If you use the Budwig diet, this attachment will give you the best results, you have to use cold pressed flax oil with in 20 minutes for the best results, this machine does it. Really GREAT demos, i bought my angel and this from these guys, ill mention that on my order.
Thanks for the video. Good information. I purchased this oil extractor to make nut oils and so far I have tried macadamia and pistachio nuts and have not been able to get any oil out of either. Thin flakes come out of the grooves where the oil is supposed to.

I just pressed coconut shreds with it but from freshly shredded coconuts. I wondered why it was going so slow. Next time I try with dehydrated shreds, but I really like the quality that I got from this press. It's thick like heavy cream, and taste really good. Can oily shreds damage the unit, is that why it's not recommended?

I've never tried it, but you might get a bit more. The "pulp" is pretty dry, so I doubt you would get much.

Since the friction of the machine heats up the seeds to extract the oil, is it still considered "cold pressed" oil? My interest is flaxseed oil. Do commercial "cold pressed" flaxseed oil manufacturers use this same basic extraction method as this unit -- heating up (warming up?) the seeds with the friction of the machine and then extracting the oil?
Cold-pressed generally refers t oil pressed at under 40 C (or under 35 C for some people). You can see around the 8 minute mark in the video that it is cold pressed. Commercial cold pressed oil is produced the same way, just in a bigger press.

In most of oil extractors I've seen the auger is preheated, just before the process starts. I have no idea what it changes, but 702 doesn't do that... Can you tell us what is the difference with or without auger preheating, and does it influence 702's efficiency in some way?
The 702 heats naturally from the friction created between the auger and seeds. A preheated auger can be more expensive and complex, but will get yield immediately from seeds. The Sana 702 takes about 10-20 seconds for enough friction heat to build up to start extracting oil.

What temperature was the machine and oil when it came out? Is it truly “raw”?!
It was about 33C when it came out, which would qualify as raw (generally under 40C qualifies as raw). You can see it at 8:30 in the video where we test the temperature.

As far as we know, there is no oil press attachments for any twin gear juicer.

Yes they can, although the oil extractor makes smaller amounts of oil. Cooking oil is usually made in large quantities. But it's certainly suitable, depending on the type of oil.

Can it process chia seeds?
It isn't in the offical list of recommended seeds. However, chia seeds have a high oil content, and I have seen them processed in similar cold-press oil extractors, so I think it would work.
Can I make coconut oil easily?

You can see coconut at 19:00 in this video. The yield and quality of the oil depend on the freshness of the coconut. It needs to be dried coconut shreds, without sweeteners or any additives. We have had both good and bad results, depending on the coconut shreds. Rapeseed should be fine. Chia is not recommended.
Keep in mind that this is designed to produce smaller quantities of oil for nutritional, cosmetic, or flavoring use. A full commercial press is needed if you want to make larger quantities (bottles) of oil.

We've never tried it, but I doubt it. Evening primrose seeds have a low oil content (20-25%) and are very small. They are typically solvent-extracted.

There is no direct equivalent to the Sana 707 in the US. But the Omega NC series is very similar to the Sana 606, which is suitable for the oil extractor. The verticals have their own benefits, but won't work with the oil extractor. Check out our "Juicer Technology Comparison" video for more details.

The previous model was more limited in the ingredients it could process. The new model was redesigned to be able to process many more types of seeds and nuts, plus coconut.

It wouldn't work for those juicers. Those manufacturers have a different locking mechanism than the Sana and Omega horizontals.
I have a Jazz Alto (horizontal juicer). I know Omega also does an oil extractor attachment. Would you by any chance know if the Sana or Omega attachment would fit my Alto? Many thanks
Unfortunately the locking mechanism on the Alto is different from the Sana and Omega, so it wouldn't fit.

The nuts must be chopped to a small size for oil to be extracted effectively, A small hand operated nut chopper works best.

It is designed to process oils from hard ingredients like seeds and nuts, so it wouldn't work for grapefruit peel. The best way to get oil from those is to dehydrate the peels and steep them in oil for a few weeks in a jar and then strain it through a cheesecloth.

Angel shoud make an adapter for their juicer. this sana seems cheaply built, aluminum instead of stainless steel. and I doublt it solid motor with 10 year warranty. its just seems not solid built item

It isn't recommended. I believe the oil content is too low.
how do I make the extraced oil incolour? the colour will darken the food when cooking with oil...
The color of the oil depends on the seeds being processed. For example, flax or pumpkin seeds will be much darker than sunflower seed oil (which is more suitable for cooking). Generally we recommend the oil extractor to produce smaller quantities of fresh oil for nutritional uses, or for things like salad dressing where the oil won't be heated.
I agree the seeds have a colour and taints the oil, but looking at the video sunflower oil is kinda grey. How come the oil I buy(unfiltered,unrefined) is totally incolour?
My guess is that it is due to the way it is being processed. The commercially processed oil, even unrefined and unfiltered, is probably using a commercial oil press which can effectively remove all the fiber (and should, as they cost $8000+) and clarify the oil more effectively. Also, you'll notice the oil looks darker in the closeups than in the main shots - this is due to the different cameras being used (a professional SLR for the main shots).

Filter it through a very fine coffee filter.
Add activated carbon and filter it again.
You can even add it to a jar of water and shake it. Then if you want it even more clear add some hydrogen peroxide, shake it up really well then filter the oil through another coffee filter.
A more simple method is to let it sit and most particulates will settle to the bottom over time. You can speed it up from days to minutes by putting it in a centrifuge. Strapping it to a car wheel and running it on jacks is a bit dangerous but works very well in a pinch.

What about Apricot seeds?
Apricot kernels would be too large for the oil extractor.
It would work if it is cut to smaller pieces.
It may be theoretically possible. I'm not sure about the specific hardness of apricot kernel pieces. They would need to be similar in hardness to something like almonds or walnuts. I'm also not sure if they have a high enough oil content (compared to nuts).
Can you press cacao on that
It wouldn't be possible.. The extruding channels are far too narrow and are really designed for oil.

Can it press olives
No - olives go through a different process (crushing the olives into a paste, running them through a centrifuge, separating the oil from the water) that requires industrial machinery. You can manually press olives at home by crushing pitted olives into a paste, heating it to release the oil, wrapping the paste in cheesecloth, and then squeezing out the liquid which separates into oil and water. But it's a lot of work for the yield.

I've got a Hackberry tree, would this work to process the whole ripe berries to make the protein paste? The seeds are too hard to eat and are traditionally ground in mortar and pestle, but I have arthritis in my hands...
I've never seen a hackberry, but from what I understand the seeds are very hard - tough enough to break a tooth from what I read. My best guess is that this would either jam (if the seeds are too hard), or crush them while any juice or moisture would come out the oil slots. The juicer itself can process nuts into nut butter, but again I would guess that the hackberries would be too tough on the auger. Have you tried processing them in a blender with a little water?

Ich habe diese Ölpresse nun endlich bekommen, nachdem ich sie Anfang des Jahres schon einmal bestellt, bezahlt, aber nicht erhalten habe, da sie nicht lieferbar war. Nun endlich war sie lieferbar. Doch große Enttäuschung. Die beiden Hauptteile lassen sich weder richtig zusammenschrauben, noch auseinander nehmen. Da bewegt sich nichts. Sie passen einfach nicht richtig ineinader. Öl kann man damit nicht pressen. Leider völlig unbrauchbar, da wohl leider vom Hersteller keine Endkontrolle durchgeführt wird. . Schade, Ich werde das Teil wohl zurück schicken und mich hier in Deutschland nach einer anderen Ölpresse umschauen.
