@@robbo11a This year I and 10 others went to Sauz d'Oulx the skiing was fantastic the weather perfect and the town is terrific however I know we had the best week in the last 4-years for snow and weather. Italy is massively cheaper for beer and food and even the lift passes and I am looking for somewhere with a good snow record and is in Italy and La Thuile is a possible contender for 2025 but the videos before yours make it look like the dullest place on earth. Being very shallow I am easily lead by good videos showcasing resorts.
La Thuile is one of fave places to ski… actually had two holidays there we thought it was so good. Stay in the Placibel apartments if you can (it’s also an hotel) and there’s a really good supermarket in the complex… all a few minutes walk to the ski lifts. There’s also the free ski bus (from next to the apartments) that will take you further afield if you wish… so loads of options to ski elsewhere once you’re tired of the local pistes! Btw… if it’s an inexpensive skiing holiday you’re after… think also about Sweden (see my latest video)… we had 11 days there for the price of a week in Italy.
Hiya. It’s an Insta360 X3 camera… attached to the top of my helmet. I used to have the original version of the camera but its screen to view settings was truly terrible… was way too dim to see in daylight. The newer X3 model is a joy to use though.
Wow we havent even heard of these! Its incredible. We got the GoPro Hero10 two years ago... wish we had held on for this now! Thanks for getting back to me, enjoyed your holiday videos, we go there in two weeks time to La Thuile, hope our footage is as good!
La Thuile is one of my fave places to ski… been a couple of times and would go back every year if I could… loads of skiable slopes and easy to get to other areas… make use of the free ski bus to visit/ski in Courmayeur if you’re able.
Hiya fella… if you’ve never been to Courmayeur then it’s definitely worth the short free bus ride from La Thuile … only takes about 35 mins. Tbh though if you’ve an early start and good weather you’ll easily ski all the runs in a day there as it’s quite small (compared to La Thuile). Don’t forget you can ski over to France from La Thuile also.
It was really fine, nothing to fret over… it’s a very long drag lift and last year it broke down whilst I was midway up it… had to ski back to the start and take the parallel lift (there’s two side by side).
It’s a bit of a mixture … the higher slopes are all mostly in the sun but obviously once on the lower slopes and amongst the trees the piste gets shaded, but not too much ice regardless… depends if there’s rain on top of the snow. The lower slopes do get very slushy though towards the end of the day.
Hiya! They’re pretty good … basic (ish) but have all you need, bedroom, kitchen/dining area/ lounge, shower, ski storage. We’ve been twice and haven’t been disappointed.
Hi! The bus is free! There’s a regular service throughout the day and into the early evening that’s intended to transport the skiers free of charge in either direction… we used it a few times to also go shopping as well as ski
I have watched half a dozen videos on La Thuile and this is the first one with any soul. Thanks for sharing.
Wow, thank you!

@@robbo11a Thanks a lot for the info Rob! Really looking forward to the trip. Hope the snow and weather will be good!
Looks great, how was the drag lift from the french side back over to la thuile? Hoping my 11 Yr old can manage it!!

Great, appreciate the reply 👍 thank you
Wondered, does this resort tend to be out of the sun and more icy?
