I was given a juicer from a friend a few years ago and I have used it a few times. I LOVE juicing, but the I HATE my juicer! It bounces around inside somehow and occasionally the centrifugal blade will jump up and shave off a bit of the downtube! So... I Googled juicers and found your channel, John. I've been watching your reviews for the past few days. I also like your vids on gardening... some of which inspired me to build an aquaponics system (vid upcoming). Thanks for the insight and inspiration.
I've got the Tribest Elite GSE-5000 and love how fast it will juice 10-15 lbs. of carrots. I must also say that Tribest has best warranty and costumer service that I have personally experienced.

Thank you for your wonderful videos. I am moving out on my own soon and will need to get my own juicer. My mom has a centrifugal juicer so I am familiar with apple, beet, carrot. I want to do greens (chard, kale, spinach, baby greens, wheatgrass, and wild greens such as (watercress and dandelion)) I would add in beets, carrots, apples, cucumbers, lemons/limes, and ginger for taste so the green juice is not as strong. Probably half green and half other. I saw that your video showed that solostar 4 won the juice off with the nc800. Should I go for twin gear such as green star elite (or wait for the new omega twin gear juicer that comes out when??) or should I go for the horizontal auger? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a juice off between the solostar 4 and green star elite with a juice off in juicer features (yield and quality) and show cleaning time? I don't really care about the extra homoginizer and nut features because I have a Vitamix already. I may also occasionally juice watermelon or pineapple but I prefer to blend my fruits like you. Which would you recommend for my needs horizontal single auger juicer or twin gear juicer? Thanks!!!
Personally, I think vertical single auger juicers are better overall for juicing only. Horizontal machines are better for leafy greens and harder produce like carrots.
I have both an use the vertical 99.9% of the time.

First off, I really enjoy watching your videos. I'm currently looking into purchasing a juicer that my family and I can use. After watching your videos, I have my eyes set on The Green Star Elite-GSE 5000 as it produces the highest amount of yield and less pulp/fiber. Would you be able to make a video comparing the Solo Star 4 to the GSE-5000? Would either juicer be suitable for softer produce ( eg. straberries/tomatoes)? It would be much appreciated :D
Also, out of curiosity, have you ever juiced garlic/onions? :D
***** Juice-Off's with the Solostar 4 are on the "drawing board" I will do them as soon as I am able. Each juicer has their own set of pros and cons. Some will juice certain items better than others. The Slowstar is better able to handle softer produce than the GSE-5000 or the Solostar 4. I have juiced garlic and onions. they are a good texture to juice, but make juice REALLY strong, so only add a little.

I guess I'll be mainly juicing carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, and maybe some leafy greens, but that's not my main goal. Yield is important, but ease of use and cleaning even more! Thanks in advance for your recommendation! I think I have a preference for vertical juicers as well.
Bonus question : The models you are showing are getting quite "old", do you think a new generation of vertical juicer is coming by the end of the year and would be worth waiting for? Thanks again.

OverJam52 I would recommend a vertical single auger juicer for your needs. The slowstar will work great if your juicing carrots. Other vertical juicers may not have the torque required to easily crush and juice the carrots. www.discountjuicers.com/slowstar.html
