I know you went over some similar combos in the video, but with Sunfish + Sardine, you can sardine summon, then sunfish bring back the sent sardine, synchro into porpoise, bring back a sunfish and make it a tuner, then go non tuner sard + tuner sunfish into arionpos, banish psiics, psiics banish the sunfish to summon and then add a Keaf, Murk of the Ghoti and immediately banish it off of the Psiics, then go porpoise + psiics into coral, coral bring back a sardine, then synchro the sard + the arionpos into dragite, then arionpos add the abyss shark by banishing Psiics, abyss shark summon add pike, abyss shark + coral into the abyss keeper and from there you have your pike to pitch something to add a water, but you also have dragite and a Keaf which is like a mini S:P. You could even if you wanted to run more Ghoti’s, play 1 Zep, and then when your Keaf banishes an opponents monster and brings out Psiics, Psiics can add Zep, banish it, then Zep will trigger to summon and synchro. Anyways, really interesting deck profile, and i’m intrigued to see where the deck will go next!!
This line seems awesome. I like how far it lets u play without ur normal and generates 2 interruptions. Only problem u really have with the fish engine is tht if u don't cut the engine short and just go into toad, ur basically asking to get nib'd
It’s pretty funny, I was also at the same place with the deck diva isn’t a good starter and the deck plays to many ns, so I’ve also made the switch to undine, but I have a different end goal in mind and that’s torrent the water barrier statue with fire being so prevalent I think it can completely skip turns. I’m super iffy on the Atlantean’s especially cuz of droll. But they may have a spot I’m still playing with the build. A card that I realized can be crazy with undine or any level 3 aqua is transmodify to make torrent
I definitely want to try to take advantage of the water statue. I also really do feel like there's potential for a fish combo deck utilizing the atlantean cards as an secondary engine. There's just no clear play style and so many different water engines u can combine in different ways
I think the truth might be that the deck could be a 60 card deck. With the amount of starters you already have + repetiteur with 3 synchro overtake, 3 prosp and 3 small world you could minimize the amount of bricks on garnets while still fitting a lot of non engine.
I'm honestly leaning closer to a 50 card list. I am starting to feel like I can't fit all the required engine and 12-15 hand traps without going to 46, 50, etc.
I never liked people playing deep sea aria. It's a brick if you draw multiple, requires setup so it's not truly a one card starter, and it has limitations to what it searches. I've always run a small world package for my Atlantean Mermail deck, having spooky dogwood and gaemeciel in the main give you bridges to your entire deck, and they are also good going second cards anyway. You can also get to one of them too, so if your hand is like prince + extenders + small world on top then you simply search for a dogwood at the end of your combo and now you've got a free handtrap, something that aria can't do. The icejades being aquas also give you bridges as well, so it's not like drawing the kaiju is even bad, and if you run the one of Mermail pike for the normal combo it's also a valid bridge since it's a level 4 fish. Just food for thought, I've always run small world and personally think it's the far superior option to aria as it gives you access to not only your starters but also your extenders such as abyssteus
Hey man, the comment here! Ur 100% right about aria not being a true 1 card starter. Aria is basically a worse dargoons because it requires a waybto trigger it and with it not being a water, it then requires even further set up. Luckily the white aura engine helps with this cus simply opening sardine or the spell tht searches it gets aria online without spending any resources. This being said, small world is stronger as in it doesn't really care about wht other cards u open as u open a monster, ur almost garenteed ur desired search target. I guess wht really keeps off of small world is having to sack a card in hand so while ur getting the card u want, it's still a -1. Doesn't mean it's a bad card but is important to take note of. I need to test with small world, take it to a locals, and see how it does for me to have a more concrete opinion on it
@@deepseaygo250 yeah definitely test it out, going second game 1 it can catch so many people off guard when you add that kaiju to hand, and going first it obviously gets you anything. For this deck specifically, I don't really feel like the -1 hurts only because we do have one card starters and if you think about what aria requires, it's kind of a -1 itself unless you have exactly the white aura to send from deck. If you have to start your turn with a minstrel or an icejade to discard to make aria live, then in a way it's also a -1 anyway.
@@deepseaygo250 no problem, getting an ice dragon and lappis out immediately forces a baronne or chengying play before you've even begun your turn and if you open heavy you just pop something turn 0.
Have you considered beatuniful princess over the undimmed engine as well as like the copy of lifeless? Basically flipping the function of the engines so that fish is your main combo and you have Atlantean mermail as an advantage engine?
I actually haven't considered that line. At face value, my first thought is its similar to diva by the fact it hard loses to ash where as the undine and prince play through ash just fine. It's definitely worth experimenting cus it reduce the engine count by a fair margin.
@@deepseaygo250 guess I’ll need to wait to see the updated list I’m playing vicariously through you tcg wise, been loving Atlantean mermail on MD but you get 3 tidal so it’s a completely different deck haha!
I love Moulin, but I noticed I wasnt consistently finding places to drop moulin at the 5 count in grave. I also wanted to keep the deck size down to 40 as much as possible. In general, I go back n forth if I want to continue the playing card because of the battle phase clause. This deck loses alot of gas and pressure after the first turn and I wanted to make sure I could kill my opponent on the follow up. I am still considering the card moving forward, but I dont believe its mandatory for the deck to do well.
Good job man you did well water decks struggle with starters in general honestly impressive deck 👏 keep your head up
Will do homie! I needed this regional to really test the deck and show me where weaknesses lie to further advance the strategy
