I refused to use an instapot because who doesn't want to stir beans for hours..but bought one for my daughter. I made chili from scratch in 45 minutes and NO STIRRING! Lol. I'm sold and can't wait to try this. ❤
Just like my momma made them. I couldn't remember all the ingredients now she has passed away. Thank God for folks who share old recipes with new age cooking. ❤️❤️❤️😋 😋
I love this recipe. People often complain about beans being too sweet, and this recipe is well balanced with the perfect consistency. I'm actually making this recipe right now for the second time, but I substitute the ketchup for organic tomato sauce.
One trick you need to know, if you dip you measuring spoon and cup in oil before adding these ingredients, everything just slides out, no scraping to get it out
Yum. I'm making my first batch tonight using your recipe and I see you also have a recipe for Onion Soup in the IP. Baked beans and onion soup are 2 of my favourites. I only cooked my beans for 15 minutes each time because I noticed they were a bit on the soft side after the first cook. They were delish. Thanks so much
Want to enhance this recipe even more? Saute Green Pepper with the onions, which I always added to my canned bean recipe with bacon. Made it first the recipe way and was very good but adding green pepper took it over the top. Hubby agreed it was yummy having 3 bowls.
Just tried this recipe in 8Qt IP. Taste is wonderful. However, I wasn't able to cook the second half of the pressure time, the beans burned to the pot and the IP stopped. I pulled them out into a bake dish and they really would have been complete mush had they pressure cooked another 35 minutes PLUS 20 min natural release. Again, happy with taste and can pull this together much quicker without the other 55 minutes of cook time. Thanks.
Terrific looking recipe. I have mixed everything up in a Dutch oven and baked until done (watching the water) and have been really pleased. About the only change I'll make to this recipe is to convert all those measuring units to grams and just weight the ingredients. I'm lazy and really don't want to have to wash all those measuring items. Thanks for the recipe.
nice tip. never thought of it like that. I make chocolate chip cookies for work and its a pain taking out all measuring devices washing them put them away....yeah just weigh it in one bowl....
and to say my mom said NO to that gadget...I still have mine...Think I'll make some before heading over at her place for christmas eve^^...Bet you my flat mate will eat some if I DARE make this recipe^^
Not to sound like a jerk. And coming from a Mexican family. We never soaks beans. Unless you want to do extra work And we eat a lots of them. Thanks for sharing.
This is a hit with friends and famliy, i also add Tarczynski Geesowska Polish Sausage, with or without bacon, all depends what i have in the freezer, ive also added diced apple and chunks of pineapple.. we sit out with the firepit on ,each with a mug of beans and all you can hear is yum, plus dipping your bbq meat in them goes well :)
Really lovely recipe! Old fashioned but modern in a instant pot! I love my stove top pressure cookers but I love the for electric pressure cookers I have now! So much easier!
@@2roosterfarm577 To let you know that I did make these! A few times since I posted! Delicious! Tonight they are on the menu but I added smoked pork necks and it turned out fantastic.
How many servings would you say this makes? I am looking to make some that would serve at least 25 so wondering how much to increase this recipe by. Thank you.
I I tried to make the bean but when I put the beans and liquid and molasses mixture the pot said burn I cleaned it once there was nothing sticking on the pot and it said burn again.what did I do wrong. I just cooked the bean in my oven.
The burn message usually comes up when there are burned bits on the bottom so I’m not sure the reason. Maybe a faulty instant pot. I had to return one because of that as well.
I was having burn message after burn message. I thought I was doing everything right. Turns out for me my I.P. was leaking steam from the valve that wasn’t seated correctly. Once I fixed that it worked fine. Before that I was getting Burn message on everything. After fixing it I tried cooking rice and it was fine. Also any dishes after that.
I made the recipe again but I violated the “scientific method” by changing 2 variables. First, I soaked the beans overnight and second, I doubled the recipe. The IP’s “burn” warning appeared. I’m finishing the cooking in a slow cooker. Now I know, I need to make 2 separate batches. Lesson learned.
If you wanted to make beanie weenies with this recipe, would you just add in a pack of hot dogs? Or would there be some other things to take into consideration?
Where's the cornbread? Just spray your measuring cup and measuring spoon with Pam instead of oil. Works just the same. The beans look yummy. I'm going to make these.
Sounds great but, I don't have maple syrup or apple cider vinegar. Oh, and I am diabetic. 😐 Might go pick up the 2 items from the store and watch my husband inhale this treat.

@@2roosterfarm577 I truly did. And I didn't mean to come across as condescending. I just thought if you were going to be an information source on the subject that you might want to get the name right. These no way to say this in a comment without sounding nit picking, so I apologize for that.

Looks like top notch bbq beans.

Depending on the elevation of where you live, cooking time will vary quite a bit. The higher your elevation, the less cooking time you will need.

Happy Canada Day!!
@@2roosterfarm577 I’m making this for our 4th of July picnic.
I just found your recipe and the ingredients sound great. I will make this soon!
I love this recipe. I hope you do too!
I've been craving baked beans lately. I'll try this recipe.
You won’t be disappointed.
This was very good! Loved it!

Thanks for your comment. Soaking the beans makes them cook more evenly and makes them easier to digest. But you can skip that step if you want.
I made this with diced left over ham and it was pretty damn good. Definitely will make again
I am interested in this recipe. My husband loves Molasses. Both of us love baked beans.
You are so cosy ☺
This is delicious. What if I wanted more liquid? I don’t think I have enough to be able to reheat.
The liquid is always going to soak up into the beans. I didn’t mind the consistency.
Maybe reserve the bean cooking water and add a bit.
Je crois bien que je vais essayer votre recette demain merci j'ai un ip de 6 pintes sa devrais être ok

I love the new electric instant pot. So easy and less scary. Lol.

Try this for family on the fourth 🇺🇸
thanks
Looks yummy. I’m wondering can you use pinto beans instead and will it still have a great flavor? Subscribed! Thank you 😊
I haven’t tried pinto beans. If u do, let me know how it tastes thx for subscribing
I’m in the last 10 min before the final reveal, the kitchen smells amazing!
Glad you tried my recipe. Enjoy!!
Ya pressure cookers are hard to find these days ever sence what happened in Boston.
How many servings would you say this makes? I am looking to make some that would serve at least 25 so wondering how much to increase this recipe by. Thank you.
I would say it feeds 5-6 people.
@@2roosterfarm577 Thank you so much.
I have a question can I mix everything together and then take it to a friends house later in the day and start my instant pot there for dinner
I’m sure that will be fine
New Hello ✋
Can you make this in slow cooker
I used to make it that way before I got my instant pot. Will take longer to cook.
How are these not total mush? Just cooking my beans on high pressure for 15 minutes make them quite soft and have lost their bite.
Can you make this recipe in a stovetop pressure cooker?
I’ve never done it on a stovetop pressure cooker. I suppose it could work. Let me know how it turns out.
Did you soak the beanscand for how long?
Sometimes I do, but most of the time I don’t. I just rinse them and pick out the bad ones.
I I tried to make the bean but when I put the beans and liquid and molasses mixture the pot said burn I cleaned it once there was nothing sticking on the pot and it said burn again.what did I do wrong. I just cooked the bean in my oven.

Have you tried doubling the recipe in the instant pot at once?
I haven’t. But as long as you don’t overfill the Instant Pot it should be fine.
I’ve never tried that but I’m sure that would work. I’ve started to add green pepper to the recipe and love it more.
@@2roosterfarm577 We are planning to purchase one this weekend. Thanks for the helpful video!

Please further your Pam research
Is itva tomato or maple beans?
Either or. I use maple
Sounds great but, I don't have maple syrup or apple cider vinegar. Oh, and I am diabetic. 😐
Might go pick up the 2 items from the store and watch my husband inhale this treat.
He’ll love it.
Made the beans in the instant pot took almost 2hrs to cook. I think I should of soaked the beans overnight first.
Too much sugar for my taste but I do like the Instant pot guidelines. Thanks!
Thank you 🙏 much appreciated
Who are you guys?
It might be good iir you added a ham bone or ham hocks to the pot.
Seems like an awful long cook time 2nd time round. 🤔 Everything is already cooked!
Why are you using water? It has no flavor. Use Chicken or :Pork Stock instead.
Instant pot, not insta pot. It's in the title even 😂
Are you the instant pot police? 😂 Hope you enjoyed the recipe anyways.

Now I’m homesick. I live in the UK where the beans are disgusting tomato based flavorless crap. Using a ninja instead
