I just hit my 50 book mark and I literally never read before this year 😅 Lowkey expecting it to fizzle out like all my other new hobbies but we 6 months in baby maybe this one will stick! Oh WAIT have you read The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers? It checks a lot of your boxes: mundane life, gay/gender stuff, completely loveable characters, found family, and space! It's so so good. Not super full of *plot* but felt like a warm hug.

I'm most excited for A Prayer for the Crown Shy by Becky Chambers! I think you would love the first book, A Psalm for the Wild Built, it's about a tea monk who meets a sweet robot and they go wandering through nature together, it's beautiful!
one last stop is my ultimate happy read - total comfort time for me!
thank you x 1000 for influencing me to read Braiding Sweetgrass, it’s so fantastic, I loved the essay about wild strawberries as well, another stand out to me was the one about the three sisters, I’ve underlined so much in this book and I can’t recommend it enough to those who haven’t read it yet!! 💕🌱

Finlay Donovan 1 & 2 are fun and happy! Iona Iverson’s Rules for Commuting was heartwarming. I also enjoyed the Murderbot novellas and One Last Stop!
Currently Reading It's Been a Pleasure, Noni Blake by Claire Christian and I’m really loving it. It’s about a 30-something bisexual woman teaching herself to find pleasure not only in sex but in life. Haven’t heard anyone talking about this one but I can’t wait to finish it, fun romance/self-discovery story with lots of spice throughout.
I would love it, if you did a video all about the graphic novels you've read, just gotten into them and all your book recos are great!

most anticipated release of the second half of 2022 for me goes to BABEL by R.F. Kuang and i know you loved the poppy war too!! i actually am reading an advance copy (pinch me rn) and it's SO GOOD and will be right up your alley! 1837 oxford translation scholars with elements of silver magic discussing and fighting colonialism??????

if you're gonna get more tillie walden books, i'd recommend getting "alone in space". it's a collection of her first 3 graphic novellas, and a bunch of mini-comics and sketches

My two happy books are actually graphic novels and are Mooncakes by Wendy Xu and Susanne Walker and Fangs by Sarah Andersen. Both are so cute and perfect for fall and I'm already planning on rereading both in October. These books just give me the warm fuzzy feelings.
Currently in a sad girl season (lost my cat of 16yrs) and this was so nice and fun to watch. Thanks for helping lift my mood. Will definitely be referencing back to this one for future reads also new booktubers to check out is exciting!👀

the year of magical thinking and blue nights are my personal favourite's of joan didion's - but her essays in slouching towards bethlehem and the white album are also exquisite (esp if you are interested in 1960s/1970s society/history !)

For your journey in the romance genre, and your hunt for the perfect sapphic romance, AND your request for happy books- I have to recommend Delilah Green Doesn't Care. I am similar to you in that I typically don't enjoy romance as a genre but I LOVE Delilah so much. The characters are so complete and dynamic and the story is so sweet and I was even willing to push through the fact that there was a single parent involved (something I typically don't enjoy). I really cannot recommend Delilah enough!!!! And it's pretty and purple!
I am NOT a romance girlie by any means and Delilah Green was a 5 star read for me.... so I second this! Plus we have 2 confirmed queer sequels coming up!

I just finished an Australian classic “Picnic at Hanging Rock” and “That Deadman Dance” sounds so perfect 👍 never heard of Kim Scott ❤️ Have you ever thought of getting an e-reader? It was easy to find as an ebook. You can borrow ebooks from your local library. I know e-readers are not for everybody but it can save you space and the experience is very similar to reading a physical book. Great video as always! 💛🌼

My favourite book, which never fails to make me smile (and even laugh out last) is My Family and Other Animals, Gerald Durrell. Quite wordy/descriptivy but mostly just a long lovely family and animal anecdotal time.

It's an essay collection themed around pop culture, the attention econony, late stage capitalism, feminism and womanhood. It's my favourite book and I think you'd really enjoy it. hi hello i'm new here & i love the vibes!! 🤩please look into The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater if you haven't read it yet! it's 4 books & the sequel to it, The Dreamer Trilogy, will have it's third & last installment in October. it's so good 😩😩 literally the best-written YA i've read, though the sequel doesn't really fit much with YA.. they're about teens hanging out, about longing, magic, extremely good character study, & much more!! 🪴
