Fp 30x for me, as a producer, I can hear the difference pretty clearly the RD 88 sounds a little cleaner, but a bit too rounded dial in a little bit of the life sucked out. I prefer the keybed on the 30 X , but I like the design and the weight of the RD 88 more. Maybe take everything from the 30 X into the 88. The keybeds are a completely different feel. I don’t care if the technology is the same as far as the hammers, but I’m telling you have played it, I feel so much better playing on the 30x keybed. Maybe they could just lower the way to the 30 X by like 10-15 pounds. It’s so crazy heavy.
I’m also uncertain between RD88 and FP30-60x. I would use it for our Gospel Choir gigs (only piano sounds). I like the MIC IN option in the RD88 and FP60x. I also like the RD88’s configurable scenes. I’m not sure the 60x has got them. I wrote Roland’s selling service, till now no answers. This lack of communication worries me!
They both have the same ph4 keyboard, the sounds are really good, in my opinion I prefer the rd88 as it has the advantage of the roland cloud app, with a wide range of sounds.
Thank you for making this video as I was looking for this exact comparison. I need to decide between the two and purchase one in the next day or two. I do however think it would have been a more equal comparison to put the RD88 up against the FP60X as they are almost the same exact price and offer more equal features than the FP30X.
Thanks for your useful review. Weight is now an important factor for me. I have a RD-800 (quite heavy) and a FP30x. Now, I'm wondering if I should get the RD-88 (same weight than the FP30x). In your view, which one has the best piano sound?
@M Luiz I would choose the rd88 just because I want more sounds, but the fp60x has a more intuitive piano, so if that's more important to you then choose that
Hello, I do computer music (ableton) and I would like to learn to play the piano, in your opinion would the rd88 be a good choice over the fp30x? Or maybe a master keyboard like the native one? I am lost because I have no piano experience. Sorry for my English I translated with google;) thanks in advance
ok thanks for the answer, I'm just hesitating between a piano and a controller. The ideal would be to buy both;). in any case thank you and good luck, your comparisons are very interesting

Fp30x para mi es mucho más cómodo al tocar y si gusta usar mucho piano acustico es mucho mejor optar por esa opción
Does rd-88 has exactly the same piano voices as FP-30x? What does rd-88 lacks, piano-wise, compared to FP-30x?
the RD88 has far more sounds than the FP30x.
Bluetooth
i ordered the fp 30x but got the rd88 instead in the mail lol. Is this better or should i return it?
lol well the rd88 costs $500 more than the fp30x, and it's more powerful with a lot more sounds. the fp 30x however has built-in speakers.
Roland RD-88 or Juno ds 88? need to chose one please give me your input, its for a church
I prefer the RD-88
What is the price difference between the 2? Which one would you recommend for a church? Thank you
Hi! Thanks for the video! How much it's 11wx2? For a loud singer? Have a nice day!

RD-88 has many more sounds since it's a synthesizer, the fp30x is just a digital piano. The piano sounds are basically the same.
Thank you for your answer!
donde puedo conseguir un roland rd 88? soy de Puerto Rico.
Thank you, do you think fp30x is good enough for piano gig performance
if you just need the basic bread and butter sounds then the fp30x is great

i'd get the RD88 just because it has more sounds. I personally only use a controller and software synths.

For me Roland fp30x has 2 speeds more, at least!!
Hi! Can you explain a little bit of that? Have a nice day!!!
