I’m a big Blu ray collector and I’ve been told I can’t trade something in because it doesn’t have a traditional UK age rating despite being bought from Amazon UK yet I see American Blu rays in CEX all the time, I’ve even bought American Blu rays from CEX
Had the same issue with a local store. One guy refused to take an average looking disk due to scratches, but after a week a female employee took it no issue.
I like how he says hell let loose has a lot of the same battles as Band of Brothers, rather than a lot of the real locations of battles during WWII, like a hundred other games, shows, and films.
As a movie collector that builds my collection trading to cex when I go to my local cex & trade stuff in I avoid certain staff members because they might be more fussy with dvds for example than others, and also traded dvds in saying not to be sold separately plenty of times when they just typed in code, no different with games, think u just got a fussy one that day
Traded in a few games last week. Forza Motorsport 5 wouldn't scan and the staff member entered it as Forza Horizon 5. I did wonder why my voucher was higher than expected :)
- Can't say for sure if they will still be there when you next manage to visit, but I saw today that Cardiff St Davids CEX had Xbox Promotional covers. - Too many stories to tell of CEX Inconsitencies for me. From no barcodes, to discs being fine, but them saying its too scratched. - For my collection, I tend to skip over Online only games, I prefer single player games, or Single player games with online functionality.
With hell let loose I would play it for free on game pass, and if I love it buy the game when the servers go offline ( it will probably be 50p as unplayable) then buy it for the shelf as a relic and a reminder of good times.
Mate.... You'd be better off getting a brand new Series X from Microsoft, on their finance offer, get a brand new console, 24 month warranty, 1 month GPU, free game, for a small monthly amount. I don't trust CEX with a used game, let alone a used console. The amount of stories, facts shown online that CEX's so called ''warranty'' on consoles that end up being dud, broken.... It isn't as simple as take it in and swap it over. They check it, send it off, then it's subject to availability. Anything like a PS5, SX, PC..... used is just too much of minefield. Then use your CEX credit for games.

Barcode and region specific stuff on games at CEX drives me up the wall. I have a few US sports games for PS3 and PS4 that have US ratings on them, and I wrote an email to CEX asking them for a price on the items. They came back a week later saying they couldn't take them, because they were US items. I explained to them (even though, it being their trade, their staff probably should know this already) that from PS3 onwards, games for Sony consoles are region free, so the games would run and be playable exactly like a UK rated game. They simply refused to take them, which meant I had to sell them via eBay. I've sold most of them now, but it's just ridiculous. They sell games with broken cases, consoles covered in dirt and grime, games without original covers etc. but won't sell a game that is from America even though it works on any PS console in the UK.
I think it's got something to do with age rating as the esrb are not recognized in the UK so it's like selling it without an age rating which is illegal

They sold me an American copy of Cabella on ps3 the other week.
