (or two) ago … so nostalgic to see it’s history uncovered & a bit bittersweet ❤ Please continue being awesome!

I can't believe how wide the sidewalks get when you do the edging. It's quite astonishing. You always do such a good job with all of the houses you come by.

Only a cheap slumlord would take up on the offer to get the yard done for free. For him cause you know that he wouldn't touch it with a ten foot poll. Slumlords never take care of their properties.

Wow Spencer, I think you got there just in time before nature reclaimed this place! The owner should be so pleased as should the neighbors. The gentleman who mowed the lawn for him, must've been completely overwhelmed by the prospect of cleaning that place up!

Neighbor looked like he might need some help also. He had been trying to keep up with this lawn and was putting wear and tear on his mower and here you come in helping someone else. Kind of hard not to have hurt feelings.

Wow that’s impressive. What a difference that made. Someone would have never realized how overgrown that yard was until the before and after were seen. Wish you lived close to me. I have Chronic Kidney Disease and tire easily. I can only do a section of my yard at a time. You’re such a blessing to those who need help.

This is another topic but I was surprised at the lax squatters laws in some states. The last thing the elderly homeowner needs is to be dealing with THAT nightmare. I think this good work helps to prevent that. I'm glad that the neighbour seems to be watching the place as well. 🙂🙂🙂

Im not sure whats more shocking, the fact that the property was that overgrown, or the fact someone was living in that house, in that condition 6 months ago. Well done Spencer!! Watching your videos makes me wish I had the money and resources to do what you do. It has to be satisfying.
Unfortunately some renters don't care. It's not THIER property and if people say something they can blame the landlord. Some people won't make any kind of effort to keep it looking nice while they live there.

Slum lords are a dime a dozen. It's hard to maintain a property when you have to pay rent on top of renovation/maintenance fees. I mostly side with the renter here as it'd be dumb to make your slumlord even more money than they already extort.

by the look of this property the owner has been neglecting it for years and clearly not putting any of the rent that was being collected back into the maintenance of the property. It is no wonder the renters moved; this house clearly is not safe to live in.

Another amazing transformation. My heart sank when you cut down that Trumpet Vine. My grandparents in Tx had one growing on one side of their yard on their ranch. I love them and I'm attempting to grow one here in Colorado.
Trumpet vines are super invasive, you can bet this one will be up and going in the spring, may even bloom!
They are nightmares and will come up through any tiny crack in concrete then they made it even worse because they are so strong. They are aggressive invasive and smother other vegetation and weigh down structures. Pretty, yes but cross vine is a better choice with lovely abundant flowers without the regret of a ‘devil plant”.
Nice restoration of the walkways. Liked you took out the rather extensive amount of seedling trees and made the time to get the vine off the garage. That is overall a cute little house. You brought it back to participating in the neighborhood.

It reminds me of the rental I lived in in the late 90s when I was in grad school and had very little money. That house took good care and was beautiful in my eyes.

Spencer, you are doing an outstanding job of knocking down a very neglected and overgrown landscape. The neighbor you spoke with is understandably reluctant to do this, because most homeowners don’t have the right equipment and horsepower to tackle the very tall yards. Your string trimmer, edger and zero turn are what is needed to knock down an overgrown yard. The transformation from neglected to the neighborhood’s jewel is amazing. Really well done ❤😊

Holy crap there sure were enough volunteer trees on this lot!! My town's debris truck would be full with this one property!! I hope the owner of the property will get going on fixing up at least the outside of the house! You definitely performed a miracle on this property Spencer!!!

I believe that the neglect of that property has been going on a lot longer than 6-months. I feel so sorry for the other neighbors that have to deal with this absentee landlord. If you won't take care of it, sell the property to someone who will.

Idk what state that is. But in Toronto bylaw will keep giving you tickets for grass being overgrown to point where owner saves more hiring landscaper. Same with snow, if not shoveled in 48 hrs they can Ticket.

I think there are situations in people's lives that come up without warning that can set you back a bit. This place provides income for the owner. Renters can be awful! Perhaps he lost his spouse. Perhaps he has cancer. I don't like to judge. SB mowing didn't!! Thank you SB for helping this man. Now he is either a step closer to renting or a step closer to selling! You are an angel!
