There might of been a percentage of Hamas operatives in the crowed, but there were also just aggressive people within the crowd with maybe not good intentions. Except its not accurate. Vox says the Palestinians only claim East Jerusalem. In fact they claim ALL of Jerusalem. That is why they are angry when the US puts an embassy in WEST Jerusalem. If they only claimed East Jerusalem then it shouldn't bother them, if there is an embassy in West Jerusalem.

I see a lot of people calling anyone who values Jerusalem idiot here in the comments. I might not be religious, but if the city I grew up in and learned culture from was being torn apart by two different groups with exclusionary ideologies, I would be upset as well. It's not just about it being a holy place, it's also about it being a place of culture and belonging. There's nothing productive about belittling their struggles because your values are removed from theirs.
But the groups don't have to have exclusionary ideologies. Hell as you can see the Palestinians are basically offering a compromise and only want the part of Jerusalem that isn't particularly connected to Judaism. On the other hand Israelis want everything. It's a bit sad that an ethnic group that has been persecuted for years around the world now does the same to another ethnic group that has also fought for independence even years before the modern Israel was formed. I understand that Palestinian territories may hide terrorists or other factions Israelis may not like but giving them independence would actually be a better choice since it would ease the tensions and allowing the people in those areas to focus on building their own communities would limit the aggression. I don't understand why Israel polititians are so stubborn, not only they are hurting thousands of innocent people but they are hurting their own citizens who are also victims of the violence cause by the absurd politics they follow.

It’s interesting to see how the conflict comes up in every day life even over here, and how we can work together to see and understand both sides of the story.
You’re an American so you should have no feelings on what happens in Israel. Period. Either that or renounce your citizenship and go become an Israeli if it matters so much to you.
Good Idea: Make Jerusalem an independent republic where all religions can pray with each other as family as brothers and sisters no matter their ethnicity or religion.
My solution, whilst it might not be viable in the geopolitical sends, is to grant Jerusalem independence from both states and establish it as a separate country/city-state.

There is no International law that gives the Palestinians any land in Israel. The West Bank and Jerusalem was Jordan's illegally annexed lands, not any Palestinian land. Israel won the Land in a war with Jordan. It is not in any way Palestinian land. The Palestinians never owned it, and in fact put in writing in 1964 that it would not take any sovereignty in the West Bank.

I might not be religious, but if the city I grew up in and learned culture from was being torn apart by two different groups with exclusionary ideologies, I would be upset as well. It's not just about it being a holy place, it's also about it being a place of culture and belonging. There's nothing productive about belittling their struggles because your values are removed from theirs.

But the groups don't have to have exclusionary ideologies. Hell as you can see the Palestinians are basically offering a compromise and only want the part of Jerusalem that isn't particularly connected to Judaism. On the other hand Israelis want everything. It's a bit sad that an ethnic group that has been persecuted for years around the world now does the same to another ethnic group that has also fought for independence even years before the modern Israel was formed. I understand that Palestinian territories may hide terrorists or other factions Israelis may not like but giving them independence would actually be a better choice since it would ease the tensions and allowing the people in those areas to focus on building their own communities would limit the aggression. I don't understand why Israel polititians are so stubborn, not only they are hurting thousands of innocent people but they are hurting their own citizens who are also victims of the violence cause by the absurd politics they follow.

There is no International law that gives the Palestinians any land in Israel. The West Bank and Jerusalem was Jordan's illegally annexed lands, not any Palestinian land. Israel won the Land in a war with Jordan. It is not in any way Palestinian land. The Palestinians never owned it, and in fact put in writing in 1964 that it would not take any sovereignty in the West Bank.
