Hi there, I am 22 years old and never had the oppurtunity to learn how to play any instrument. The only one I ever wanted to learn growing up was the flute. My mom could never afford an instrament for me just to make ends meet, my schools were never able to help me out, and now that im all grown up I have decided that I can get one myself and finally learn.
That was the first song I learned by ear on Saxophone ! how fitting to play it now on my new adventure with my flute . I like the pace of your lessons and the way you show finger work clearly . Big thanks

Hi Lance! when i was in the 4th grade i started playing the flute, unfortunately i got into some trouble in school (as kids do!) and i was kicked out of the school band. i had to give my borrowed flute back. Fast forward today, i am 21 years old and found a flute at a yard sale. it had been a little girls in the school band as well. i paid $20 and i am on my way to learning to play the flute again. even better than before. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! it brought everything back for me ❤️
I play a song for first time i am a rookie but i like to try by my self to learn through your videos and i like this song very much ..thank you for everything you do for us to learn this awesome music instrument..could you please through this method with the numbers find more easy songs ..please e e e e e!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thx a lot my friend greetings from Greece
@lancesuzuki thanks so much for this. Complete newbie here -I just got my first flute yesterday and I’m able to play this song thanks to your instruction. However, my left arm hurts even after just a few seconds from holding up the flute. I am following all your directions on how to hold the flute properly, but somehow I’m doing something wrong, even though I am trying not to have any tension.
hello, thx for the video. why do i play the b note sometimes at B4 and A and G at A5 and G5? I hardly play it all notes in the 4 octave and can play all notes at octave 5 but it is breathy and the sound comes out when i tighten my emboucher. In other words, it is not consistent. Thanks for your help!

Is it wise to be reforming your embouchure with ever note your play? When your tongue hits the back of your lips rather than the gum line just above the back of your teeth, I find there is less a saliva problem. In your description, do how do you solve that saliva excess saliva problem?
I believe that the exercise you are referring to is more about articulation than embouchure. As a beginner, I believe it is important to be able to start a note cleanly from scratch and without tension in the lips.
