I saw Animals As Leaders in Sydney one time - playing support for Between the Buried & Me. when Animals as Leaders finished a breath-taking set, most of the crowd filtered out.... and we left too. Nobody comes on stage after those guys and feels adequate!! :)

Yes, cheers for this Hedgy! AAL is indeed an awesome band. They also have a awesome new(well not so new now) drummer Matt Garstka who replaced Navene. (the drummer in this vid who is awesome too). Hopefully you'll get to check out some of their live songs with all 3 although finding single songs can be hard. I'd suggest some of their videos from Guitar Center TH-cam.
Alternatively their Dunlop sessions on TH-cam which thankfully has timestamps so you can chose specific songs. Just YT search them and you should be sweet.
CAFO is from their first album and IMO has a more raw sound to it both in production and song writing. You can watch some Tosin (founder/main guitarist) centric vids on EMG TV but as you made a great point on your Devy -Kingdom reaction, the whole band needs to be credited and watched.
Two reasons why fadeout is perfect ending:
- CAFO continues as we read these comments (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concentrated_animal_feeding_operation)... monstrous act on animals.
- texhnical showcase of been able to keep going...

I'd recommend The Woven Web, Nephele, Kascade, Tooth and Claw, and The Brain Dance by them. Absolute masterpieces. Better audio quality too.

I have a new found sympathy for the girlfriends and room mates that i used to drive nuts practicing my scales.
I've been learning some tracks from the contortionist's exoplanet album, and the opening riff to Flourish has been driving my gf crazy for the past week haha. Those intro harmonics are too good not to practice incessantly.

if you like bands that met at music school but are also great for their feel, check out Son of Aurelius, and Fall of the Albatross. Son of Aurelius' albums are polar opposite, the first being very heavy and the second being jazz rock. Fall of The Albatross's albums go from having a vocalist to none at all. Both bands are amazing though.

This is also a pretty old song. The band was much more cohesive on their other albums. I don't know much about the rhythm guitarist (Javier Reyes), but he laid down some groove on "The Brain Dance." The drummer is an animal as well.

What's up with the world today? Someone makes a legitimate comment of even marginal criticality and someone assumes it's trolling? Assuming you are referencing my comment as "trolling", I took the time after making it to research the album. Turns out IT IS A SOLO EFFORT by Tosin Abasi. He recorded all instruments on the album and what he did not record was manufactured on a computer by the producer. So my comment stands as a valid observation.

You should never stop a music in the middle, whilst listening to it. It breaks all the flow and buildups...
Talking bout music is like dancing bout architecture.
The fadeout is a point you get, but honestly: its not a fade out,
its just the point, where the song needs to start again.
I hope not to watch one of this 'reaction to ...'-videos again. Its catchy, but not interesting that much. Sorry.
