I put a couple of those traps around my back yard with 12ga flashbangs after some stuff got stolen. After a rash of stolen motorcycles in my area, I rigged one to the rear peg of mine. Figured if someone came with bolt cutters and cut the chain lock off the front wheel, they'd only get a couple of feet backing it up before tripping the trap. I went to go for a ride a couple weeks ago, unlocked the front wheel, then walked around to get on and *BOOM*! Forgot about the tripwire and about gave myself a heart attack! 🤣

I remember a bloke in England who was fed up with his house being burgled (US.burglarized) so he set up a tripwire with a 12 gauge shotgun shell on the path leading to his house and the postman took it in the leg. The post was late that day and the houseowner went to prison. True story.
Similar thing happened in the us, fella had an abandoned property with a shed, some guys had been poking around in there, so the owner set up a shotgun behind one of the doors. Blew the intruders leg off, but he lived, and sued the owner of the property. Was a huge legal fight, courts determined it was illegal to set booby traps, awarded the guy who lost his leg with damages.
Trip alarm facing up + 12 gauge Orion flare. Put it up at the top of a tree and it will alert you to which trip alarm went off. Never tried it but it should be possible considering they have their own built in barrel and are very low pressure.
Cartridges usually just explode when they aren’t in a chamber/barrel. The chamber is what supports the cartridges casing so when it detonates, the bullet has nowhere to go except down the rifled barrel.
Should see if you can find a smaller pipe strap and strap the casing more close to the crimp and put more of those straps you already have and cover the whole casing. See if it has some more cool results with the casing not blowing out and losing some of its energy out the sides.

When using this for security, it would be important to make the sound different than a gun so you could tell whether it was your alarm or someone else's gun. Maybe a bit of gas could be diverted to a whistle, or just fire it into a hubcap or something to make a noise. (If you can still find a metal hubcap.)
Tape the 50 bmg round up with a whole roll of duck tape; that'll allow it to burn a bit more of the powder and create a bigger boom. Even better: coat the round in nail varnish so it's water tight, then cast it in a block of plaster of paris leaving the primer end sticking out.. (incredible how you unlock my inner pyro every time I watch your vids 😁)
#1 that adapter is for a 209 shot gun shell primer, not 22 blanks. #2 I believe shooting loaded rounds would be illegal, it's meant for blanks. #3 you slip the blank in after you have it cocked. You couldn't do that with that pipe band securing the cartridge. All this is printed on the back of the package. If you slip a pipe over the cartridge that would constitute a barrel. AKA "Zip gun". BATF might even consider the 50 BMG shell casing as a barrel. BATF will probably explain this when they kick in your door. PS I loved the one were you shot the bowling ball out of that home made cannon.
They should do it with the .50 cal. uncovered aiming at a target a few meters away in slow motion to show how fast or slow the bullet comes out outside a rifle's chamber when the casing is anchored.
