This is really cool! I hope iConnect incorporates some of these features into the iManifold app!! (Hint Hint)

That fluke meter is fairly high-end. I'm guessing the lowest cost in that series is about $500. My question is do you want both voltage and current or would a current only device suffice? Current only would be much less expensive. As most tecs have a voltmeter in the voltage does not change, it would handle the majority of what we want to see

I'm spoiled and want it all Jim Bergmann I guess current would suffice though. On another note it looks to me that the Cooper Atkins 4005 pipe clamp ought to have enough room in the handle to squeeze in the zigbee radio so that the pipe clamps could be wireless and eliminate the spaghetti mess that the 12' pipe straps produce. Just a thought...

Again Stephen Rardon has a great point about the ZigBee in the pipe clamps... That would make it so much cleaner and easier! As well as the possibility of using as a repeater..... Just saying ....

Does this ir3000 allow you to update the firmware on a multimeter, like the 289, in lieu of the ir189-usb cable?

These IR connectivity FC and USB are epic fails. FC should be internal like competitors and USB should be a simple cable. It is hard to believe that Fluke has gone this route.

Are you suggesting that Fluke should use a USB connection instead of IR?

Hi there - Fluke Connect works best on devices running Android 4.4 or newer.

You can't even get two 289's with there own ir3000FC's to connect to the connect app at the same time. Why not say that part out loud, huh? I guess that was way to much app coding to do for Fluke's "half-assed things" budget? For a company to have pretty nice meters, but to put out such a half-assed effort of an app is mind-boggling. Even the shit-show of a program that Flukeview is is embarrassing! It's like a program that would have been written in the mid 90's and was never updated. And to still be bundling that crap with meters still to this day, is just pure greed and Boeing-level bean-counter bullshit.
