Jim and Cindy, the way yous joke around and interact with each other reminds me so much of my hubby and I. Can sure tell yous enjoy each other's company and working with each other. A total winner! When I first saw the piece I wondered if you would fill the grooves on the backer board . Nope, you two decided to make the grooves a focal design element. Totally unexpected and gorgeous. The hammered metallic and black is such a classic choice. Flipping Awesome indeed!

I love this!! I collect mid-century modern copper pieces. I love the way copper looks, I'll have to start looking for a used display cabinet I could use this color scheme on, my stuff would look amazing in a cabinet with this black and copper paint. And it's interesting, you didn't change the lines of the piece at all but it went from a country feel to urban with just a paint job!!

Looks beautiful. I have two questions: why you didn't send it before color and why you didn't put any top coat at the end?
We used Rethunk Junk products on this piece. "The Prep" by Rethunk Junk is used and with it, there is no sanding needed. Also, Rethunk Junk paints do not require a top coat. It is not a chalk or mineral paint. It is a resin paint. It goes on much like chalk or mineral, but dries harder and faster. I like it except the back. I’m not crazy about the two tones back. It’s pretty. Also it looks like some of your handles are crackled. Was that intentional?
Yes, the paint has sort of a hammered look. We went back and forth about how to do the back.😊
