Always nice learning from you. I do have one question. How do u arrive at the correct timing and spacing? I get my key poses and breakdowns but then it takes a lot of trial and error to get the spacing and timing correct. Is there something I am missing or do pros have some sort of mechanic to get it right pretty much right away? Appreciate your input.
Thank you. I think a lot of it just comes from doing it over and over. I still search and search until it feels right. But there are some general "rules" i guess, like; Faster actions take less time...Slower actions need more time...If your spacing is too far apart, it will look choppy, so adding an inbetween can help...Most actions ease-out and ease-in of each other. Personally, I tend to focus on my KEY drawings first, what drawings do I need to "Tell the Story" and to make the action clear. And as I do so, thinking: Do I want this action fast or slow?...Am i easing in or out of this drawing?...AND then I'll go in and mess with timing and add or remove drawing and frames until if feels the way I want.
@TonyGaddisToons OMG 😲!! I think exactly the same way. Its just that I have a bad tendency of taking shortcuts so I was hoping I could learn some pro tricks of cutting time and effort by using pre fabricated formulas. Guess there aren't any and I need to focus on the process and keep experimenting until I get the "feel" correct. Thank 😊 You so much ....
the lessons are getting more and more onteresting ❤
