Wait the pats are bad now ding dong the witch is dead
What's ur opinion on how good Mac would be right now if the niners had drafted him?
*_Yessss,_* been wanting you to take a look like this into the Stillers.
Matt Canada vs Matt Patricia.
Whose worse?
Will you be doing a caleb Williams film breakdown
He's tricking us with the Patriots thumbnail, we all know it's the Steelers under Matt Canada
Just wait til the next episode 😂
he's up next
@@BrettKollmann😈
Nope, Josh McDaniels holding back Adams, Renfrow, Jacobs etc
You know it's bad when the quarterback calls plays and it works and then the offensive coordinator looks like someone just pissed in his cereal
As a Bears fan, I am very happy that our offense is finally just average enough to not be considered the worst every single year
Bears offense is sneaky good tbh.
defintelyn ot close to the worst
Bears defense is the problem. When Justin is in the zone, he's an MVP, when he's not, he's Nathan Peterman.
@@kimyona9746Ryan Fitzpatrick with an elite ceiling
@@waldothewalrus294 that comparison is right on the money 💀
As an English football fan, this reminds me a lot of the end of Arsene Wenger's reign at Arsenal - one person who controls everything but has massive blindspots and maybe hasn't adapted to the way the modern game operates. The man in charge is such an institutional figure that it seems wrong to fire them, and they've got too much pride to quit while they're not too far behind.
That's... a pretty good comparison, actually
In American football it was like this with Landry later tenure. He was a good coach during most of his time, but the game has passed him by.
Cool to see you here
That's a very good comparison...I remember the end of the Wenger era...it was sad the way it deteriorated for him
But I guess the one key difference between Wenger's final days and Belichick's present situation is that Wenger was really hamstrung by lack of money available to him, as IIRC a lot of Arsenal's income was allocated to building a new stadium, so Wenger couldn't compete in the market for players that he liked. Meanwhile, Belichick has control over roster building, and it still hasn't worked out very well for him
In Mac's last start, he had a passer rating of 30.5, which is worse than if he did nothing but spike the ball into the ground on every single play.
that's quite the accomplishment. is it a record?
Nah there's guys who have got a passing rate of 0
So happy for Bill O'BRIAN and his complete lack of success. Couldn't happen to a better person.
Bill O'Brien is a hack.@@scottgreen2042
Bill Belichick, Matt Patricia, Bill O’Brien, Joe Judge, and Josh McDaniels are all the same. One coach had Tom Brady so his win total is different. The Patriot Way exists in failure 100%.
As a Pats fan, I needed this deep dive to try and make sense of it all.
What I got from it is that Mac Jones doesn't trust Vederian Lowe at all. He threw the Jets ball off his back foot because he didn't want to take a hit from Lowe's rusher. When he saw Parsons get washed down by Lowe he scrambled to the vacated edge, even though there was no one open on that side.
Calvin Anderson might be the best option on the roster but he needs to get healthy
@@danielwaters191 I have to agree. Once you lose trust in your teammates it's only going downhill from there. Very hard to turn it around especially in the middle of the season.
Did they reintroduce a Fullback into the offense?
Hey man, our team has dominated for 2 decades straight, we all knew it would eventually come to this. Just remember the great times and the absolute dominance that no other team will ever get to experience. They will rebuild again someday, but just be happy that you got to experience 6 super bowls and Tom Brady. They are the only team since 2000 that hasn’t suffered an abysmal season…it’s our turn. We’ll be back someday. No one can take the banners away. Just be patient.
Those are beta excuses. They could at least make sure the o line is good . Even if the qb is bad and no wrs. The reason for this happening is offensive coaching and roster building. Don't think Mac Jones is that bad, just got a fear of getting wrecked non stop
Congratulations Patriots fans for your Super Bowl win. Thanks Brett!
yeah superbowl win on madden. Brett shall be thanked.
Brady can’t hurt you anymore
No the actual Kollman curse is they finish with the top pick and they get Caleb Williams. I dread the thought.
@@odcoordinator1780 That would be dreadful. Especially if it were all part of Evil Emperor Belichick's masterplan to let the team get so terrible that they are a shoo in for the #1 pick and next "can't miss" QB Caleb Williams. I shudder to think of 2 more decades of the Patriots dominating the NFL. Of course that's unrealistic. No coach/GM would intentionally be so bad at their job that they secure the #1 pick at the risk of losing their fanbase, locker room, and even their job.
@@odcoordinator1780 if the pats do get the first pick of the draft we'll probably select a db or an ol because why not. If we do select Williams then the rest of the picks will be not skill position players to help him in the passing game.
The biggest takeaway I had from Mac’s rookie season was his composure in the pocket and under pressure. It feels like with the deterioration of the OL and lack of weapons, he’s become extremely gun-shy. Hopefully he isn’t full-on ruined like David Carr.
Can’t thank you enough for this as a Patriots fan. They’re gonna put up 30 against the raiders on Sunday now. Kollmann curse for the win.
I would bet my house that we don't score 20.
Yes but it'll be 4 pick sixes against Jimmy G and a Safety
This offense is offensive.
Wouldn’t say 30, but they will win
@@marxman6896You would be correct
Just be happy that pats will get the #1 pick next year trust the process 😂
We tell ourselves that we want Brett to highlight great play, great players, and great teams; but we all know these are the videos we click on fastest.
Brady; I'll sign team-friendly contracts if you surround me with talent.
Bill; Cool.
2023; You ought notta lied, Bill.
Bill shouldn't be fired as coach. But he needs to either step down or be relieved of his GM role. I personally think that doing that could save them from folding altogether.
Will happen after the season.
Not going to happen. It's all or nothing - lose the GM and you lose the coach too. And as BB has been _de facto_ GM since 2001 anyway, ditching the greatest coach ever for the sake of a title change that will achieve nothing is an idea only football fans and children are dumb enough to support.
@@cisium1184 BB has been defacto GM but its not like he wasn't down to work with FO/scouting guys to have a better profile of talents that would be available and can play in the system. Which is why guys like Scott Pioli/Nick Caserio/Monti Ossenfort moved on to take bigger roles in other franchises to prove their eye for talent and build a team on their terms.
I think If Belichick gets fired then the patriots should get a new Head Coach like Jim Harbaugh. Then get an actual General Manager
As a patriots fan this breaks my heart, after 2021 i feel like we shower a great deal of promise for the future. But last year shit just got off the rails. The struggles with patricia really derailed macs development and now we're to the point of no return. Outside of rhamondre stevenson and practically the entire defense, we need to start brand new with new faces and new attitudes.
That means you are among those "in Bill we believe" people.
You got what you deserve.
@@williamli6200 i dont believe in bill, its about time he retires. Hes had a great career but his coaching style if far too outdated for the league. We need to change the culture in NE
@@julianreid6030 The culture is *high QUALITY plays from QB with a CHEAP squad.*

Agree. A total rebuild is needed. Patriots have the worst receiving corps in NFL, along with the Giants and maybe Colts. Panthers have Thelin at least. Their OL is sub average, with no depth. Agree Mac is not the answer though. Bill is still good at X's and O's, but you are right he should not be the GM.
The good news is rebuilds don't need to take 10 years like they did back in the 1990s. Some teams have really turned things around in 2-3 seasons. New England could do the same. But they need a LOT of change, and a LOT of work.
Posting this on Friday the 13th is a real choice Brett 😂
gotta fight evil with evil
The thing is, you ask a lot when the man has to run for his life to extend plays to trust his O-line in the few situations it holds up.
He does throw WAY too often across the field and teams take advantage of it
Imagine watching Mac Jones shine w/ elite weaponry at Alabama, just to fail to put anything around him that resembled what he looked like at his absolute best.
Thank you so much for the reverse Kollmann curse hugeee win verse the bills 1 week later
Appreciate the two decades of Brady, doing it with no namers
Seahawks: Hold my beer...
Geno: I'ma throw 2 picks, go 0 for 7 in the red zone, and take an eternity to go through my reads while my makeshift offensive line snaps and cracks under pressure.
Really love how you did this video. Would love to see you breakdown some Panthers offensive film.
Always a good day when Brett uploads.
Who is this Brett who uploads during daylight hours 🤔
As a dolphins fan, this is glorious…. I hope they keep these guys forever
You nailed it at the end. It is a confluence of problems making each other worse. However, literally the easiest fix is replacing Jones, because you can find a better (maybe not very good but better) quarterback-easily-than find multiple O-Linemen that can stay healthy or multiple receivers. But with the loss of their two best defensive players, the season is over with, so they might as well try something.
Do you mean finding a better quarterback in the draft, or right now? Draft-wise, what quarterback *after the first round* is better than Jones? And if right now, who's better that they can get?
Also, "not very good but better" moves you from 6-11 to 8-9, maybe. Which...does *what* for you, exactly?
Aside from that fans are irrelevant to team success, I'm genuinely curious as to a bit more detail in your thoughts, because...I think it's interesting! What *would* you do as the GM?
@@Eidenhoek At this point any vet is better than Jones. The hang up with Jones is that his confidence is so shot up that he doesn't trust the team will put him a good position to do his job on the field. Its sorta like the Jets with Wilson. The moment Rodgers is healthy and comes back, Wilson is just an afterthought.
Who could they trade for and/or who could they draft past the first round (since I don't want to speculate on draft position, so I will assume they *don't* get a high-prospect QB), that would *make this team into a division contender*? How is...Iunno, Kyler Murray, going to make this offense consistently good? If there are poor weapons and a poor scheme, there's not really a *point* to improving at quarterback when the outcome is the same as now, but a worst draft.@@t4d0W
I looked it up because I was curious. The Patriots are one of only 5 teams since the founding of the AFL to score 3 or fewer points combined and lose by at least 34 in back-to-back games-only the 1960 Bears, 1961 Raiders, 1978 Colts, and 1987 Falcons did that, and they all finished their seasons near the bottom of the league. I'm so glad it's finally over.
Holy crap lol
Thanks for the tips Kollmann, they really helped
Bill bellicheck Basically punish the offense by getting rid of the 1 WR that got separation & was the QBs favorite weapon & who he could actually rely on in jakoby Myers
Bill got rid of him cus he talked back On top of that Mac Jones has never been a strong QB his greatest strength was being smart which we all know that isn't the case right now
As a patriots fan. This is mostly on Belichick. He doesn’t re-sign Jacobi Meyers, who was Mac’s safety target. Doesn’t go and get a Tackle like Orlando Brown, and gives Mac 3 OC’s in 3 seasons.
As a Liberty fan, Demario Douglas is a dawg in my opinion. Like a discount Zay Flowers with how shifty he is, great steal for the Pats in the 6th round (I believe)!
Tom Brady covered Bill's ass for years. That guy's a good coach, but a *terrible* GM, especially when it comes to offensive skill position players. Randy Moss was his only hit in a decade, and Tom still got them 6 super bowls.
Brandin Cooks was a hit too but Brady didn't begin believing in Brandin Cooks until the texans game in 2017. Belichick needs to understand that he will never find himself a quarterback like Brady again who can cook with average receivers. Belichick as the GM was never in question when Brady was still there. Hilarious how it is now.
Brady covered up Bill on offense for sure. Still, even now, Bill is a top defensive mind. He needs an OC who will throw something different at the board because O’Brien and Patricia both sucked.
Huh I wonder if that 12 fella made this all work
I find the narrative around the Patriots and the Seahawks to be really interesting. On one hand, Belichick seems to be really struggling after losing Brady, implying it was Brady that was the real driving force. On the other hand, Wilson seems to be struggling without Carrol, implying it was Pete who was in the right.
Just goes to show that sometimes its the coach, sometimes its the QB. And in the case of Jones and Belichick, sometimes its both.
I mean Brady was the offense for the Pats despite how 'low' the quality of talent on the offense got. 2019 was the lowest bar for him and I can see why Brady would want to leave to a more stacked roster. As for Wilson he's getting older, he's getting slower and he really pass at the middle of the field. Carroll knew his value but the Broncos thought he's worth 296 million for 7 years (along with a bunch of draft picks no less). To credit Caroll he had a great rebound with those picks to help replenish the talent drain but also had a veteran QB who makes sense with the stuff his modern play caller in Waldron (from McVay's group) could run.
“It’s a long show, and not a happy one”
I don’t know what you’re talking about man, literally everyone besides Patriots fans are loving this
The Patriots are so bad right now it's gonna take more than one season to fix.
OC Bill O’Brien lost his offensive charms as head coach with the Texans and Bill Belichick hoped he would re-energize Mac Jones.
it feels like all the diffrent parts of the offense are all slightly worse than they need to be which would be manageable on tis own and there is also no part of the offense to acutally bail them out.
I am not convinced if you trade Purdy for Mac Jones the situation changes in big way for either organisation.
and maybe Belichick needs to learn that a normal QB neeeds a bit more assets than the GOAT and he needs to build an elite defense with less capspace than he is used to.
The bad Special teams also tell a really bad story about the overall quality of the roster.
I think Bill and Sean are both competing for Caleb Williams tbh
As a Steelers fan, when you said the Patriots have one of the worst offenses, I was like: "Have you seen the Steelers yet?" Then you mention they will be the next video, so I wasn't disappointed 😂
Scene: it's 2043 in a downtown Atlanta law firm, people there can't believe that ole Mr. Mac used to be an NFL quarterback once. Seems like he was born in the boardroom.
I'm so ready for this after watching them every week
Mike Gesicki going from the Dolphins to the Patriots in free agency lol.
as a pats fan im so happy u made this. so many pats fans cannot understand that its kinda everyone's fault. i feel like week in week out pats twitter has to blame only ONE person, mac or bill or the WRs or the OL and its so frustrating bc its legit all, mac lost his confidence he had, he lost his weapons. he lost his Oline, and most importantly he lost a OC who put him in the best spots with players put in spots to help him. i think the game has started to pass bill and while ill forever love him as the best coach of all time he's clearly a D coach and nothing more. hopefully the rebuild isn't TOOOO long
IMO the rebuild can be as long depending on how quick BB gets himself the franchise QB of the future. So far its been the case for other recent franchises who made dramatic and quick turn arounds. Bengals were absolutely bunglin' until they got Burrow and managed to get Higgins. Then Chase landed to them the year after. Jags def look different with an offense ran by Trevor Lawrence. Hell CJ Stroud is also giving the Texans offense a new look with headroom to be better. Hell its hard to catchup to the playoffs in the AFC East when they have Josh Alien and Tua and the Turbo Fins.
As a Steelers fan, please tear us a new one, Matt Canada needed to be fired last year. There is no excuse for not only how bad our offense is, but no excuse for him to be mad when Kenny called his own play to win the game. Dude is actively upset that his plays aren’t working and that the only success the team has is when they disobey his orders.
As a pats fan, I think every single offensive starter needs to be replaced
You'll still be left with O'Brien, so unless you have a Brady lined up, expect more of the same.
note about Demario Douglas:
Out with concussion. Makes Pats have negative playmakers. as a pats fan we should honestly re-hire Cam Newton
Great job breaking down the O-line play. I would love a deeper dive on the offensive coaching/play calling. I often feel like its a big part of the problem when teams sputter this hard. If the offense is poorly coached, and poorly drafted/managed, then change does need to start from the top down.
I think Belichek is used to getting players cheap because they were willing to play for less on a Superbowl contender team. Now he’s just being stubborn and cheap and its hurting the team.
Dan Orlovsky will say that Purdy is at the same level
Casual Jags fan here, and that pick at 12:35... that was pure rookie Bortles execution. Awkward rollout, telegraphed duck to a bad 1-on-1 matchup with the corner waiting to just grab some takeout and go. Now, under Gus Bradley, this was actually *schemed*, but yeah. Not exactly a comparison that gives you a lot of hope for things turning around for Mac.
Seahawks offence: 😄
Seahawks offence in the redZone: 💀
Brett we really all want to know, WHAT and HOW did the Patriots ship sink this badly? Yes, We know Brady was the entire offense and basically the patriot way, but WHAT happened in the coaching and staffing department? How did that fail so badly. Was Bill's complete focus on how to continue to build a Dynasty made him forget to check up on the staff and keep that a well lubricated machine as it always has been? (minus not listening to his scouts of course for the many amazing players the pats could have gotten) but what happened Bill? This is on you.
Now I know what all the rest of the NFL felt like during the 2001-2019 seasons.....the disgust! It won't wash off!
The real question is "Is Bill Bellichick playing 6D chess for Caleb Williams?"
I’m just terrified of when the pats have a top 5 pick that we once again won’t do anything with it, Brett I’m scared
As a Patriots fan, I'm putting most of this blame towards Bill O'Brien. You'd expect this offense to be better than last year considering the success O'Brien had with Jones in college, but it is far from that. Mac Jones found so much success in college and in his rookie year when he is right next to the center running RPO's and play actions, and he's done none of that. Almost every pass play the Patriots run is either some shotgun variation or a screen pass. I know that the receiving talent isn't anything special, but even in the Tom Brady era we didn't have crazy weapons from top to bottom other than Randy Moss, Gronk and Edelman to some extent. I think it's time for this team to hit the reset button on this team rather than try to compete with this horrible offense.
Oh god, as a Steelers fan I hate how tough the next vid is going to be to watch. Shall I bring the pitchforks and "Fire Canada" signs for my fellow yinzers?
That pick he threw to the cowboys is me drunk asf playing madden😭😭😂😂😂 but jokes aside he just looks like he didnt trust his oline at ALL
Before completing this video I’ll say this about Mac. He will not step up in the pocket if it saved him 4 sacks a game, he loves his absurdly deep drops giving the tackles (who suck) no chance.
Friday, just finished with my work, open up my third beer, and I see this video on my feed, thank god I was prepared
Don’t expect Mac to be great without a great supporting cast.
Don’t expect receivers to get better if the QB isn’t as good as they need him to be.
Don’t expect Bill to …actually yeah. He should just retire.
Pretty sure the pats office watched this
I've seen more than enough. The Pats offense also has the worst vibes in the NFL. Opposing defenses practically loading up boxes and playing a high rate cover 1 on Mac and knowing he can't make them switch out.
I feel that Mac is throwing under the bus here.
From the talent pool to the coaching staff he is simply betrayed by BB.
all fellow AFC east fans got to watch an absolutely beautiful video today :)
The Pats took N'Keal Harry over Deebo, AJ Brown, and DK Metcalf. Yikes!
The biggest liars this off season where all those analysts and fans saying the cards were tanking and would be historically bad. Would be nice to see a video on them to show how much better they are than people thought they would be
we need a tush push ep
As a panthers fan, I see this as an absolute win
"It ain't over until I say it's fucking over, Jack. Belichick Blast!"
I wasn’t gonna drink but as a patriots fan I needed some whiskey to get through this video.
Without Tom Brady and Bellicheck duo they went from best ever to a joke
Remember when they played the Bills and it was kind of windy so Mac Jones wasn't allowed to pass a single time, but the Pats ended up winning?
Their additions in the off-season made no sense. Juju is a clutch player known for making those tough third down conversions or making the big block. Zeke’s best days are behind him but you could see him stepping into a shared role and lend some experience to the younger backs. Davante Parker is a solid addition to any team but I wouldn’t really consider him a WR-1. These are something you’d want in an already dominant offense with Tom Brady. Not one where THEY’RE supposed to be the big major talents on the team.
Mac Jones at 13:00 looked like me playing Madden
Week 14 vs Steelers could be the worst product we’ve ever seen on an nfl field
Playcalling has also been horrible, with an offense built for mid 2000's. No motion, barely and creative playaction, no creativity in the run game. It's build for a confident qb like Brady that has good playmakers.
if anything just look at his footwork. poor kid looks like he's the backup in high school and just got thrown in the game down 7
"Hold my beer..." -the NY Giants.
When you’re assessing a young QB, the worst is realizing that he doesn’t make decisions quickly enough or that he doesn’t see the field well. Those things are generally unfixable. Jones seem to have both characteristics.
...sad? SAD??? SSSAAADDD???? Bro, this is cathartic
The problem with this analysis is that four weeks ago everyone, including you, was saying something different about them. They were going to be better, they were going to be dangerous. Why should we believe you now?
Because now we have actual games to analyze and break down. Over summer, based on past results from Mac, O’Brien, the OL, etc, we can only estimate what we *think* we are going to see.
But now after seeing them actually play, they are falling short of our hopeful expectations. And this video is explaining why that is.
Really good episode, but one thing is why is dome of the in-game footage looking blown out? Is that just source?
Mac is completely broken. He's seeing ghosts because its a coin flip as to whether or not he's going to get clobbered on any given dropback. Literally, he was being pressured at like a 50% rate. You're asking him to trust people he doesn't and shouldn't trust. A bad team and bad coaches made him a bad quarterback.
You nailed it right on the head. This is 100% about trust. I don’t think Mac trusts his offensive line. I don’t think the offensive line trusts each other. I don’t think the WR room is confident enough in receiving a catchable ball. And ultimately the coaching staff and the players do not trust each other
From everything we've seen from Mac Jones, he's an asshole and a racist - and it's really hard to get a cohesive NFL team if the center piece of the offense is even only one of those things.
This did not age well at all.
sure?
I was fast forwarding through the ad read, but then i thought, it’s the least i could do for Brett, so i rewinded and watched it for my dawg.
I appreciate you lol
Patriots will cover the +3 vs the Raiders this week. Week 6 (10/15/23)
Thought he was going to talk about 2022 Broncos. He can still do a “This is the worse defense in the NFL” for 2023 Broncos though
Hey, they didn't play horrible against the Chiefs last night? Or is it just the full inverse of last year, where the unit people expected to be good is terrible and only shows up to play against KC?
@@lydiavalentino I mean the Chiefs passing game wasn't on the ball either and are struggling with receiver production outside of Kelce. Plus in weeks before that, it was a combination of a strong run game with a solid pass game that has punched the Broncos defense in the mouth. People were thinking Pacheco would run wild vs the Broncos run defense but he didn't do so as much.
Unless we get the #1 pick, I feel like you really have to keep Jones for at least another year. This offense just has too many problems for me to feel good about starting ANOTHER young QB, you risk killing his career. Until OL and WR are addressed you'll be asking your QB to carry the team on his back and that's a LOT to expect from a rookie
I think there are other veterans available who can serve as bridge QBs. Unless somehow the relationship is somehow mended, Mac not trusting the staff does not bode well for both parties. Hell if the Pats can somehow get Davis Mills or Josh Dobbs for a year or 2, I think things can run as smooth with as low of a ceiling for the offense to perform.
If Brady did not leave the Pats and won a SB with the Bucs, no one would have known how bad Belichick is as a GM and H.C.
BB is a bargain hunter GM. Brady held the franchise together. They tried trading Gronk. Brady’s only elite target. Brady had been upset with BB for years for taking team friendly deals and Bill refusing to get elite players. He’s the greatest coach of all time. But his whiffs on offensive talent and stingy GM decisions have been downright criminal. The Pats need an actual GM and Belichick should only have input on the defensive side of the ball.
I think Rhamondre is a strong player but isn’t good enough to overcome the disaster around him. New England has been bad at the skill positions for a long while, it’s why Brady left and things have only gotten worse.
I think Bill is the only man in football who thinks DeVante Parker can still play.
He isn't even a big issue
@@jumpsurfer sounds like you should look at advanced stats and game tape
Bill won all those titles by himself going threw metapause.
The Broncos say hold me beer with that statement!
Hey everyone, it's actually happening. In the year of our lord 2023, the Patriots are BAD. Not "stout Belichick defense somehow drags the withered remains of Cam Newton's throwing shoulder to 7 wins" bad, but so bad that I would've never guessed I'd see it while Belichick is still the coach. He had Patricia and Judge handle the offense last year (if I remember correctly) and that stunk, and somehow they hire BOB as the new OC and the offense gets WORSE??? Just what the heck. The seemingly sinful question now begins to pop up: is Belichicks time over? It's just wild. They got murdered by my Saints, and we're definitely not a juggernaut either lol. I think one of three things is gonna happen: either the Pats stay as bad as they are, where I'd say if that happens it'd be kind of forcing Krafts hand, and Bill's getting axed after the season. Or maybe they find some sort of Baseline where they aren't this horrible anymore, and Bill, voluntarily or involuntarily, loses his GM job and they do SOMETHING about that offense. Or maybe they just finish super lackluster and they give Bill an ultimatum in the way of "either you resign to save face or we're firing you". Yes Bill has done great things for this franchise and certainly there's more leeway than with most other coaches if not all, but Kraft is also an owner who was used to his team being a juggernaut for 20 years, and I highly doubt what they're showing now will be enough to save even Bill Belichicks job. Anyways, insane times we live in!
Bro, you didn't have to do us dirty like that
Normally I would feel bad for the QB that got destroyed by a team but Mac has been such a dirty player it just seems like karma.
the thumbnail cracked me up lmao
