An unexpected rare treat, someone taking the time and making the effort to explain their thought process based on experience and explaining that kit doesn't need to cost a fortune. Great loadout with multiple uses. Thank you.

Dude, you had me in the first 3 seconds lol. Awesome narrative voice!
As ex Air Force fire medic, totally respect you putting it out there that you aren’t military. Too many people think military is end all be all and it’s not. I will say this, your mentality makes or break you and a LOT of military personnel don’t have HALF of the mental capacity or ability to think outside the box like what you show here. I’ll add more to this comment after I finish the video but this is great stuff man you got a sub from me!
3:02 underrated assessment here. TOO MANY military and tacticool civilians wanna be all cammied out. That’s how you get IDd by ALL sides of a conflict including criminals. You’ll die and die fast. And for the love of god if you do wear camo, PLEASE don’t use current military/police uniforms. It just makes you look like them. You doing good with Gods camo right there M81 woodland.
3:40 for rain gear I DO run the not so old Air Force tiger stripes parka and Gortex pants/jacket. But only because Gortex is expensive and I can’t afford a new civilian set. But it stays rolled up in my bag it’s definitely only for heavy wet conditions.
4:41 ok good call on gloves I gotta get me a set of wools. I use the green Nomex fire resistant pilot gloves for my all around move/shoot gloves and they are super good. Cheap too if you can find a set grab them they’re excellent. Great dexterity and you can hold a piping hot barrel in your hands and it’ll protect you.
6:38 MEDICAL- if anybody reading this hasn’t heard of it, check out “Paramedic Coach” on TH-cam. FREE EMT and paramedic classes and training that WILL save your or someone else’s life. I used his stuff to pass my EMT. Prep Medic is awesome too good mention.
9:15 good to run 2 tourniquets just in case one does break anyway.
22:21 FOOTWEAR- that’s a deep subject but my main suggestion is that whatever you do go with for your feet, make sure you don’t just buy it and stash in your bag or car, actually go out and wear it. Break it in. You don’t want brand new boots or shoes on your feet when you gotta walk miles.
25:58 COMMS- ok so depending on your situation you may need to operate “gray man” or off grid and don’t want to be tracked. So what I do is I have a couple phones I’ve gotten off marketplace or found for free that I run in my bag. Extra charging cords and then any numbers or info I need. But I wipe them and leave them factory reset until I need to use. That way name and anything personal isn’t attached to them. AKA burner phone. It’s invaluable for chaotic situations.
1:03:42 WEAPONS- awesome setup dude I really miss my shotgun that’s my next purchase. For the rifle, I just got a cheap Anderson and it’s nice. But I highly HIGHLY recommend painting it. Just to get that black off of it. Nothing stands out more than a black firearm. Just some cheap spray paint, tape off your buttons and lenses and get it done. Super simple and it’ll save your ass from being spotted. The light is awesome dude I’m gonna do that too. Damn weapon lights are expensive.

    Gentlemen:
When you cruise thrift stores always check the women’s section for wool scarves, sweaters and especially shawls. Sometimes called wraps. You’d be surprised how a $2 ugly funk-purple wool wrap can transform into dark OD green tacticool with a trip through a $4 box of dye. The benefit of a wrap is that you can cover your shoulders, head, neck, ears under your parka. Kinda like a 1960’s dickey but on the Mother Theresa vibe. The added warmth can make sleeping against a tree slightly more tolerable. Same goes for wool socks and sweaters. OD green dye or dark brown will generally transform the silliest Christmas sweater into something usable

BTW, mylar blankets are good, but in the military we used a heaver duty "casualty blanket" - worth the extra weight and you can also replace a tarp with it and get dual use.

To even increase your grayman lack of profile, many of the mil=sopec items shown here now also are in plain colors, navy and gray etc. Same protection without the camo etc (though I still rocjk the same camo m65 jacket). also remember Military-spec should be your base decision making. Many items are specced up as they say. A prime example is Crye Precision - but you pay a steep priuce for those. I could only affford one set -- and then went with a good brand, tru-spec ,for additional pairs. But because this guy knows what he is talking about - this from a former military man - I think I will try those Heklikon pants. Connemt on down, wear it only in super cold regions, like the artic, when it is so cold there is not chance of rain running water to get it wet. Works great there. But that limits functionality, so I also go for layered with synthetic fabrics. If I do a North or South Pole Expedition, I'll rock down. In Montana where there was lots and lots of goose feathers and down, they used bear and bison skins. Bison looks rough because they roll aroiund in the mnud to add skin protection from UV rays. Skin them, clean then (never toss anything, expecially the meat) and either tan the hide or spin the hair into wool like fibers, or both, and you have a super warm soft and non-itchy cloth - like a very thick cashmere. Our forefathers were not stupid. They didn't leanr survivial. They lived it. We can add to their knowledge with modeen fabrics and techniques, but they are our prime guideposts.
For footwear, I agree completely. Go ligtweight. If you want, you can then take a very lightwieght shoie with you as a back up. Anything is better than barefoot. I used those mukluks in North Dakota in the dead of minus degree weather.
The only thing I diasgree with is the radio. I have more broken and noin working Beofang radios that I care to remember. I use midland, mororola or retervis. All seem to have beeter range, quality, sound and don't break when you need them most.

I like that zipper idea on the movie LOL thank you for the helpful almost share the video I'm a subscribe and keep sharing helpful and to have no idea about your gear is also really important so I lived in Montana for almost 2 years and I lived in Maine for a little over about 6 and a half years and many years I spent homeless so you learned how to survive years ago I found this it was a either I think 1940s or 50s era sleeping bag it was old but it was thick and it was heavy and that thing I found it for $2.50 and I wish I would have never gave it away and it was the warmest sleeping bag I found it in Montana

From my understanding, those peltor knockoffs and PTT don't have any functions, just cosmetics, they're used for airsoft larping. I may be wrong. But I know for certain the NVG mount you have won't last for long, they're really brittle because it's made of plastic.

There's a lot of variance in quality as regards solar panel powerbanks. Can you specify the name of the one you use and your experience with charging times via its solar panels.

What's funny is everybody has a CAT but haven't taken a class on how to use it. You can do serious damage to somebody if you don't know how to use it. There is more to it than install and twist. If you haven't been taught in person, you
Stand a better chance of doing damage to somebody than actually doing any good

No water is primary number one assuming you can get to safety or on your way to safety your water should always be on the back of your mind usually get about a day after being real active running especially for running from forces they say 3 days but by then you're cramping up you're ready to roll over and die you can live longer than 3 days but that's if it's like you're stuck in a cold damp Place Like An Earthquake trapped in the building on cool dirt and concrete laying still for a week whistle a flashlight and some water on you
