You're going to hate this, but I'm still not convinced this explains blight to scale. I thought the idea behind blight to scale is that you choose to take a blight in order to advance spirit growth. Well, you couldn't save land 7 regardless of what you did, so you were taking the blight anyway and I don't think I've seen anyone who plays River with an alternate build. My point here being that you didn't really "make a choice" in this example. You were going to blight land 7 and G2/G2 no matter what. If you're claiming this was blight to scale, then what was the alternative play where you saved 7 and didn't G2/G2? I think what you really need to do is engineer an example where we can see how a game (or at least a couple of turns) play out where on choice A you save blight and don't grow vs choice B where you do blight but grow faster.

You're not wrong. I actually thought the same thing when I reviewed it!
I was thinking that the whole point is to show scaling potential. Which I didn't emphasize enough.

I was thinking the same thing. I suppose the argument could be that one could try to draft a defend for the land using G3. So that way “taking blight to scale” would essentially mean staying on the build because you know you will be better for it in the future
