My expensive AF coffee pot, bought in a back to school sleep deprived panic, is also sitting on a dumpster baby table that's probably about 20 years old 😆
Definitely. My household saves up for Christmas every year and a couple of years ago we decided to blow our ENTIRE grownup present budget (not the kids' budget, that would be mean) on a really expensive Cuckoo rice cooker that talks to us in Korean when we make rice. Does it make better rice than the $20 Walmart cooker we had before? Okay yeah a bit actually but it's not like the rice before was BAD. Did we need to blow a few hundred dollars on it? Oh hell no. Is it fun as heck and does it make me feel fancy every time we use it (and we use it all. The. Time)? Abso-frickin-lutely.
I would also rather pay more for my appliances with a decent warranty than buying cheaper ones that look ugly and make me sad + break much faster so I have to buy more of them in my lifetime which would likely be more expensive
Oh YES! Priorities indeed! Around 2 years ago I splurged my birthday and Christmas money of 2 full years on a fancy coffee machine. It grinds beans and makes the perfect latte without finicky cleaning of little hoses and doo-dads. To de-scale all you need to do is add de-scaler, then press a few buttons. To clean the inside you take out a big part and stick it under the tap, then let it dry. People see it and go “You’ve got serious money!” Nope. It was on mega-sale. It combined two Christmasses and two birthdays from three separate people. I don’t have my nails done, rarely have my hair done, most of my clothes are hand-me-downs or thrifted, I can’t remember the last time I bought shoes outside of a sale, my mobile is five years old, etc. But every morning I have my fancy latte. With coffee beans I bought on sale and milk that’s brandless. It’s my quiet “Oh crap, the day is starting” mental health moment before the Muppet Show Madness of the day begins. Enjoy your SMEG appliances, and may they last for years.
THIS. Hot beverages are self-care, and making your own can be a calming little ritual before you hear the inevitable HONK! HONK! of the day's clown-car of nonsense arriving
@@celecele999 - It’s a Philips Latte Go, from the 3000 series and it’s capable of making Espresso, normal coffee, Americano, Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato, or a cup of plain hot water. What was the main selling point for me is that the milk frothing system can be very easily taken apart completely, and is very easy to clean. Literally in seconds. It’s 100% separate from the coffee system which means no need to clean off spouts after every single use to avoid sour milk residues in your coffee spouts after a day’s use. Ever. Then came the secondary selling points: My daughter likes tea, and the hot water comes out of a separate spout (where the milk container attaches), so no contamination in taste there. She also uses it for hot water to make instant ramen. The machine can run without the water filter cartridges if you want to. That means more descaling, but if you want to you can (I use off brand water filtering cartridges). Easy descaling programme. And if you have a totally crappy memory like mine, TH-cam abounds with videos on how to do it. Compared to the descaling programme of the Nespresso I had, it.s fast and less buttons to push. Easy to clean brewing unit. Open a door. Fish out the unit. Brush out the inside (a paint brush is what I use). Stick the brewing unit under the tap and rinse off any grinds stuck on there. Shake off water, let it dry. Or if you’re like me and remember to clean your unit right when you’re craving a coffee, whip out the hair dryer to blow off any remaining water droplets. Re-insert the unit and reward yourself with a cup of coffee. The drip tray is easy to remove, comes apart easily for cleaning and assembles just as easily. Lots of different coffee channels recommended this one as a machine that brews a very decent cup of coffee/espresso/cappuccino/latte. The milk foam isn’t the finest (don’t care, it’s pretty good) and the foaming is loud but hey, driving to a Starbucks will wake you up more… and in the long run, cost you lots more. I can just toss the grounds instead of having to recycle capsules. My grounds go in the compost now. Or any place in the garden where I want to keep slugs at bay. That machine's been running smoothly for several years now. Still runs 100% the same as when I bought it. If you want only milk foam, there is a workaround for that. Compared to other fully automatic systems it's not overly big. My house is very small, I can't have a behemoth eating up space. I chose a model from the 3000 series because I wanted a machine capable of making me a reasonable approximation to a latte, but I wasn't willing to shell out a fortune for something that makes 12 different types of coffee and necessitates an engineering degree to run. If you want espresso, coffee and cappucino, go for the cheaper 2000 series. If you want more choice, save up more and take a closer look at the 4000 and 5000 series. Be careful to make sure you get one with their Latte Go milk frothing system, because they do have very similar machines that have the classic milk foaming rod thingy. If milk dries out on a milk rod, it’s no fun getting that off. If you’re sharing your home with anyone who’s likely to forget to clean off a milk foaming rod immediately, don’t buy one that has a milk rod. Forgot to take off the milk container and the remaining milk got sour? Don’t worry. Tip it out, clean it out, you’re good. Or stick it in the dishwasher (I don’t have one). Broke the milk container? I haven’t done that but I saw a video of a guy gushing about the fact that you can buy a replacement easily on the Philips website. Always good to know. All the accessories like the filter cartridges etc are easy to get online. In Europe, where I’m based, your average brick and mortar household goods store has them too. Anyhow, I’m very happy with my machine, as you can tell from this loooooong response (sorry about that). I used to treat myself to the occasional coffee to go. Not anymore. If you do so on a daily basis, this machine will pay itself back within a year, perhaps two depending on to go coffee prices. Especially if you are smart about where and how you shop for your coffee beans. And it’s so nice to waddle out of bed and have a soul-restoring cup of warm comfort within seconds. Word of warning: loved ones like teenagers and spouses will learn to bribe you with a quick and easy cup very fast. They’ll cotton onto the fact that it’s a very easy and low effort method to tame the beast in you. Prepare yourself for multiple oh-so-friendly cups lovingly served in bed or gently set in front of you right before they hit you with some request or other. Guard those boundaries… or roll with it. But always tack on an extra favour if you chose the latter. LOL
So Right!! Making your own fancy coffee/tea is so much wiser and plus you can truly customize your beverage! And occasionally ya find a "cheap brand" of coffee/tea that turns out even more delicious!
Yes! I love matcha lattes, but buying them from the shops is $5+ per serving! I found a mix at target that tastes exactly the same, and costs $10 up front, but gives me 10 servings - 10 for the price of 2 is a great deal!
I feel this so much! Most of my house is thrifted, gifted or dumpstered... but did I save and buy an espresso machine that now lives in glory on the counter for multiple daily uses...fuck yeah I did! Bless you, you're the best!! 💜✨️
Exactly. I buy so very little new, so I'm gonna splurge a little bit and not have any issues with it. Nicer quality window AC so I can actually sleep with it in my room? Hell yeah I'm getting that. Craft supplies? Totally (within reason).
As long as bills are paid, people you are responsible for are fed & clothed & you have some saving to cover your A$$ for a month or so. (+ some other responsibilities) buy the things that make you happy.
She has a good balance going on though: dumpster find repurposed, new items. Sounds smart to me. And she's happy, yes? I thrift most of my shirts, but invest in shoes that last for years.
Ahahah no that's not how ADHD works. Savings? That notion doesn't exist. We constantly live on the brink of chaos, restrict ourselves on everything important, suddenly splurge on the most irrelevant online BS, spend nothing for two months to barely make it out of negative bank account, then start all over again, except every cycle the anxiety somehow gets worse.
@@Bahamaria I have ADHD and having multiple lots of savings helps. I still impulse spend, but having "I absolutely can't touch this except for real emergencies" money sat in a place I can't see when I normally check my back account and can't easily access helps to keep it safe from those late night impulse spends. If I can't see it, it doesn't exist. I'm still broke AF, but I know I can pay the insurance excess if the cat needs the vets
I feel this. I have about a thousand dollars worth of discounted premium fabrics including linen and silk in my sewing stash, but most of my furniture is cheap goodwill refurb or Walmart quality lol
This is legitimately how I am. I'm super frugal for the stuff I dint care about, but if I care about it I have a top of the line whatever it is. I can only afford that because I don't spend that way on everything. 🤷♀️balance.
Same. The majority of my furniture (and a lot of everything else) was thrifted or dumpster picked, but you can pry my hiking shoes out my cold dead hands. As long as my toaster fits bagels I don't care, but nice knives are a must.
I couldn't tell you the last time I bought myself new clothes, bras, or undies, but my yarn stash is coming on nicely and looking gawjiss in the storage cupboards (plural) I bought for it 🤷🏽♀️😌 #NotSorry 🧶🗄🗄
Omg am the same 😂😂, the last time I bought bras was like 3 years ago maybe, it was a pack of 3, the only 3 bras I have, but I can Never have enough yarn 😂😂
You must share a gene with my daughter because even her dorm room at college was stacked with yarn bins!😂 Knitting and crocheting have kept her from slugging people more than one😉
Same here...I had to have a $600 KitchenAid mixer (combined birthday/Christmas gift to myself), several hundred dollars of pots and pans (purchased in small sets over the coarse of a year) and special baking pans all because I was raised by women who show their love for other by cooking for them and I actually find this relaxing and fulfilling. I find pulling together ingredients, mixing, kneading, stuffing, braiding, baking and wrapping for gifting makes me smile inside and find an internal peace. And seeing someone eat something I made and smiling while expressing their enjoyment of it makes me happy to have given them a homemade yummy they love.
"Accoutrements" is one of my favourite words! Plus a good coffee maker is pretty much an investment these days, and you have kids, so it's kind of essential.
It's weird that everyone doesn't own a kettle, it's something everyone has in the UK and Australia, and they are definitely essential to making proper tea, good on you for enjoying yours 😊😄
This reminds me of how you can never really tell a person's situation just by looking at them. A woman might show up to a homeless shelter nicely dressed, carrying a nice purse with a wallet and cards and everything, but she might still legitimately have no place to go that night. Or maybe someone does have a place to sleep but they can't afford food. Maybe someone is recently homeless or just got kicked out of their place and so they still have nice stuff but their whole life just changed. Just a reflection on the fact that we should never judge.
I spend every Sunday night painting my nails with my fancy indie brand polish. I also have been avoiding cauliflower for the past four months because it’s $5 a head. Just because I buy something to give myself happiness in this life doesn’t mean I’m not poor 🤷🏽
Where I live the price is exactly the same omg, we were shopping last week and I haven't had a cauliflower in a loooooong time so I wanted one, after seeing the price I was like, rice and beans sounds really nice!! Is terrifying to see how a frigging cauliflower is so expensive 😭😭
YES. My kitchen stuff is all beautiful and red because my kitchen is something I have a hard time enjoying spending time in. Everything HAS to be beautiful. It means I eat Right&Regular. I'm saving up for either a red or neon yellow fridge.
My indulgence is traveling first class (domestic only). Yes, it’s a couple hundred dollars more and we all get there at the same time, but I get to go through the first class TSA line (I have pre check so that doesn’t really matter), board early, never have a problem finding space for my carry on, get free drinks, free checked bags, sometimes a meal, get off the plane quicker, and the flight attendants have fewer people so they are VERY attentive and responsive. I’m not into expensive shoes, clothes, or handbags. That’s my splurge and it makes my travel experience SO much better! 😁
It bugs me that people judge things like that. Like, they could've been gifts, they could have been second hand, hell they could've also been fished out of the dumpster and scrubbed real good
Almost all of the fancy stuff in my house. My mother-in-law gifted me. But not like gifted me like she got a new trinket and gave me the old one. But it's still so fancy that people comment.
Hubby and I aren't rich, but we live within our means AND have a Smeg coffee pot and kettle. (The coffee maker was his Father's Day gift, and we later bought the kettle on sale--20% off!--at Kowalski's.) The super cool Atomic-Age aesthetic is worth the splurge, I think.
You found the secret way of life. Figure out what makes you happy, fancy caffeine and getting a good deal, and doing it. Mine is walking barefoot in nice grass and also getting good deals❤🎉
I garden so no one thinks I'm weird walking barefoot in the grass! It's just an excuse to watch insects and touch dirt. I barely get any vegetables cuz I refuse to use chemicals. I can't cut back a flower so they all look overgrown and crazy. I have awesome herbs for my eggs in the morning, Even though they're so overgrown, people who come to my house think they're weeds.
The Vitamix was a necessity for us. I broke two blenders doing strawberry smoothies in the course of 3 years. Just asking them to blend frozen strawberries with some pineapple juice and banana. We spent the money. Got a refurbished Vitamix and I've had it for 15 years. I wonder how many more blenders I would have bought if it wasn't for the Vitamix.
❤😂 I feel ya girl. I have a $1500 75" TV to play video games on but wear thrift store clothes. Whatever brings you joy babe. You do you boo. Much love. ❤🎉
I definitely feel this! I have some pretty big tattoos from some amazing artists, but I’m going through some financial issues right now, namely in the fact that I don’t have a high enough income to qualify for any decent apartments on my own. Some of my coworkers have made comments on how much I must have spent on my tattoos, but I don’t see it any different from people treating themselves to manicures. My cost was a big one upfront, but I saved up specifically for them over a long period of time. It’s also not how much money I have that is the issue, I have plenty saved, I just don’t make enough month to month.
I can just imagine her getting that out of the dumpster. I imagine her driving down the road and shouting "WE HAVE TO PULL OVER!" Then she's RUNNING to the dumpster and I'd imagine Jack and Abby were along for the ride which means she probably forced them to help her. She also probably had to drag one of them if not both by their collars out of their seats and pulling them to the dumpster. God, that's just. An odd but hilarious visual
My mom made me drive down our road with a chair sticking out unsecured in the trunk because our neighbor was giving it away. My trunk was completely open, and flapping up and down.
You don't need to justify to anyone how you choose to allocate your own money. 💜 Proud of you for setting financial priorities that work best for you and your family.
The Christmas before I bought my first house, when I was in the depths of apartment hunting for shit-boxes I couldn’t afford, getting more and more disheartened every weekend, my mum bought me the white smeg toaster and mini kettle… I didn’t have a bench to put it on yet, but I put it away and waited… 3.5 months later I moved into my new home! A house no less, way better than the shitty appartments I had been looking at, better than I ever imagined I would ever own, and when I moved it it gave me sooooo much joy to take those appliances out and put them on my bench. And they looked so good that I went and treated myself to the matching espresso machine. It’s been over a year now and they still bring me joy. I make a lot of choices to forgo plenty of things, but I do like me a nice shiny “Italian” appliance.
My friend bought a fancy DeLonghi espresso machine from Costco (the most expensive one) and gave me his $300 one and the fancy bean grinder. I told him I wouldn’t use it and he convinced me to try it for a few days. Omg it changed my life. And he ended up returning the fancy one bc he didn’t like it at all. I only buy good coffee and my favorite creamer and it’s my special treat. Splurging on something special is the best feeling. Pairing it with something you “rescued” from someone’s leftovers is priceless. Congrats on your fancy coffee pot! ❤ you deserve it!!!
You buy whatever you want girlfriend! No explanation needed. I watch you for the joy you bring me after a long hard day. Thank you for that. I wish all that is good in this world for you. Enjoy the best coffee and tea and let them call you a Rich Bitch! Accept the title, own it, enjoy it and live your best life!❤
I was talking about this with my friends the other day--if you can find a way to afford something that's high quality and last, go for it, even if it's the only "good" thing you can get--because then you have the one that will work for you!
You go girl!!!! A thrifted table from the dumpster. Hey we have gotten so many things that people have dumped as well. another person's junk is another's treasure 😁. And I love thrift stores as well. There's nothing wrong with splurging on yourself for something once in awhile even if its just one or two expensive things.
Exactly! I bought two new bras last year, for myself and not my daughter. I have tons of craft supplies for my crochet, knitting, sewing and embroidery projects. I actually have some clothes I still wear that are as old as my daughter (25). Quality purchases from before kids, thrifting and hand-me-downs. I have three "in the cabinet" sewing machines, a table top machine and a table top serger machine. A fabric collection, a yarn collection, an embroidery floss collection, a "rubber" stamp and ink collection. And a jewelry findings (making) collection. I greatly enjoy making things with my hands. I also have hand tools as my ol' man isn't the only handyman around the house. I am quite good at mending clothing, so my stuff lasts.😅
Repurposed finds are the best!! Even better.. being able to purchase an investment for something that you love for your home. It all balances out. 🌞 ☕️
You do you Boo….don’t worry about what anyone else says…. As long as your family’s needs are met….you can do whatever you want…everyone else can suck it!!!
Well, Mama , YOU DESERVE IT ,,,ALL TO HECK! For everything you and all Mamas of the world ,going above and beyond for your families. Drink that coffee girl out of that high-end coffee maker!!!
Sounds smart to me. You prioritized what you wanted most and saved where you can in other areas. We have done that with many kitchen things. We have an inexpensive cutlery set but top of the range pans and knives. Some were inherited, my mom and my wife's mom were both chefs. It's about knowing what's important to you and planning around that.
I am with you! My motto, "I want what I got to work." So much of my stuff that breaks gets repaired. (I have a 30 year old toaster oven that is still going strong.) However, I do spend $$ on a few luxuries, one of which is $26/lb beef jerky. So worth it.
Love it! We all have things that are more important to us that others don’t share. I think people work hard to pay bills, fees & clothe kids. I have always been a thrifter, yard saler but save for the things others find stupid like an expensive coffee pot or duvet that meet my likes (yes my no one else’s) 😂😂love the items on dumpster rescue! (Just cuz someone else didn’t need or want it doesn’t mean it serves no use or isn’t nice)
i don’t really have disposable income. in fact, due to mental health problems, i can’t even work right now. did that stop me from buying a $300 self-cleaning litter box? no, no it did not, and it was one of the best purchases i’ve ever made. my whole household’s quality of life has improved drastically. my point is, as long as you’re able to keep the creatures you’re responsible for alive, you’re doing just fine. ❤
Same! My coffee and tea bar is my slice of heaven! It’s roughly $600 worth of blissfulness! It’s the one thing in life I will always spend a stupid amount of money on for myself. ❤
Um.... Have you signed up for a Plum Deluxe Subscription yet???!!! They're a fabulous tea company and their tea brings me joy, as well as the community, they do a book club, create n sip, and tea swaps. Legit, the one subscription I couldn't let go ....❤
Hey no judgement. My self care is buying extremely expensive tech gadgets i may not be able to afford. Tryin to get better on it. Anyway buy what you want, love your vids!
I feel this. I used to work for Nespresso. I once had a Vertuo Plus, an Original Line Creatista, and an Essenza Mini. I got two from my yearly free machine, and used my employee credit for the last one. On the outside, it looked bougie AF. Shortly after quitting, I sold the Essenza Mini and Vertuo Plus. Didn't really need three coffee machines, and way preferred my Walmart coffee maker. I still have the Creatista, but I will absolutely sell it if I get into financial trouble. Aesthetically rich and actually rich are two entirely different things lol.
My husband and I scrimped and saved and bought a refurbished Pasquini espresso machine. Three months later the world shut down in 2020. That machine paid for itself in having quality coffee beverages while being stuck working from home. Four years later my father was over and, quite condescendingly, asked how often we actually used the espresso machine. I looked at him straight in the face and said, “Every f***ing day.” He shut up after that. I get a cappuccino every morning. It’s wonderful.
Hey, I have found some really good furniture sitting next to dumpsters. Saved me so much money that i turn around and spend on pretty (and expensive) fabric, trim and notions for my cosplay habit... my favorite piece is a bedside table where the sides of the shelf look like a confession box, it's so cool!
Yes!! This is me too 😂☕ I would rather buy for the house and kids over myself, at end of the day my kids will eventually not need me so I will pay for all I can while I'm here for them ❤
Ok definitely had to go look up the coffee pots. Super cool. How ever don't think they are unreasonably priced. My stupid ninja coffee bar thing cost about the same. But it works for us. Even if we don't use all the features. I would buy one of these if it had the ability to make one cup at a time like mine.
I love this. People say things like "on you are taking your family on a cruise, you have money".. um no I'm a single mom that gets NO child support at all and my FT job pays 15 an hours... I literally donated plasma and worked a second and third PT job for a year to save and pay for this vacation, cause it's important to me.. it's my self care and I don't mind busting my neck for over 365 days/7 days a week so I can take a vacation with my kids. Eta : I also have NO IDEA when the last time I purchased underwear was . My cousin literally saw my holey drawers and gave me some she had never worn lol.
First off: the work you put in is insane, I want to acknowledge that. It's a big accomplishment and you should be proud out yourself. I do wonder... doing 3 jobs probably means you are rarely ever home, and when you are home you're probably still super busy. It's great that you got a holiday with your kids from that hard work, but the hard work also keeps you from spending time with your kids on a more regular basis. Which limits your availability to them as support while they grow emotionally and physically. Unless your kids are 18+ and fully independent, then nevermind the second part. And just to clarify this was me wondering, not judging. I'm aware I don't know your entire life nor your kids.
It’s cool that your vice is pricey electrical appliances, mine is fancy nail varnishes…yet I prefer “no frills” grocery items when I go food shopping(also bargain bins)😂😂😂😂😂😂
I've got a filter coffee machine that I love 😊 i can only afford to buy ground coffee once a month and I've got a kettle for the instant coffee i use the rest of the time. Occasionally, i make the instant coffee in the coffee machine, it smells better and I enjoy the sound 😊 . I've got a can opener that cost more than I paid for my microwave and if it doesn't last as long as me I'll buy one just like it. If the microwave dies I'll find another used one for a tenner. Some useful things give you joy with their perfectly satisfying blend of functionality, look and feel. Others are just... there. Don't ever feel bad about having some things that are beautiful. And don't call yourself irresponsible unless you fed the littles only cornflakes and box mac and cheese for a month to pay for the coffee machine. You spent long enough without lots of disposable income. Enjoy your Smeg things 😊 every day
I bought my self a iPhone 14 Pro cos the fancy camera brings me so much joy from the photos I take on my mental health walks. I would have absolutely be fine with the normal one but the joy it bring was well worth the scrimping for afford it.
That’s like 500$ of equipment on a dumpster table. I love the chaos 😂
Lmao like she said, ✨priorities✨ 😂
It's not chaos, it's balance!
This is your version of guys putting a $1,000 stereo in a beater Corolla.
We at least know where the choas lunches started. It came from here 😂and than to abby
My expensive AF coffee pot, bought in a back to school sleep deprived panic, is also sitting on a dumpster baby table that's probably about 20 years old 😆
You are allowed to save up to buy things that bring YOU joy just because others may not understand screw them.
Just gonna say this!
Yes! I have things that I saved up for for a long time. Definitely doesn’t make me rich! ❤
Spot on. People are allowed to treat themselves.

What kind is this? Have been looking for one that cleans this simply! Thank you in advance 😊
Ever.
Then came the secondary selling points:
My daughter likes tea, and the hot water comes out of a separate spout (where the milk container attaches), so no contamination in taste there.
LOL
Awesome!!!❤ love this response 😊
Best response EVER! 🥰🥰 make you coffee machine last forever 👍
But by making the fancy coffee in the fancy coffee pot you don't have to buy fancy coffee at $6+ at a fancy coffee shop. 😊
So Right!! Making your own fancy coffee/tea is so much wiser and plus you can truly customize your beverage! And occasionally ya find a "cheap brand" of coffee/tea that turns out even more delicious!
It pays for itself within 6mo
Truth💯
Same. It’s nice to feel like my family is not the only ones that live like this.
As long as bills are paid, people you are responsible for are fed & clothed & you have some saving to cover your A$$ for a month or so. (+ some other responsibilities) buy the things that make you happy.
it's recommended that emergency funds can cover 3-6 months of expenses, but yeah, buy things that make you happy if you can afford to
And probs saving for retirement, if you can.
This is legit.
Same here! 😊 Sewing is very rewarding.
Same! 😅😂
#NeverBeSorry for doing/buying something that makes you happy!! 😊 Have a great day!
I bought my knife set one at a time. 😂 and my KitchenAid came from an estate sale on discount day!
"Accoutrements" is one of my favourite words!
Plus a good coffee maker is pretty much an investment these days, and you have kids, so it's kind of essential.
Same here and I can't say it without a horrible French accent 😂😅
@@galaderialcox3197 I think it's illegal not to!
@squee599 LOL it is in my world
That's called ✨frugality✨ spend money on what you want and scrimp on everything else!
Thank you for making me feel better about buying a pillow shaped like a pumpkin, for no other reason than it's a pumpkin pillow.
Yes! But is it also orange? (Need to know) 😏🎃
@@cindyblack1486 orange, with a green stalk 😁
Nice, I picked up a little pumpkin casserole dish, 100% worth it.
@@nibindringiel Perfect! 👍
Awesome ^_^ ♡♡♡
You deserve it mama! Coffee is essential to toddler moms, don’t let anyone make you feel bad for trying to keep yourself energized.
I don't have an ultra high-end coffee pot, but I definitely have a fancy electric kettle to precisely heat water for my excess of loose leaf teas 😅
Well said 💖

Priorities, indeed!
I LOVE curbmart! Keep things out of the landfill AND save your $$$ for where You want to spend them❤
Curbmart!! 😂😂😂 I luv it!!!
#Curbmart!!! ❤😂❤
"Dumpster diving" is Terrible term;
"Curbmart" elevates the practice as it deserves😍
I love a good curbmart, that's where so much of my furniture came from.
curbmart! stealing!
Yep. Get a little $4 wheel of Brie? Hell yeah. $4/pound asparagus? Broccoli looks good. "Splurging" on little things that make us happy is worth it.
Love it! Priorities, chaos and zero guilt!!!
I lost it when she said “accoutrements”. So fancy ❤. I love her!
Financial irresponsibility IS self care at times, lol. It’s so real.
YES. My kitchen stuff is all beautiful and red because my kitchen is something I have a hard time enjoying spending time in. Everything HAS to be beautiful. It means I eat Right&Regular. I'm saving up for either a red or neon yellow fridge.
Gwena, I gotta say you & your hair look, _gorgeous darling!_ ❤❤❤❤❤
I've never even heard of a Smeg lol. 🤷♀️ But I admittedly fall for lots of advertisements of things I probably don't need lol.
I mean buying good quality appliances isn't actually the same thing as falling for ads and buying what you don't need.
Smeg make high end kitchen appliances that are good. They are most well known for their fridges.
I feel like the kind of assumptions and judgments just make it even harder to talk about money, cause it's so easy to have your problems dismissed
Hubby and I aren't rich, but we live within our means AND have a Smeg coffee pot and kettle. (The coffee maker was his Father's Day gift, and we later bought the kettle on sale--20% off!--at Kowalski's.)
The super cool Atomic-Age aesthetic is worth the splurge, I think.
I like the esthetic but I can't help but make dirty jokes whenever I hear the name
This reminds me of when we got the Vitamix blender. (It was on special at Costco, AND we have autism-inspired food texture issues in the family.)
Oh and the dough container is the only reason I can make pizza dough. So that saves money too .
Well, I completely get it. If you feel it's well spent, that's what matters since it's for you!
Girl, you do you. I get it. I can't afford food but I'll buy art supplies with my last dollar. No chaos here!
You don't need to justify to anyone how you choose to allocate your own money. 💜 Proud of you for setting financial priorities that work best for you and your family.
I feel this lady, I'm all for whatever makes my coffee ☕ better
Coffee AND Tea, depending on the day!!💛
It must be expensive because I don’t even know what it is…never heard of it . 😂
I see you repping that harney and sons tea! It's my fave!!! I have soooooo much
The Christmas before I bought my first house, when I was in the depths of apartment hunting for shit-boxes I couldn’t afford, getting more and more disheartened every weekend, my mum bought me the white smeg toaster and mini kettle… I didn’t have a bench to put it on yet, but I put it away and waited… 3.5 months later I moved into my new home!
I GET IT!!!! YOU must have some sort of payoff. If it's your coffee bar, so be it! It gets you through. Bravo
You got the priorities straight, don't listen to the haters out there, do you, if it makes YOU happy, then, who cares 🙏🙏
I still have my free Gevalia coffee maker from twenty years ago. lol
You buy whatever you want girlfriend! No explanation needed. I watch you for the joy you bring me after a long hard day. Thank you for that.
I wish all that is good in this world for you. Enjoy the best coffee and tea and let them call you a Rich Bitch! Accept the title, own it, enjoy it and live your best life!❤
Priorities 💯
I’m stealing “irresponsible irresponsible”
Save where you can to spend how you wish. 💜
You go Gwenna!!!!! You deserve that and much more!!!! ❤
I 100% get it, there are things you so for your sanity. Nothing wrong with living below or at your means and treating yourself every once and a while.
Dumb but always smart 🤣
Awesome. You are a ninja jedi master genius goddess. Real life.
I feel you girl! Only spend where it's good for your mental health hugs!!!
Thank you!! I don’t go to spas or get a mani and pedi. THAT’S why I can go to a restaurant with friends once in a while.
You deserve joy!! You deserve nice things!!! Be gentler and kinder to yourself ❤❤
I love the colour and how it looks retro but not at the same time ❤. But f that price 😂
i don’t really have disposable income. in fact, due to mental health problems, i can’t even work right now. did that stop me from buying a $300 self-cleaning litter box? no, no it did not, and it was one of the best purchases i’ve ever made. my whole household’s quality of life has improved drastically.
my point is, as long as you’re able to keep the creatures you’re responsible for alive, you’re doing just fine. ❤
Coffee is vitally important to world peace ☮️ so I support your priorities. My daughter in law won a Smeg bundle of appliances, same colour as yours 😄
You have quality tools to make something. You use it a lot and love it. ❤️
Love this woman..who gives a shit what's in her house.. dumpster diving is the shit, the shit u can find..
I approve these purchases. It makes the most sense.
Same! My coffee and tea bar is my slice of heaven! It’s roughly $600 worth of blissfulness! It’s the one thing in life I will always spend a stupid amount of money on for myself. ❤
You go on with your bad self you awesome human! Love your posts!!!!
My self care is buying irresponsible amounts of pokémon plushies
I love it! And I think it’s great that you prioritize what you love.
You do you girl! RESPECT!
Um.... Have you signed up for a Plum Deluxe Subscription yet???!!! They're a fabulous tea company and their tea brings me joy, as well as the community, they do a book club, create n sip, and tea swaps. Legit, the one subscription I couldn't let go ....❤
I completely agree with you. Priorities must come first 😅
Self care is self care, just defined differently by everyone 💜✨
You are my spirit animal!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey, you do you!!! It's nobodys business how you spend your money!!!❤
“…and scrubbed it real good.” Same girl🤣
I’m with you. Coffee brewing IS my priority.
I feel this. Some things just NEED to be good quality or new and others are just as fine when they are living their 2nd or 3rd life with you.
❤
Coffee and tea help one function. Fancy ones may work better and less breaking down. Also good table.
I relate to this soooooo much. Hah! The dumpster dived table is my favorite part.
I feel this. I just bought a multicolor 3D printer, that I can/t afford, and I will likely be 3D printing my meals until next pay day. 😂😂😂
Same girl. Same. 2/3 from my stuff is from the trash. Rest is serious stuff and I'm ashamed every time someone gets confused 😂
I love your style! Priorities! ❤❤❤
@@undefinederror40404 thank you so much!!! Seriously. That really means a lot to me!!!
Enjoy your Smeg things 😊 every day
Yes!!!!! Self care is diffrent for everyone❤❤❤❤
I felt that “leave it” in my soul
You are soooo my type of person! Love it.
I bought my self a iPhone 14 Pro cos the fancy camera brings me so much joy from the photos I take on my mental health walks. I would have absolutely be fine with the normal one but the joy it bring was well worth the scrimping for afford it.
