Solution: Uninstall whatsapp on the new phone and have the old phone with whatsapp open. It has to be uninstalled to reset the app basically

@@xaviert.123 nah that doesn't work, or at least for me. I've tried a couple times and the screen that says ''transfer chat history from old phone'' doesn't show up, it just straight up says ''you're phone is already verified''

same here... both devices on same wlan. "old" one starts camera, "new" one shows QR code but it doesn't scan it... EVERY permission allowed on both phones... on whatsapp help-page it says to activate "live-location" on both devices but how could you even do that on the one that has not been set up alreaday... 😕

I manage to get it work, successfully transfer via qr code two times. The more backup data you have the longer it will take to transfer but yes, it is simpler and easier compare to backup restore from google drive or from usb cable copy paste the folder
