I would add: " Just because there is a beach, it doesn't mean you can swim in it." Some people spot a sandy beach next to the road as they are driving, and decide to take a swim in it. You could get sucked in by the current and drown.
Also be careful where you explore. There are very jungly areas in the islands and you can easily get lost if you lose your orientation.

Agree on the “get on island time” tip. First time in the Caribbean and we went to St Croix. Landed at the airport and went straight to the grocery. Was losing my mind on how slow people were moving and realized I needed to chill out. Also, sunscreen is soooooo necessary!

Pretty everything you have said in this video is true. I have been to Haiti, Jamaica, and Cozumel and the cultures in those places are all so different from each other. Thankfully, I did not become a purple tourist while visiting those places because I applied and reapplied like crazy. My skin is as pale AF so I _really_ have to load up on the sunblock. I went zip-lining in Haiti, water-rafting in Jamaica, and checking out Mayan ruins and going to the beach in Cozumel. Out of all of those places, I would say that Cozumel was my favorite Caribbean island to visit, though it's technically part of Mexico. The beach there is absolutely gorgeous with its bright aqua blue water and white sand.

In the islands we weren't pestered hardly at all by people selling trinkets, and the locals were friendly and helpful. In Mexico all they wanted was to part you from your money. Néstor Abreu Jiménez it does not matter the cost of buying a different currency, what matters is the buying power. what is the difference if a currency is twice the cost, of it buys twice as much.

@@chriswilliams6568 yea but you can save money in exchange fees if you are from Europe

@@dindings Sorry but I do not think you know how currency exchange works. it does not matter that a Pound or Euro is worth more, or that a Vietnamese currency is worth so much less. It is the buying power. E.G I go to the UK with my Pounds, I have to pay 1.75CAD$ to get 1 pound. (changes every day) Does not matter, it is your buying power that counts, You may buy a hotdog there for 1 Pound, but it could cost here 1.75 CAD. You see, the same.

That arch of dirt & sand on the Aruban beach is no longer standing. It collapsed the year after we saw it. Probably too many tourists on it caused its demise.

Just a heads up. BRING CASH !!! At least 150-300 bucks in smaller bills.Do your research and call your bank before you head out here. Because certain banks may have a block against certain countries when it comes to ATM Withdrawals. I learned the hard way in Jamaica.

I've had some frustrating experiences with touts (never knew the right word for them before!) in Colombia. One artist came up to me and my gf while we were at the outside seating of a restaurant, showed us a picture he made. Hey man, thanks but no thanks. Then he showed us the next picture in his book, and then the next and the next, etc. Another tout, again at a restaurant, cussed at me in Spanish (called me a maricón) when I refused to buy his stuff. Not even under his breath, like he shouted at me and was angry.

Wolter, if you want to lose weight without the hassle, try intermittent fasting. E.g. on Mondays and Thursdays you do not eat for 24 hours, just water, some tea perhaps. Outside those days, eat what you like. If you also restrain your eating to an 8 hour time span on the other days, your figure will change dramatically in the direction of your wife's, which, from all we can see, is pretty perfect. You will find that you need not eat three or five times a day, as most Western people do. And then, try to get into fruit and vegetables and slow down on the carbs. But still you can eat anything you like. I myself avoid as much as I can stuff that is bad for my blood type but as many people have no clue what their blood type is (whites: either 0 or A, 90% chance), it is talking to a wall. Eating for your blood type will do away with the stress (tensions) that you feel in your body during and after eating. E.g. coffee is bad for 0 and good for A. That is an easy test. Try it sometime, it is fun and will lower your stress levels considerably, for stress need not be a mental thing.
