Also, you might want to add 2 annotations:
1-Even though your android says you can disconnect the cable, you can't if you want it to work
2-the android phone must have whatsapp uninstalled before starting this whole procedure

After my first failed attempt, I made following changes and the transfer worked successfully:
1) make sure end-to-end encrypted backup is turned off
2) scan the qr code from an android phone with an iPhone instead of going WhatsApp settings in an iPhone (adjusting the distance between it and qr code so that it can detect the qr code)

Same problem! Delete the whatsapp messenger from your android device and restart the whole process. It should appear on the list.

Help! I am trying to move from my iPhone 13 to my S23 Ultra and everything works finde until actually restoring the back up. After typing in my Phone number on my Samsung its telling me that the number typed in does not match the one the backup Was created with. So I basically hve the Backup on my Phone but am unable to open it. I am 100% sure I put in the correct number tough as I have on my IPhone.

When importing 75%, suddenly the android asks input the profile name (the importing doesn’t finish yet). Some of chats are already imported but, the importing is still on 75% then it’s going to be error. Why? It should be finish first, right?

It doesnt work properly. When you do all the activity, at last when you login in new device and start restoring it simply fails after few minutes and does not transfer the complete chats. This method does not work when you have more than 3 gb of whatsapp chats.
