I saw Animals As Leaders in Sydney one time - playing support for Between the Buried & Me. when Animals as Leaders finished a breath-taking set, most of the crowd filtered out.... and we left too. Nobody comes on stage after those guys and feels adequate!! :)
Totally enjoyed your analogy of one of my favorite songs EVER! Brought me such emotion when you really dove into the emotional ocean that they lay out for you in the driving melodies and progressions. I can see that you were floating in the currents that flow through your soul.
hahahahaha it's my favorite band after all :v their music have a great balance of technique and feeling,oh! and there are only 3 members, 2 eight strings guitar players and a drummer... well, you can react to Quiescent by The Fine Constant, a cool instrumental song too
Fantastic band. Nice calm serenity pieces balanced perfectly with their harder, more intricate poly-timed songs. Always a treasure to kick back and put on some AaL 🤘🏾
Two reasons why fadeout is perfect ending: - CAFO continues as we read these comments (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concentrated_animal_feeding_operation)... monstrous act on animals. - texhnical showcase of been able to keep going...
Yo man I can really appreciate what you said about technical music sometimes being right on the cusp of being entertaining. If you liked this you should definitely react to Hos Down by Jason Richardson and Luke Holland. It's pretty technical and very entertaining.
Yes, cheers for this Hedgy! AAL is indeed an awesome band. They also have a awesome new(well not so new now) drummer Matt Garstka who replaced Navene. (the drummer in this vid who is awesome too). Hopefully you'll get to check out some of their live songs with all 3 although finding single songs can be hard. I'd suggest some of their videos from Guitar Center TH-cam. Alternatively their Dunlop sessions on TH-cam which thankfully has timestamps so you can chose specific songs. Just YT search them and you should be sweet. CAFO is from their first album and IMO has a more raw sound to it both in production and song writing. You can watch some Tosin (founder/main guitarist) centric vids on EMG TV but as you made a great point on your Devy -Kingdom reaction, the whole band needs to be credited and watched.
I've been learning some tracks from the contortionist's exoplanet album, and the opening riff to Flourish has been driving my gf crazy for the past week haha. Those intro harmonics are too good not to practice incessantly.
if you like bands that met at music school but are also great for their feel, check out Son of Aurelius, and Fall of the Albatross. Son of Aurelius' albums are polar opposite, the first being very heavy and the second being jazz rock. Fall of The Albatross's albums go from having a vocalist to none at all. Both bands are amazing though.
You should try listening to some Tool songs, like: Lateralus, 46&2, Sober, Jambi, The Pot, you choose which name is more interesting for you to listen to ahahaha
I get the impression it's more of a solo effort by a technically brilliant guitarist. Id' really like to see what he could do if surrounded by equal musicians.
This is also a pretty old song. The band was much more cohesive on their other albums. I don't know much about the rhythm guitarist (Javier Reyes), but he laid down some groove on "The Brain Dance." The drummer is an animal as well.
What's up with the world today? Someone makes a legitimate comment of even marginal criticality and someone assumes it's trolling? Assuming you are referencing my comment as "trolling", I took the time after making it to research the album. Turns out IT IS A SOLO EFFORT by Tosin Abasi. He recorded all instruments on the album and what he did not record was manufactured on a computer by the producer. So my comment stands as a valid observation. If your comment was not in response to my initial comment, my apologies.
SeriouslY injure. I'm 90% sure you will love them. If I comment enough you'll do it right? lol Jinjer - Pieces th-cam.com/video/SQNtGoM3FVU/w-d-xo.html Jinjer - I Speak Astronomy th-cam.com/video/KJoPIgg17U4/w-d-xo.html
Talking bout music is like dancing bout architecture. The fadeout is a point you get, but honestly: its not a fade out, its just the point, where the song needs to start again. I hope not to watch one of this 'reaction to ...'-videos again. Its catchy, but not interesting that much. Sorry.
I don't know if it has been suggested before here, but since you liked Animals as Leaders you may also like Plini. Try to check Plini - Paper Moon. They are also instrumental.
Quality is not just in composition, technique and performance. The production is phenomenal. This song is simply a masterpiece in all its splendor
He is one of the best guitar players right now, I’m sure they didn’t take many takes lol
I saw Animals As Leaders in Sydney one time - playing support for Between the Buried & Me. when Animals as Leaders finished a breath-taking set, most of the crowd filtered out.... and we left too. Nobody comes on stage after those guys and feels adequate!! :)
Watching your reaction to this brought tears to my eyes, love that you felt it deeply as a lot of us AAL fans do.
This was my reaction the first time pretty much except a little more bouncing around and a few more mean faces 😂👌
I love what I call the “chorus” section in this song so much. It reminds me of the way my friend and I used to write together 10 years ago RIP
Sorry to hear that dude, RIP
The Brain Dance by Animals As Leaders
Love that song..
Yesss, preferably Dunlop Sessions. They play surprisingly amazing live
@chris, the Dunlop doesn’t have good sound. The original from the album does 👌🏻
seen them live several times they are the real deal
A whole lot of respect for Luquid Tension Experiment reference.
Ive listened to this song 100 times and I keep thinking; man the drummer is a beast!
The kind of music that you wan't to move your head to the rythm of, but you can't
Totally enjoyed your analogy of one of my favorite songs EVER! Brought me such emotion when you really dove into the emotional ocean that they lay out for you in the driving melodies and progressions. I can see that you were floating in the currents that flow through your soul.
Saw Periphery and Animals As Leaders show in Grand Rapids, MI. Both are even better live. Literally blew my mind.
Kudos to you, MetalRocketFx. Love it.

Sarah Longfield is senpai
Love ur profile pic
Sarah Longfield is the literal definition of a meme. She bangs on a guitar twice her size, she doesn't make music.
timeshifter08
She doesn't make music?
Hey can you send me a link to your profile where you make badass music?
Don't worry I'll wait
timeshifter08
You are a certified troll, I'm sure you probably sick at guitar and don't have a gf either
this song is on my playlist and it's well-deserved!
wow why are people only picking these guys up now? They have been around for like a decade in various forms but fair enough
Fantastic band. Nice calm serenity pieces balanced perfectly with their harder, more intricate poly-timed songs. Always a treasure to kick back and put on some AaL 🤘🏾
ARCH ECHO, MY BOI DO SOME ARCH ECHO
Two reasons why fadeout is perfect ending:
- CAFO continues as we read these comments (en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Concentrated_animal_feeding_operation)... monstrous act on animals.
- texhnical showcase of been able to keep going...
Love your videos. Was gonna suggest some Persefone but I see you already reviewed it. Good on ya. Keep it up and stay awake
"Music for musicians" is how I describe it too. CAFO is a masterpiece. Heavy as fuck whilst also being floaty and melodic.
I think "music for musical people" is an even better way of putting that
@@thal1 I completely agree now. I was wrong, it's totally music for musical people.
Dude. Tosin Abasi is a f’n BEAST!! 😎🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
If you didn't check it by now, CAFO means Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation.
Yo man I can really appreciate what you said about technical music sometimes being right on the cusp of being entertaining. If you liked this you should definitely react to Hos Down by Jason Richardson and Luke Holland. It's pretty technical and very entertaining.
Lol not sure why fade outs bother some people.
Anyways, nice to hear from someone who finds it both technical and entertaining.
If you'd see more of these guys you would know that Abasi and Reyes can play those things in their sleep, no 38 takes needed ;)

Another great video Hedgy!
*I gotta keep asking: Fallujah - Scar Queen or Amber Gaze!*
Listen to physical education, ectogenesis or the woven web by Animals as Leaders.
Periphery would also be awesome if you could listen to them.
Major pzrt time signature is 9/8
I have a new found sympathy for the girlfriends and room mates that i used to drive nuts practicing my scales.
I've been learning some tracks from the contortionist's exoplanet album, and the opening riff to Flourish has been driving my gf crazy for the past week haha. Those intro harmonics are too good not to practice incessantly.
awesome video man, would love to see you react to Haken - Falling back to Earth!
Can't do Haken , it gets blocked
Oh well, thanks for the reply, if you do listen to it let me know your thoughts.
Cleric - Resumption

*Tesseract - Concealing The Fate Part 2!!!!*
I get the impression it's more of a solo effort by a technically brilliant guitarist. Id' really like to see what he could do if surrounded by equal musicians.
Yeah, some how i feel like he isn't quite meeting his full potential

Kmuda Oscarfish Their newer material features the incredible Matt Garstka, who is quickly shaping up to be one of the greatest drummers of all time.
don't feed the trolls

React to Luke Hollands drum cover of The Brain Dance by Animals as Leaders?
My suggestion : Virvum - Illuminance
Rotting Christ - Threnody
Keep an eye out, thanks for the recommend.
Thanks man.
React to Tool. they're like King Crimson.
Korn - Daddy

Concentrated Animal Feeding Operation
Canimals As Feeders
Actually.......it's contained animal feeding operation
Not my favourite song by them, try crescent from their album joy of motion
BTBAM4LYFE
Decent song but the production is a bit shit. Somewhat muddy and whatnot and the drums bury the guitars sometimes but overall not bad at all.
Dawg, this song came out almost 9 years ago lol
You should never stop a music in the middle, whilst listening to it. It breaks all the flow and buildups...
Talking bout music is like dancing bout architecture.
