MUCH BETTER THAN THE MANUAL! Thanks so much! My drain valve on the bottom was open and it wouldn’t pressurize right out of the box. I live remote on Lake Superior and desperately needed air in my tires. Fought with it all day yesterday and finally watched your video. FIXED! I can now drive 70 miles with my little dog to her vet for care. God bless you!

For those asking how long it takes for the tank pressure to build, you probably have the drain valve open so make sure the valve is closed.

Seriously, man! Thanks! I just bought my first air compressor, the exact same model in this video. I’ve also bought a Craftman 21° Framing Nailer so that I can build out rooms in my basement. But after buying it and opening it up, it felt just a tad bit intimidating. Been looking around TH-cam the last few days, but none was as helpful as this video. Thanks for the walkthrough. Excellent content.
Now I just need to find a decent video covering the Framing Nailer before starting my basement projects. Thanks!!!

Just picked this up and was able to remove a crank bolt on an old 78 F250 using a 1000 ft/lb Kobalt 1/2 inch impact wrench. Directions say it is not suitable for impact wrench's but just saying it definitely packs enough punch! Great buy!

    • @chris

Yep, it will air up anything, but the limit is the size of the tank... it can't take on big long tasks.

    couple of points.
    - If you are wondering why the pressure doesn't build up to 150 psi after 5 min, REMEMBER, drain valve comes opened! It must be closed before switching on the compressor (already mentioned below).
    - the pipe/hose connecting the pump to the tank gets hot! Watch out not to get burnt!
    ....otherwise, good video. Thanks.

Great video Chris! Very informative. I am new to air compressors and just have 2 questions. First question: what is the reason you have to turn regulator pressure to 0 when turning on and filling up air compressor and when draining the tank? My second question is: I mainly want to buy this style of compressor for airing up tires. If I air my tires up to 35 lbs, what should I set the regulated pressure at when doing this? Thanks

Nice video. I have one of these compressors and pleased with it for the most part. However, the drain valve is awkward. I know how important it is to drain water after each use to reduce the possibility of rust and tank failure but on this unit the user has to tilt up the compressor and then rock it to one leg and "hope" the water completely drains. Design flaw? Why didn't they place the drain valve half way between 2 of the legs? Seems like it would allow more complete water removal that way. Anyone have any thoughts on this?

This is a great point. My guess is that it was for easier access and gets the job done due to the air pressure that may remain in the tank, pushing out any fluid. But you're right... being where it is, it's not going to drain all the water like it would if it was positioned directly at the bottom like most bigger air compressors. The only other reason I can think of is because it sits so low, they put it higher up in that place so that it wouldn't get accidentally hit by something as you're putting the air compressor down.
