- I've had this question a couple of times now - Which CW paddle should I get - a "single lever" paddle or a "dual lever" paddle?
Ultimately, I think its a matter of preference. I have heard that single lever paddles are great for very high speed CW, but I have to tell you - I think it all has to do with proficiency. I recommend you try both ways and see what best suits you!

O.K. !
You've convinced me !
I'm going back to my
J - 38 !
Just kidding !
Even though I run about 50/50 on running my Iambic paddles correctly, there's a reason my paddles are Black !
As I can never go back !
To a Straight Key, that is !
👍😋
I just realized that I’m using my iambic paddle like a single lever. Maybe I’ll give a single lever a try
I've been licensed for over 50 years, I have always operated almost 100% CW. I own several Iambic paddles but I have always found it much easier using the single lever paddle. As far as newcomers to CW, it's enough to deal with learning to send, let alone learning the squeeze method of sending with an iambic paddle. Sometimes simple, is better.
So true. A lot of my friends prefer a single lever also!
Single lever gang for the win! 😊
Thanks. This is the video I needed.
I believe the proper term for the paddle is "Thingy" or Thing-a-ma-jig" I personaly prefer duma-hickey. But seriously great video thanks for the info.
There was a point missed here, and that is, a single lever key can also have dual paddles. The paddles help with spacing between your fingers and work as a single lever key. Dual paddles on a single lever fulcrum. Common with QRQ Operators.
73 DE K6JSC
Excellent point! I'll try to do a video on that
I use a Single Paddle 73 de Peter DL1NER
I'm like you..... I need to squeeze... single lever never worked for me. Even a double lever paddle without iambic is very difficult for me
I’ve just passed my CWops beginner course last week and I think I want to move to a quality single paddle for the fundamentals course in January-in your opinion would that be an acceptable choice this early in my CW career? Great video, have a subscription 😊
I would like to think that this is only the beginning for you in your CW Journey and that you will utilize and have your single paddle for a long time, so I would urge you to look at something on the higher end. Begali might be a little too expensive? But certainly look at ur5cdx. They are beautiful and not crazy priced and work really well
Hi I would like to learn morse and saw about cwops beginner course what shall I buy and where shall I buy keyer I don't have any idea about it
Check some of my other videos... There are a couple videos on various CW keys. If you need help let me know
What brand is the single lever? As I have learned on a dual paddle, but I do not squeeze. So, I am curious about different single lever options, etc.
This is a custom RA1AOM paddle. They are hard to get nowadays. There should be some options out there for single lever fun!
Wassup homie.
I'd like a two paddle key!
Добрый день друг! Best message I received!
