It truly looks like Caleb williams has studied Patrick mahomes from early on, his body mannerisms in the way they play are so similar it’s uncanny. It’s not just the same play style, it’s the way it’s done, looks like a carbon copy.
I don’t think he has the cannon mahomes has, but isn’t lacking in that department.

IMHO when Williams does the 'backwards walk', he's accomplishing 2 things:
1: avoiding the rush (which is obvious of course), but also...
2: he's able to keep his eyes downfield.
I'm actually a bit surprised I don't see something like that more often, but then maybe Williams' athleticism and pocket feel are special enough that only someone like him can do it.

It’s Justin Fields stans every single breakdown of Caleb’s they trash him constantly and make shit up. For example on the 3rd and 20 comments are saying he has wide open drags to throw but doesn’t because it’s 3rd and 20 and they won’t get the 1st down but they ignore it lol.

I understand CW is great athlete, but how many open routes does he not see during your video you never mention. He holds the ball too long and misses the mesh or crossing route often. In NFL he will not have that time. The ball needs to get out of his hand faster. The NFL is not your backyard.

Also..the same crazy scrambles and holding ball too long are called "LOL" plays..but when they were from JF he shredded him for it..JT also picked the good plays in thar ND game..he left out the vast majority of plays where CW sucked...

It’s at least 15 yard gap between WR and the DB. At the bottom of the screen. Db gonna run straight to the wide out all he has to do is cut to the middle of the field. The DB was falling back which left the middle of the field open. Look how tight the db are playing the up field WR’s. WR would have blocked the DB’s for him. Even if he did get the first I bet he would have been closer. Like they say ‘take what the defense is giving you.’.

I understand it’s 3rd and 28th. If theirs no open man down field, you have to give your teammate to at less a chance. Even if it only for 5 or 6 yards. In the NFL you have to make them kind of decision. It’s keeps the defense from completely taking away the deep ball. All the greats make them plays because you’re still moving the ball.

"begging to see something that Justin doesn’t do. I didn’t see it in this video" Then look again. This video shows at least 3 things that CW does better than JF't:
1: anticipation throws (and JT even pointed it out).
2: better field vision (certainly better than JF).
      3: quicker release.
I'd add 'scrambling ability', too. Yes, JF is one of the fastest QBs in the NFL, all time (bold, but IMHO true). But CW's in-pocket scrambling and 'scramble to throw' (vs JF 'scramble to run') is better.

The scheme and coaching is exceptional. The receivers are very good as well. He has all the time in the pocket. The real question is how does a 6 foot QB who has an average arm make it in the NFL. To make things worst is he’ll be a top 3 pick. He’ll go to the Raiders and have an average career. Guys are wide open and he’s slow to get them the ball. He’ll run around and make an off platform throw. None of this nonsense happens in the SEC. He’s not Bryce Young. Bryce is a second or two ahead of him. The upside is he’s polished because of top football camps. The downside is he thinks he’s Mahomes. His mannerisms and everything he tries to emulate.

Hope he realizes 99% of those scrambles are sacks against nfl defenses otherwise his pro career isn't going to be great. If he's passing up those wife open receivers in college he's never going to think he's got open guys in the NFL. Hopefully he ends up going to a team with a stud o line and a ton of weapons or he's gonna be toast

He has time in the pocket at USC but wait until he gets to the NFL where you can't just sit back there and get through your progressions. He will get crushed if Chicago drafts him and then there's the Chicago media and fan base. Good luck kid! 🤣

Super gimmicky offense makes him a super gimmicky player. No doubt he could develop really well under Saban, Smart or Dabo, but this offense stunts his development and develops bad habits. He just misses reads and runs around until the defense breaks down. Not likely to work that well at the next level.
